Du
Du hasst
Du hasst mich
Du hasst mich
Du hast mich gefragt
Du hast mich gefragt
Du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts gesagt
You
You hate
You hate me
You hate me
You have asked me a question
You have asked me a question
You have asked me a question and I have nothing to say
"You have asked and I have said nothing" is a little closer in actual conversational German.
English:
>> You, You have, You have me
You, You have, You have me
You, You have, You have me
You, You have, You have me
You, you have, you have me, you have me
You have asked me, you have asked me
You have asked me and I did not say anything
Will you until death does part you
Be faithful to her for all days
No!
No!
....
@@jw70467 I considered that (also "I have no answer") but I felt "I have nothing to say" to be a bit more poetic.
@@I_ll_beer_back hast/hasst (and ist/isst) are homophones and they used this duality intentionally.
The text in the 4th chorus: will you till the death of the vagina be faithful to her even in bad days.
Saw this show in Toronto Canada in my wheelchair and a group of guys lfted my chair up above their heads to give me the perfect view durring this song, proving to me the heavier and harder the band the nicer the fans
so true
thx for sharing 🤘
I freaking love this 🤘
That's so awesome!
What you all are missing that is extra cool is that this live is in Paris. It's an entire venue of French people singing along in German. Most French people don't speak German.
french people use to hate germans 4 a long time , but now they sing along in german
Fact
If you think that is cool, watch them live in Tokyo :D
There hasn't been that much German chanted in Paris in almost 80 years now.
Most French people do speak German. They learn it in school as one of the foreign languages. They just refuse to use it.
Du hast = you have , du hasst = you hate
good to see someone else pointing that out, that is usually my first comment after watching a reaction video where people claim the song means you hate. One thing to add is that if you look at the lyrics, you will not find hasst a single time in it.
@@Templarofsteel88 If i was a little less tired i would have translated the song - but i am so done , i wouldn't get anywhere 🤣
Du, du hast, du hast mich =
You, you have, you have me.
= "I'm yours" vs. "You hate me".
Krizz's reaction = not moving a single muscle in the face for minutes, just staring, thinking "wtf am i looking at" XD Love it :D
What blew my mind about the keyboardist at the live show is that when he switches to the keyboard behind him, he walks backwards
And the treadmill's speed is always in sync with the songs' tempo. 😀
@@module79l28 Yes, he keeps time with it. Doesn't need to count.
That treadmill is brilliant. Notice he’s walking to the beat. He never loses the beat! And if anybody else on stage does, they just have to look at him.
He’s basically a visual click track
I saw them live this summer! Twice! The Show is even bigger.
Greetings from Germany
Awesome we were in Barcelona and Marseille for the shows. We were in Munich last year and it was the day after he was accused and emotions ran high and the crowd was loving the show. Much love for Till and glad to see he was proved innocent in those charges.
The piano player never stops walking on the treadmill even walks backwards on some songs
Song is based off German wedding vows as well. I like to think they are saying you HAVE most of the time. Not always but mostly. 😂 Thank you for introducing me to Krizz!!❤
I still remember where I was the first time I heard Du Hast on the radio, in 1997, and I was hooked..... I was headed to class on my way into downtown Portland. I was lucky enough to attend their show in LA two years ago, with tickets in the Feuer Zone......thanks to them adding the 2nd date to LA. Hands down....Best..... Live.... Show.....Ever! If you ever have the opportunity to see them live..... Do It! It is truly amazing and a great time!
fun fact : if you remember the movie XXX this is the band in the opening scenes of the spy running through the club avoiding the bad guys
The wedding vouls are "Willst du bis der Tod uns scheidet treu sein für alle tage? " which means "do you want to be faithful until death separates us?" And after that Till responds with "NEIN" which means "No". The meaning of the song is practically bros before hoes... To understand the meaning you have to watch the original music video.
Flake (the keyboardist) has said he gets bored on stage and the treadmill helps lol
he also has said that he was envious of the others in the band, who got to walk around on stage, while he would be stuck behind the keyboard.
Rammstain - Engel is another really good theatrical performance
And if you want to get a completely different Rammstein feel, check out Mein Herz Brennt paino version! th-cam.com/video/Dv6Th7kJ64Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TGrpRmHtUJ7EqHBO
The guest has a profound knowlege of music and the industrie in general. Love to see more visits.
hes got his own channel, krizzkalikoofficial krizz kaliko is a legendary rapper (hes affilaited with tech n9ne)
Love the Krizz and BP collabs! Also thanks for BP for introducing me to Krizz's reaction channel..catchin up the classics has been awesome
Krizz doesn't miss much. He picks up a lot on first listen/ viewing.
