I've got plans to add this same setup to my 5th wheel in the next few weeks! Its setting on the shelf right now just waiting to get installed. I'm really impressed with quality of it and how much better it will work than the twist lock plug. Great upgrade!
I've been using this setup for more than a year and really prefer it to the twist lock RV plugs. I bought 2 plugs for my rig. One on the 30 amp cord and one on a short 15 amp whip. The 30 amp cord would be used at a campground with hookups. Which I almost never do. However, the 15 amp cord gets used regularly at home when plugged in to the garage to run the fridge and get ready for a trip.
Everytime i plug my camper in i think there has got to be a better way. Thanks for the video! My next upgrade. Question, do you not need to disconnect batteries to do this?

I really like this idea, mine also melted the plug and I ended up replacing it

No you do not have to disconnect the batteries for this MOD!
Is there a safety recall on this? I just installed mine, wanting your opinion.
