As an aspiring jazz musician who plays tenor, I really like your ideas, and will incorporate them into my practice routine. Thank you for posting this.
Try learning the first five notes of each major scale. Then you can put them together to make the full scales. Also try taking a simple tune that you know, and learn it in all 12 keys.
That two characters thing is pretty cool.
Joshua Redman is a master at that
All work and no play make us a dull person! So true :)

It's been four years since you've posted this comment, how has it been going
I really like that idea of using two characters to build the improvisation around. Definitely gonna try applying that to my own playing.
1:23-8th note...he broke the rule...you can see the guilt in his eyes.
It was more of a grace note into the quarter note
thats how jazz works
I noticed that too;)

What’s with his palm keys?
SEVERiN They've been built up so it's easier to reach with his palms, so his hands don't have to go far off the sax.
What are the little white things on his palm keys? Is that an attachment or stock to the horn?
Merci beaucoup

I'm having trouble memorizing my scales. It gets boring just going up and down the scales. Is there a better way of memorizing scales?
