i was also surprised by the pillar of bricks. you're not alone, it blended into bg for me, and it was v cleverly done with the bricks being a decorative backdrop in the top left and top right corners of the box you jumped into.

i definitely agree with you about the nsmb etc. era art, it looked very plasticine and almost bland, which was a shame compared to the cartoonier N64/GCN-era mario models, imo (i'm also a big fan of the melee mario model, it really puts me in mind of a toy that's mostly molded plastic but is wearing fabric clothing). wonder looks like it's going to be a lot of fun, though, in terms of style!

When you finish with minecraft and terraria, you should finish the indie trifecta by playing Kerbal Space Program (the original). There's a campaign mode which will be perfect for you.

i just checked the original stream and that seems to be hacked in. not just for that level but a few of the other levels he had saved as well