The singer is a professional pyrotechnician
I just love love love Rammstein since over 20 years and i love watching people reacting to them. Awesome job introducing Rammstein to so many people
This band is on fire 🔥
Dig this channel man. Folks getting out of their comfort zone and just being real.
Lol I think that is the fastest, "Is that dude on a treadmill" I have heard when someone seee's this for the first time!
for non Germans: pronunciation of hast and hasst is exactly the same, just different spelling. But "hast" is an adverb, that means another verb must follow. like in "you have beaten him", where beaten is the verb and have is the adverb. So is it in German. "du hasst (
And then there's "ß" to add some more spice. :)
@@Land-Shark there is no ß in hast/ hasst
Yesssssss 🎉a 🎉 my favorites and Rammstein, this will be amazing 🔥🔥🔥 and Rammstein!! The one and only ! Just love them ❤31.7.2023 Poland 🇵🇱 and 11.5.2024 the Czech republic 🇨🇿 2 times the best concerts in my life and I have seen a few big stars in my life 😂😂 nobody can compare 😂😂
So cool 🤗🤗 , you're reacting to Rammstein again. I hope you do more Rammstein reactions again. 🙏❤Today (September 17th) Till starts his North American tour after the RAMMSTEIN 30th Anniversary Europe Stadium Tour on July 30th. was coming to an end and today Till had just his video premiere for ÜBERS MEER (OVER SEA). Great song. This man is a workaholic. LG 🥰🥰
Till is a licensed pyrotechnic so his shows have tons of fire in them.
The dirty look comes partly from the substance they rub on their skin to protect them from the fire. Till (the lead singer) is also a professional pyrotechnician (could you tell? Lol)
Whats amazing is that its a concert in Paris, France, given by a German band that sings German songs... and the crowd just sings along as if WW2 did not happen. The healing power of music is amazing.
'du hast' is a word play on the word 'you hate' (du hasst) and 'you have' (du hast) in German: they sound the same.
Du (you)
Du hast (you hate)
Du hast mich (you hate me)
Du hast mich gefragt (you have asked me)
Du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts gesagt (you have asked me and I have said nothing in return)
Willst du bis der Tod uns scheidet (do you want: till death do us apart)
Treue sein für alle Tage (be faithfull for all days)
Nein (no!)
Nein (no!)
Willst du bis zum Tod, der scheidet (do you want till death do us apart)
Sie lieben auch in schlechten Tagen (love each other also in bad days)
Nein (no!)
Nein (no!)
Willst du bis der Tod uns scheidet (do you want till death do us apart)
Treu sein (be faithfull)
Nein (no!)
Nein (no!)
Its basically a marriage proposal gone south.
Till clearly sings something else here than „… bis zum Tod, der scheidet“ …but let us not go deeper into that here 😂 Other than that, „Du hast“ just means „you have“. It just with much purpose sounds like „du hasst“ - „you hate“ here
The beginning of the song is basically a giant dad joke
First heard them when tripping hard in the late 90s… I’d drifted away from metal to techno stuff but they brought me right back to the bangin
And when I learned they worked in a pyrotechnics company… I was sold
The guy on the dreadmill still walks on that every concert and if i remember right, he walks about 10 miles every concert.
Hi, sorry,i mean that was 16 km per Concert. 1.6 km = 1 Mile,so round 10 Miles. Corse, That's still phenomenal and that's the reason why he is so slim.greetings
@@fourlance8633 Thank you for correcting me!
As soon as I saw you did this one, as a rapper I know he would get the double word play!
You need to react to "Links 2 3 4" Live in Paris aswell!
about time you showed him du hast ive been waiting until you did this with how many others youve showed
Love this collab!❤
Oh, Industrial is so fun!! Crank it up loud and jump around!!! ❤
Dude i love that Rammstein Theme on your Podc.Greetings from Germany Frankfurt am Main. ( If you need some good german Beer give me a Call ; )
Im still waiting for you to react to Adieu by Rammstein... EPIC EPIC VIDEO!!!
Great reaction! I love watching each of you individually but these cross channel collaborations are fire! You guys are awesome together!
Meanwhile, in the background, there's been a triple X movie made, and vin diesel is somewhere there on the balcony
So a few things about this kick ass band!
1. The stage design changed over 5 years ago so check the new set up. 7 story elevator that brings them down at the start and the end of the show. Also during the song techno verso. That Richard does of Deutschland.
2. They are taking a few years off from touring as of this year. They did a long stint the last few years and need a break and deserve it!
3. When they do come back to states, please go! If you can do 2 different days I highly suggest in the seats dead center so you can enjoy the pyrotechnics. Then do the Feuerzone for another. This way you can feel the heat of it.
