- Power Outages? Expensive Electricity? Unstable Connection ruining your appliances? These are common issues for Pakistanis. Solar Panels have advanced to a point where they can easily meet your daily electricity needs and solve these problems with a return of investment in 3-5 years.
This is part one of my solar panel series where I share my personal knowledge and experience in choosing the right solar system for your house and how to build a solid structure for your panels. Dear Owais Ali, I am a great fan of you documentaries and regularly benefit from your findings. Based on your experience and video, I decided to contact electrical wall for installation of solar system at my home. Despite repeated efforts, neither they return calls or respond to messages. Perfectly shows the Pakistani mentality of local vendors. Imagine if they do not answer business calls, what will there response be when there is fault in system and the customer will needing help. This so called solar expert will not even respond. So a word of advice, please be careful in recommending Pakistani vendors as they have no work ethics and not even aware what customer service means.

Love your videos content. I think the gates should open inwards rather then blocking the road and creating a hazard. I see this all the time in Pakistan where people would use public roads to cover their driveway ramps and feel this is not any different.

Hello. Great video! You told you opted for 10kW setup but didn't mention your needs and how big your house is! I have a 5 marla double story house with 2 ACs, 8-10 fans, a fridge, a water motor. Please suggest how much kW setup will be required. Thanks

Great info! We once looked into getting solar panels in Australia but it was too expensive for us at the time. Your set up is coming along nicely 👍
Cost of solar per watt has been decreasing every year, maybe you should reconsider when you’re back. Since electricity is expensive and unreliable in Pakistan, it makes for a very viable option here.
We live in mirpur, we hardly get any electricity for about 15hrs what will be the best option for us?

V nice Video Owais.. you did not mention anything about the steel structure on which the panels were mounted. What is the tilt angle? also, how did you work out your power requirements, What hardware you chose and why?

Salam I just came across your channel and as I'm slowly getting through the videos, it has been extremely helpful. I was born and raised in Canada and I'm planning on moving to Lahore for two years as an experiment. I've only visited the country once a few years for 5 weeks. Ok Awais bhai first of all welcome to Pakistan..
Secondly we are on the same page when its about net metering where my house is at single phase right now.
But difference is its a newly built house where work is in progress and electrical work is incomplete upto the point where we have put through the wiring in all home.
Although wiring is in walls no boards are installed yet and neither is main db board installed as of now. We have installed an extra 3rd wire or yellow wire through out the house for ups purpose as well.
My question here is can you please guide me what should i do at the moment to make it 3 phase ready while i can.
I have a separate transformer which has a 3 phase meter for a agriculture water motor and the transformer with my meter is right in front of my house.
Should i have to change all the wiring of the house to 3 phase or 3 wires (3 phases) will only come to db box from where everything will remain same?
Because if its how i am saying i have to just buy a 6 meter wire to db box, apply some changes to panel inside db box and good to go or if my understanding is wrong i will have to rewire the house completely.
Salam, yaar honestly I’m not that qualified to give you an opinion on this. I would suggest you take opinion from a company that regularly installs net metering systems.
In my case, we only made the DBs three phase but the house wiring was not changed.

My opinion is that we should not drill holes on the roof. Better use pilons/pillars

Thanks for sharing Awais. When grid feeding is off, solar generation is sufficient and load is less than generation, how many watts it still takes from utility ? can you please confirm that. Voltricpower inverter takes around 300W but they don't use CT. I believe these one will take less than that. I'll be great if you check and share here.
