Thank you so much! This was an intimidating project but your brief and instructive video took a lot of the stress and guesswork out of it. Two thumbs up.
awesome video! thanks for the education. also, let the mechanic know that a work pad or some knee pads work wonders.(got to take care of those knees on that pavement, or concrete when in the garage)
Dont let the spindle / rotor assembly fall or tilt outward away from the car. Doing this can pull the axle out of the transmission coupling, causing more work to re install it.
Nice job, thanks for sharing. But use a jack stand!!! Come on guys! At least throw the wheel under the car so when the car falls it doesn’t hit the ground.
NEISS estimated that 4,822 people in the U.S. receive hospital emergency treatment in a single year for jack failure injuries. That’s almost 5,000 people injured by the simple act of jacking up a vehicle for repair.
Hey brother...thanks for the video. I think this one is above my pay grade though :) I'm going to try and replace the sway bars though...that seems closer to my range.
I've heard mixed things about those all in one struts. Some say the ride isn't as good or the springs aren't as strong as the originals. Probably OK for a car that old and that small. Either way, I recommend KYB struts. Also I notice he didn't use a torque wrench on the 3 nuts on top.
If you struts malfunction you will fill it when you drive over hump to reduce speeding. You need to take it to a garage where they replace tire and the will let you know if you need to replace the struts.
nice work overall .....this bloke must work as a mechanic somewhere ..if not show this vid and get a job easy!..perhaps mention safety support stands just in case!
When using Monroe Quick Struts on a 1995 Geo Prizm, the the holes in the car body for the three studs at the top of the strut, must be drilled out. The Monroe studs are larger than the OEM studs and will not fit without drilling the holes larger.

That just happened to me
@@muhammadaparuk8962 Just curious, Did you cause this by turning the steering, or trying to get the spindle out of the way ?
@@daretolive9357 What is the best way to keep it in place without it being in the way?
Nice job, thanks for sharing. But use a jack stand!!! Come on guys! At least throw the wheel under the car so when the car falls it doesn’t hit the ground.
Yep, I agree. You most certainly need to have a safety jack underneath the vehicle if not a wheel.
They throw safety out the door. I don't think I'd ask these guys to replace my Suspension. Unless I supervise. lol
When the car falls? Or IF the car falls? Lol

The job doesn't require you to get under the car but yes, you can still get hurt.
I like your straight to the point video im try it out soon

How do you know if you need new struts? When i come to a stop going say? 45mph my car tires shake a ton!
If you struts malfunction you will fill it when you drive over hump to reduce speeding. You need to take it to a garage where they replace tire and the will let you know if you need to replace the struts.
How much is that in a regular mechanic? Mi Corolla 13, 97k needs new struts and shocks and the dealer is charging 1200$. Thanks
Sweet.
Thank you
Good job man.
If I do this and have bad cv axels do I run the risk of the cvs falling apart?
If you have a bad cv axels you should replace them as well.
I know how now. Thank you man.

Arent these shocks, not struts? I always thought shocks were vertical and resembled large springs and struts were horizontal?
It is still call strut but you can also call it shocks ..
cool thxs
You welcome.
nice tutorial, thanks!
Thank You.
What brand is the strut?
I usually buy on RockAuto.com , just o look there.
It's always nice when working on a car that's not yours. Just use a jack on wheels. Who cares if it falls off!
