Marc Kelly Smith, founder of the Slam, impro on stage in Paris with Cizzko of the Négresses Vertes.

During the 2024 Slam at School Trophies, the France Slam League and the Culture and Diversity Foundation invited the founder of the Slam movement Marc Kelly Smith (from Chicago) to take the stage to host the tournament. He had fun reciting two Slam texts in improvisation on the piano, played by Cizzko from the group Les Négresses Vertes. All the young people present at this event were delighted to see this great figure of international Slam, who was later joined by Grand Corps Malade, iconic figure of the French Slam. Marc Kelly Smith was moved to see so many young people interested in poetry, and so much talent for reciting their texts on stage.
