- This Inspired By series is inspired by the marvellous Dina Wakley for the #rangerink #showusyourMedia Challenge 14: discoveries. Inspired by #dinawakley transparent layers class, I wanted to play with old journal spreads printed on tracing paper. I discovered tracing paper gives a beautiful crackly sound, curls when painted, and is brilliant for reductive painting and transparency. Needless to say, only a tiny bit of pre printed paper got used in the end but I like the result.I wanted to have a play some of the techniques we explored at home with my own tools and treasures. My main inspiration was to incorporate tracing paper with some of my previous art work printed on it as a transparent layer through the window - however - the piece goes on a journey of discoveries!!!

I find that too Kerry! I'm new to Niamh's channel but not to art journalling...so now I find I'm addicted to watching Niamh's posts and the junk journal ones with little time for actual creativity lol 😄 I will definitely make time for this technique though!

Thanks Kim - I'm glad you enjoy my process. Layering can seem a bit overwhelming, but in reality - I just keep adding stuff until I'm happy. Usually its to cover up mistakes :)

What kind of paints do you use? They are so bright. Mine tend to go flat even if i start w/ bright colors.

@@NiamhBaly I wished I would of seen it earlier....this was 9 months ago, I could of had a baby! Lol! I have to have a man first! Lol! American Crafts has it, they have 1000 in stock. They want, sit down, $99.00 for the set. They offered a first time customer 25% off, $79.00 now! Lol! I think they are delusional! If I can get a email I would write to them and ask for a better price....
