Got my 500 several months ago and wasn’t too pleased with a few of the things you mentioned.. after some time I realized I like the backwards shifter because while on the trails it’s forward and away from my elbow. I also did a 2” lift with spacers and really started to mess around with the shock tuning. It’s now a completely different machine after messing with the shocks. Super smooth ride, where before you almost felt the need to wear a mouth guard with factory settings. Great value @ $9,499 regardless!
@Max Prusak That’s good to hear you got the suspension dialed in! And yes compared to the other brands they are a very good value.
Do u ever wish u got the 800
@@osutx427 I’m not sure if your talking to me or @Max Prusak but I’m my opinion the 500 has plenty of power to push this 50” suspension. If your trails are not restricted to 50” and you don’t mind spending a little more cash I would go the next step up to the 60” 800
@@rockspowersports what about 800 trail that is still 50" I think
@@osutx427 I haven’t drove the 800 trail, but I have drove the 800ex 60” version and it does have quite a bit more power than the 500.
Great video. Lots and lots of detail. Thank you.
The "long throttle" you talked about makes driveability and power dosage so much smoother
@Tristan Bull Yes it does make for smoother power, it just takes some getting use to after driving other brands that are much shorter feeling..
I have a 800 trail cfmoto putting elkas on it and bigger tires was the best thing made a huge difference
Ya that what I keep hearing from people. It’s a good machine but it would be better with a smoother ride quality.
@@rockspowersports the money you save not buying a Polaris or can am can be spent on some high quality upgrades and end up being better than a stock Polaris or can am! Now they might not be as fast but most of the time the trails I ride 25-30mph is about as fast as you can really ride. If you get a chance slide on over to my channel check my ride out and some of my trips
@@DirtTrailAdventures Your right for the price you can’t beat them. And I’ll be sure to check out your videos!
3500 pound winch and stock tires are 4 ply but both are plenty for this machine. Love mine
@Chase Ledbetter They are very good value machines, You get a lot for your money. Have you had yours long? Just curious how it seems to be holding up.
@@rockspowersports I've had it right at a year. 500 miles on it. Zero issues. I came from a honda pioneer 700. I love honda but it was bare bones and 3000 bucks more. So saved 3000 and got roof, winch, power steering, etc. I got a 4 year warranty for like 800 bucks more so no worries for a while
Would recommend getting non stock tires for better traction?
You do have a passenger us
How you haven't gain anymore subscribers is beyond me! Great video as always 👍
I was wondering if you come across the older Suzuki king quad 300 4x4 or the arctic cat equivalent?
I personally on a Suzuki and it is quite a good machine and is starting to become popular as a good cheap 4x4 atv among the young crowd
I’m not sure, maybe one of these days I’ll gain some traction..
And I don’t have any at the moment but I’m always looking for deals to scoop up so maybe in the future I’ll pick one up.
@Andrew Insinga I’m supposed to be picking up a early 90’s Suzuki 250 4x4 this weekend. Pretty close to the same as the kingquad 300 I think.
you can dim the dash gauge with button next to the key I have 22 zforce 500 trail
That’s good to know, thanks for the info.
What's the gas mileage or hourage like? Looking at picking one up this week
It has about a 7 gallon fuel tank. It all depends on how you drive it and the terrain your in, but if your on logging road type of trails I would expect 20mpg. I usually would be filling up at 80-100 miles though just to be safe.
@@rockspowersports that’s all I needed to know! Thanks a lot!
Stage little sxs . The gear selector is backwards compared to a truck or car . Just stage . No dimmable gauge is strange. That switching is weird. Ground clearance sucks for an off road vehicle. Hitch receiver sticks out too far and is too thin of steel. It will bend. My buddy bought an ATV I think it's the 400. Plastic fender fasteners , low quality. Overall just cheap build IMO. Good video keep them coming I watch them all.
The gear selector is strange, you would think they’d have it like a vehicle.. I’ve never ran one of these for a long period of time so I’m not sure how they do hold up. You do have to consider that the msrp on this is $9500 right now and the cheapest Polaris RZR is $15,500 so there’s quite a savings. But like anything you get what you pay for…
I appreciate the feedback,
I’m glad your enjoying the content!
@@rockspowersports Your right about that ! I guess if you only use it once a year for during hunting season it will last ?
@@MBTUE Ya maybe, like I said I don’t have much experience with them long term.
your just hating, let me guess your a popo guy
or u don't own anything
2 inch lift and 28 inch tires makes a world of difference
@esty802 I bet that gives it the perfect amount of clearance. Does it turn the 28’s decent?
I added 2 inch spacers and it rubs at full lock but it's alot more stable and the rubbing ain't that bad
That’s very good to know! I see your name has 802 in it. Are you from Vermont also?
@Rocks Powersports no no I'm in South carolina
@@esty802 Oh gotcha! Our area code is 802 here so I thought that’s what it was haha.
How much ???? Is it for sale
It’s already sold.
Did they stop making the 500 ?
@Kyle G Yes that’s what I heard. The smallest Z force is now the 800
@@rockspowersports disappointing. I had a Honda pioneer 500 a few years back. Sold it for financial reasons now I’m able to get another machine. I wanted the 500 trail.
@@Kgilp You may want to call around to some of your local dealers. They may still have some hold overs of the 500’s. If they do I bet you could get a good deal on one.
@Kyle G I'm picking up mine Monday. I found a dealer that still have some 500 trails in stock. I have put my deposit to hold it till I get there.
i'm 5'10" and weight 240, would i fit ok?
@adam ant I would recommend you go sit in one. You will feel a little cramped but it’s manageable. The Polaris RZR and can am maverick have more room for sure, but they also cost a lot more.
@@rockspowersports ya I'm going to, but for as little as it's going to get used, it's hard to pass that price point.
You will fit just fine.
Well what was the gps vs speedo max?
I wished I knew.. I found out after I got the video together that all my setting in my camera were reset from a update and my gps was turned off. I was planning to check the speed with the gps again but the machine sold very quick and I didn’t get the chance to.
I’m not sure if 60mph was accurate but the little 500 impressed me for sure either way.
can you do video on a trx400ex
I don’t have one of those units at the moment but if I get one I will do a video on it.
@@rockspowersports bet
Edited at 7:50, seems like it was dying
The engine died twice during this short video, what's up with that???
@Bill Barry Did it die twice? I know it did once when I hit the rock in my rock pile as I call it. I’m not sure why it did stall there..
Have not seen a cheap one