4. Every show they have over 90 trucks, a week to set up the stage and use over a 1000 liters of fuel per show. It’s no joke what they and their crew do for a performance. Hats off to all who make it happen.
5. Till (lead singer) has his side tour project goin on now in the states. If you can check it out, his new album is fantastic and we are seeing him in the City on Oct 1st.
I have traveled from the states to see them perform live in a few countries the last couple years and it it literally the best live show ever. Once you know what the songs means and see them perform each song you get a better understanding on what’s going on, this is from Mein Teil, Puppe, Rammstein. Adieu, mein herz brennt etc etc etc.
I love watching people seeing this for the 1st time and it’s me getting to see it in their eyes what I seen all those years ago!
Keep up the great work!
A live Rammstein show is not to be missed! Saw them in Philly not long ago and if you think the pyro in the Du Hast/Paris video was nuts...
a whole concert is a MUST EXPERIENCE. Also the keyboard player is always on the treadmill when playing, but there are also more "theatrical" parts where he is acting out parts and doing other things. The show i was at in San Antonio, 55,000 people in the Alamodome, he wore a shiny gold suit and top hat. Loudest concert I have ever been to. I want to see them again for sure.
edit: I should mention this is like only the start of the pyro in the concert, shit got REAL WILD, like a howitzer cannon shooting flames 30ft across the stage, Till wearing a flaming peacock suit, it goes HARD on the flames.
ive been to one live show in the nose bleeds and you can feel the fire from waaaay up there so i can only imagine how hot it is up close
He stops periodically. He is a critical part of the pyro segment where he is in a big pot as Til shoots flames at it. Til was a swimmer for the East German national team until he was thrown off the team for missing curfew.
What a great reaction…Thanks!
great live sonna worth checking out
Highly recommend Deutschland for both of you. The production is truly next level!
Great reaction! Should have him see the live from Paris for "Wollt Ihr Das Bett In Flammen Sehen" Another great one with the wild pyro!!
I was in my late teens/early 20s when they hit the scene. It was a time of industrial music like Rammstein, Chemical Brothers, Crystal Method, Prodigy.
Won a signed poster by the band back in "maybe" 1998 from a contest where Grand prize was to see them live in Germany but I won 1rst Place which was the signed poster. Framed it, kept letter and package it arrived in. Been over 25yrs. Damn that just sunk in... 😮
Now you have to do KMFDM - Juke Joint Jezebel ❤❤❤❤❤!!!!!!! ANOTHER INDUSTRIAL!!
Shout out to Krizz Kaliko! That's so cool you have him on your channel! ❤
Lead singer, Til Lindemann, was on the shortlist as an Olympic Swimmer for the 1980 Moscow Olympics, but dropped out after an injury.
Saw them twice this summer & they're on an indefinite hiatus now I guess 🥲
Nanowar Of Steel - Norwegian Reggaeton (feat. Charly Glamour & Gigatron)
Second this recommendation
Hell yeah!!!
You really should check out Ich Will , Sonne , and Benzene .
I think that what is amazing is that a French crowd singing along in German, after what happened during the Second World War with the Nazis. Music can do so much. And what a brilliant band!!
Hoje em dia ouço isso❤❤❤ sem palavras mesmo isso e metal 🔝🔝🔝❤. lindo 😍
The treadmill changes to the tempo of every song. Sometimes it's fast, like here, while other times it's slower, like their live performance of their song Engel (which you should TOTALLY check out, btw)
MORE REACTIONS. You guys rock. KALI BABYYYY
Adieu MV next please! 🤘
Great reaction, thank you Gents 🙏🐊❤️🦉👍
Krizz Kaliko reacting to Rammstein just made me happy !
Keep discovering Rammstein, there is so more to discover ! Also Gojira is waiting for U!!
Sonntag BP binge. Love Rammstein. I learned decent German when I was playing ball over there late 1980s, industrial, kind of gritty, just like Germany. I do have to read the lyrics at my age to understand it but these dudes are great.
I did a report on these guys in 7th grade. Till Lindmann went to school for pyrotechnics, so the fire you see during their shows is set up by Till. And they took the name in honor of the Airshow accident that happened in Ramstein on the Air Force base in 1988. They added an M to change the name a little bit.
This is what I've been waiting for
You get them always with "Du hast" :)
Great reaction as always. Please show Krizz more Ramstein. Zeit music video and Ich Tu Dir Weh and MeinTeil live are great.
Loving the collabs guys.
Keep ‘em coming.
As someone who is worked with Em, I would love to see Krizz react to the Lasey Chambers cover of Lose Yourself
Krizz would love the Comfortably Numb from the Pink Floyd Pulse concert
Krizz actually has the best pronunciation at 1:15.
