Aw I thought it was going to be functional. Bummer. If you build the stair case on a hill and blend it into the walls of the home that staircase could actually work.
I wish I was this innovative and creative. I want to be able to place nice decor and furniture in my sims homes like this, but I have a simple minimalist eye 😅
In addition to the ladder they added, you can use testingcheats to allow for teleportation. You just shift+click where you want them to go and the teleport option should be there if testing cheats are enabled! You can also do it without cheating if you’re a vampire with the teleportation perk, and/or if your sim gets high enough wellness skill.
The staircase is just decorative, the ladder they place down beside it is what sims use to get up and down. However with RVSN’s elevator mod you could definitely add portals at the top and bottom instead.
besides the ladder you can also place a normal staircase and cover it with these logs, sims will use the normal stairs. it looks a bit off, as they're probably stepping a little "into" the steps with their legs but it works :)
I wonder if you could make a functional staircase that is similar to this. Maybe the staircase would still be useable if you placed those logs in the basement and raised them up? If this does work, you might be able to make many different variations of functional yet unique staircases. If anyone tried this out please let me know if it works 😂 I don't have Sims 4 installed anymore. EDIT: Disregard my entire comment, I somehow didn't notice Schrumpel's comment until after posting 💀💀
That seems to be a custom content so not in a normal pack by EA, unfortunately. Also not really functional, if you check other comments. I wish EA did something like this, though, they are way behind on stairs.
