Another great video! I remember learning about the old hat makers in high school, and where the term Mad hatter or mad as a hatter, came from. Very interesting, but sad at the same time. Look forward to more videos as usual :) thanks for sharing your knowledge, Cherry Pie.
It is starting to look like my my old shop. Its been great unpacking stuff, I decided not to make videos of the progress and just get on with it. Very close to being finished. much love right back at you. xo
Hello I enjoy your video an adore the music. I have a question I am new to Ebay as a seller 6 months. I purchased a trench coat with a detachable lining for cold days and sleeve warmers. The company Marlbeck who made the coat is from England and stopped making clothes in the 1950's. I have done research not much luck. Any ideas on how to price the coat, the coat is awesome. Thanks
I sell frye boots on ebay and have an average of 50 to 75 watchers on every pair that I list so 46 watchers seems normal. I’ve found that listing items low attracts the buyers and items tend to sell higher. Adding keywords like rare or black label (when selling frye boots) also helps attract the buyers. I started selling on ebay when I was a freshman in college (way too long ago) and have continued to do so every since. It’s the only hobby that I’ve found where you can make a couple thousand dollars a week and have a tremendous amount of fun in the process.
Hello, Professor CherryVintage! I always feel you have limitless knowledge about the subject when I see your video and really enjoy it! 1. How do you identify whether it is real fur and what animal (if not marked)? 2. Sold listings on "fedora fur felt hat" shows all the way to $350, with one with title "Indiana Jones Fedora! Pure Beaver Fur Felt! Handmade By Custom Hat Maker!" gone to 275$! If the seller were to do it buy it now with offer, how much was reasonable asking price? Thanks again!
You are needed in the Struggleville Harris Tweed video. You have a classroom waiting for your expert opinion. The kids are getting restless and starting to make "sheep" jokes.
Regarding the title i feel the limited number of character could have been put to better use than with the key words "Very Rare" as few buyers use those terms in a search. With items like this it is often more helpful to suggest an era such as the "60's" or perhaps the "Rat Pack" to attract the right type of buyer for the item. When shopping oftentimes buyers will use keywords such as I have suggested in the hunt for items that will emulate signature looks of an era or celebrity.
Look at this hat, I noticed several things. On the plus side: On the plus side it is a copy of the Stetson Open Road, which is a highly sought after hat by collectors. Its also a fur felt, as opposed to a wool felt, which is a plus. Its a 7 3/8, which is widely worn size (I wear a 7 3/8), and hard to find in vintage hats. On the negative side: The moth bites are a major downer, condition being everything. Also, the creases in the leather sweat make the hat uncomfortable, so its going to need to be fixed or replaced. Lastly, the sweat band is cheap and does not speak well as to the quality of the hat. A real Open Road in similar condition would have sold for far more.
I am honored that you choose my question as one of the first. I will so stay tuned. THANK YOU for the Video response. I love to learn from others!