I have a suggestion. "Always look on the bright side of life" By Eric Idle of the Pythons fame. Written and performed for the climax of the film "The life of Brian". People sing this at football stadiums. In the UK people will sometimes suggest this as a replacement national anthem.
Greetz from Germany, great show, like every time, thumb up Black Pegasus. Like ur channel !!!! cu
They did an english version on the album, and it is "you hate me"
I'm amazed there was a venue that okayed the pyrotechnics. I've worked with bands that weren't allowed to light a sparkler.
Check out ENGEL next the pyro in its great and the angel wings just make it perfect
Krizz Kalikooooooooooooooooooo in the hoooooooooooouse! :D Love from Germany.
the movie you're thinking of where they say "b*tches come" is xXx, which actually has Rammstein in it
The "bitches come" scene from x x x you referenced actually has Rammstein playing feuer Frei in the background
Flake usually stays moving the entire concert . Except during skits in songs .
Germany’s group KRAFTWERK was instrumental to the early hip hop sound; highly sampled. I’d recommend “NUMBERS” you’ll hear it right away!
Kraftwerk = Electro Music, or instrumental Electronic... doesn't have to do absolute anything with hip hop, just maybe that hip hop music take some sample of them to use it for them selves. Kraftwwrk don't have any connection to hip hop in general.
Greetings from a guy from Düsseldorf (Germany) where kraftwerk is from.
@@igorbo.4216 Greetings, and you just corroborated what I said. It was sampled by early Hip Hop artists and therefore was key to the sound, aka Africa Bambataa’s Planet Rock. From The Bronx, NYC where Rap and Hio Hop was born 🗽
@@igorbo.4216 Kraftwerk = Elektro-Pop/Krautrock
Kraftwerk had influence on many early Hip Hop artists, Detroit Techno artists and many more (Coldplay, Rammstein, Depeche Mode etc.).
Planet Rock (Genre: Electro Funk) by Afrika Bambaataa featured dubs of two Kraftwerk songs with vocoder voice-overs by Bambaataa.
The artform of dubbing isn't just sampling with a computer...
Electro Funk is closely connected to Electro the only difference is Electro has a backbeat and Electro Funk has a constant 4/4 beat.
Later Hip Hop productions are often based on a backbeat like Electro.
The only correct statement is that they have no connections to hip hop in general.
-----
Lott Jonn aus Rheydt - Nur weil man aus Düsseldorf kommt, muss man nicht zwangsläufig Recht haben 😉
just a wild idea Rammstein featuring Krizz...
Every time I hear this song I think about the movie How High when Method man wake up Redman with Du Hast and a blunt
So the next for Krizz should be Mein Herz brennt Piano version... 😁
Flake controls the treadmill and does stop walking at times. We joked that he was powering everything.
If you loved the treadmill in this then you'll love the music video by Ok Go and their song, Here it goes again
Devo in the 80s did a whole tour with the members playing on treadmills
That he used this fire in show, first he must have a certificate to have ability to us it legally, so he was trained in a course then he got that certificate.
Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society wears a kilt on stage
they are cool
As other have mentioned they have fire retardant on them but it gets really hot on stage if you watch their performance from EMA, they have performed Du Hast I in 98 and Ich Will in 2001, I remember that the group that performed after them were sweating a lot can’t remember witch group it was but they had knitted polos I think it was.
So the reason Flake Lorenz is on the treadmill is because he'd get bored during concerts and start messing with the other band members, so they put him on a treadmill to keep him busy.
Also, flame retardant definitely because theyve been known to light Till on fire as a spectacle.
Overall, you guys got everything pretty well.
Yeah!!! love Ramstein!!!! 40!
Krizz should check out Rammsteins - Engel. I think he would be even more appreciative of what happens during that live performance.
Good morning, fellow military brat. Dad was Army and I was born in Bad Cannstatt near Stuttgart, West Germany. First, thank you for getting "Mrs. Robinson" stuck in my head since yesterday. Second, I am requesting some more gospel on the channel. Let's listen to the album, "ΚΕΦΑΛΗΞΘ " aka "Psalm 69" by Ministry. ""Jesus Built My Hotrod" is a perfect song for a Sunday morning.
Krizz has a face like me in 1997
One thing to mention, this is tame if you compare it to their stage show from more of their recent shows.
When "RAW" meets rock and roll.
O.K. what everyone keeps missing in this crowd in particular is it's a FRENCH CROWD SINGING AT THE TOP OF THEIR COLLECTIVE LUNGS IN GERMAN!!!! WW2 anyone?! The FRENCH are proud of their language and historically don't like Germany. Til has complete control of them!!! East German slang is also one of the most confusing out there!!!
Please consider making a video to one of their official videos like "Zeit", "Angst", "Zick Zack" or "Adieu"
