For the price of a bajaj you can find a suzuki da64v minivan or similar, a perfect family vehicle, especially in rainy season. These vans are available in 4 wheel drive. I am pretty happy with mine.

Every where I went required a bike taxi. Maybe I need to go back to the Philippines. Dumauguete is so different from what I first experienced

Barako 175, although manual transmission, you can put a sidecar for the crew. NMax is good looking but sits comfortably only 1 to 2 riders. Plus ground clearance is less than the Barako for that rough road going to the village. My opinion

It will get old trucking up to the village compound on foot, especially in the rain.... the heat is another factor, watching your last video, your children are going to struggle.... you can endure... but expecting the children? your son validated when he was very reluctant to dismounting from the trike when you guys were at the spot to start your walking journey up to your family compound... just saying.... in any case, we enjoy your videos. I once seen a guy with a couple of six packs of beer in his pickup truck. He had drank all of them while driving during evening rush hour traffic. Had a very hard time sitting up straight in the cab of his truck. At a traffic light he dumped all of the evidence out of his truck onto the road.

I think you need a Mimi van so you can become a resource for your extended family, something with 4 wheel drive , and teach Fatima to drive, later get a motorcycle for yourself, but drinking and motorcycles don’t mix very well

I bought a Baja Maxima earlier this year. The price was just under usd 4200 and the dealer let me put it on my credit card. I know it’s close in price to a multicab but there’s no dealer for those where I was. Also those kei cars show up in the Philippines all broken down and stacked on top of one another in containers from Japan. They’re remanufactured in what are essentially backyard workshops. Being that there’s no dealer nearby, I didn’t want to get stuck with a used car problem with no one close by to deal with it. Downsides to the Bajaj, it’s kinda loud in low gear climbing hills in the province. The ride isn’t that great on the poor provincial roads and it’s not fast. Plus sides, it is fun to drive, like a mini Jeep with the doors off. It’s more maneuverable in tight places than a car would be. You don’t have to wear a helmet and you’re shielded from most of the sun and rain. It’s easy to hose out clean when it gets the provincial mud in it, or your brother-in-law uses it to haul a bunch of bags of concrete, or whatever. The Maxima has the tail gate and is a little taller and wider versus the RE. You can get a decent amount of bulk cargo in there with the seat folded down. Also we have a Honda Click 150i we bought over 3 years ago and it’s still running strong. It does amazing on fuel, like over 80 mpg. It was 1700 usd new when we got it.
