We have the greatest Navy in the world!! No one can stand up to this! I am so proud to be a 26 year Navy man! I retired after 26 years as a Chief Boatswain Mate and am damn proud of it!!!
I remember when the USS Little Rock came to Buffalo a few years ago because the WW2 Little Rock is here in Buffalo and what's so crazy? The time they came to Buffalo was the worst time because of the weather. They ended up getting stuck here in Buffalo for a few months because of the ice.
I live in Mobile, Al. about a mile from where many of the LCS's are made. Many acquaintences work at Austal (The company that makes them) They tell me it's an unseaworthy pile of junk. Both the tri-hull and single hull are made here. From local knowledge I've learned that the hull plates are improperly welded and the entire ship has stainless steel components bolted or riveted to the aluminum hull which causes electrolysis. When these two metals are combined in a salty environment they corrode to worthless in a short time. It's a stupid design that there is no need for anymore.....Hell, there never was a need in the first place. Just another government boondoggle if you ask me. Littoral Combat Ships have no relevance. Littorals are the shallow waters near shore, what do we need with that? We have jets, guided missiles, submarines, carriers, battleships, .....We don't need Littoral Combat Ships, but hey, they gotta spend our tax dollars on something.
These are inshore vessels, they appear to be ideal for amphibious warfare. Perfect for screening the operations surrounding an invasion from the sea......
@@PaulJohnson-lv6tt As a ten year Navy Veteran, I've seen some cases where the Navy brought a new (or semi-new) ship online to evaluate its performance. You'd think that this would have been sorted out before they got that far along but apparently not. The new ship would be designed with a particular purpose in mind but "Mission Creep" is a common malady in government purchasing. The new ship would get introduced for a mission that it would perform pretty well, but somebody sitting at "a nearby desk" would think, "that probably would work for my project too." The result would be that the new ship evolved in a modified manner and the result didn't perform either task adequately. Thereby, it failed its introduction testing and its reputation got trashed. If the people introducing it had been allowed to stick to the original purpose, it probably would have been successful.
@MrGaryGG48 well as a Navy vet myself almost everything about the LCS was a failure cracking, design flaws, transmission and a whole host of other things
@@PaulJohnson-lv6tt this was an obama era program. The problem was inadequate funding. Remember the sequester??? Like all naval shipbuilding programs, the first few have 'teething' problems. During WWII, liberty ships were breaking up in the harsh conditions of the North Atlantic. Essex class carriers (which were 3rd generation) had a fatal design flaw concerning ventilation.....If a mass conflagration broke out on the flight or hangar deck, the smoke would be sucked into the ventilation systems for the engineering spaces and suffocate the snipes....
What a bunch of crap. I was in the Navy & ate as well if not better. That is not anymore special than what this place leaves you to believe. Also, on a ship this size, the Captain is mostly a Commander. The xo is a Lt. Commander. The Captain is the only one who wears a hat with scrambled eggs on the brim. Therefore, the man in this video was the Captain. Also, All commands are given by the Captain, even if he is not in the pilot house. It is run the same way on all ships, unless there is an Admiral on board & it is his Flag ship.
Waterjets have revolutionized marine capabilities. Basically a turbine pump that can squirt water in any direction, and far more efficient than unshrouded propellors. Coupling that with advanced hydrodynamic science/engineering applied to hull design and there are some very fast boats these days....I believe Polaris has a line of civilian watercraft that use this propulsion system
I have pictures of it with me near the Little Rock and I took a tour of the Little Rock. The only thing that was better than that was taking a tour of the Gerald R Ford and the US Naval Academy and going to a Navy Army Game. Army Navy Game? No! Navy Army Game!!
Littoral Combat Ships are under-gunned and under-armored. They were a waste of money. They aren't being deployed to conflict zones. The Navy is trying to sell as many as they can.
I don’t see any giant waves here, nor is this ship massive. An interesting report would be a ride on an AEGIS class destroyer. Never mind. The Navy probably wouldn’t allow you aboard.

Both classes of the littoral combat ships are absolute trash, especially this one! America needs to make their own ships and not have other countries especially Italy build for us! Italy did not put their best foot forward and in fact made an inferior ship well over the budget And we’ve already decommissioned 5 and the other 10 will be decommissioned in 10 years, what a waste of money and Congress needs to step in and find out who needs to go to prison for this travesty. Meanwhile China makes hundreds of combat ships and is out classing us on every level. Absolutely disgusting how America has gone into the shitter, we can thank our liberal Democrats for that.

Billions of dollars over-budget and about 1/3 of the fleet already de-commissioned. Excellent!

While they can go in shallow water, they are not ideal for amphibious warfare, LCS Littoral combat ships and the Navy considered the program a failure

@MrGaryGG48 to tell you the truth I would not have wanted to be on that ship, the smallest ship I was ever on was an LHA, USS Nassau

You know the Navy considered the LCS program a failure
Ship design and materials was almost a complete failure too many structural cracks to be counted

What Bull s***!! NO giant waves. This site should be off TH-cam.
Its so great to have you 'yanks' protecting us from all the Bad Guys ....LOL
47 knots? Damn...that is really fast.

The littorals are not 'massive combat ships'. An aircraft carrier would be massive.
Random highlighted words = torture

🤩👏👏👏💯
Outlook is same as chinese warship. I think it is copy from chinese type055D super destroyer.
It's good they were made from aluminum so they are easier to recycle. Tremendous waste of money. How many still serve? 3?
Yo!! WTF, OVER??? Damn, dudes!! They're eating way freaking better than I frigging did, when I was in!!! Yo. That's foul, yo!!! LOL

The whole fleet is for sale now due to technical and concept issues?

Low efficiency hull design, poor engineering. Could get much better performance
