Samantha’s daughter said that Samantha would regularly ask her father for money. I expect that she felt that she could at least indirectly benefit from money Meghan gave to her father. Meghan did give him thousands - she’s the only offspring of his that did.

Why would Thomas Markle need MM's financial help? He won two Emmy's for two different TV successes. Do lighting directors get residuals? Even after he lost money paying for Doria's lawyers when she was charged with finacisl crimes in connection with the travel agency he established for her, he was a le to send MM to an ecoensive private university after her private high school education. Surely his social security payments alone would have allowed him to enjoy a very comfortable retirement. Also, I believe he had moved to Mexico, where American retirees of much more modest means than he should have had as a result of his professional achievements go to live in relative luxury because of smaller costs.

I had a work colleague years ago that was very much a Meghan Markle. She came from an ordinary family (lovely people), the mom was a bit loud and the dad, a hard worker, in his boiler suit, you get the picture. She met a guy from a very well to do family and she ghosted her family completely, breaking her mom's heart. I was bewildered at the time. I would never have done that to my family. So I guess it is the line Meghan took, she was ashamed of her humble, unsettled family. Doria is kept around for appearance and childcare. Gosh that sounds mean, but unless I had seen it happen for myself I wouldn't believe it possible.

I always thought that Samatha had grit to her and a “never die” attitude even when she was at the base of a mountain. The had to chuckle to myself as I had gave myself a “wtf” head shake when I looked at your glasses you set down on the book cover. Just the way the nose piece sat over the snow globe and then the title at the bottom, it looked like those glasses you can buy at the novelty shops with the nose and moustache attached. Once I figured out what I was seeing and then I could not not see it, I thought that’s kind of ironic as I always thought that there is such a whole falseness to what Meghan tries to portray and her mask that she has superglued on her face is finally coming off. Samatha’s book was just the first part of the formula that is loosing up the adhesive. Now how is that for another unintentional deep dive?😉 I’m looking forward to your next video.

Yes, it was a mess from the very beginning. All were to blame, honestly.
Meghan was immature (still is) in handling her family just around the wedding time, for whatever reason she wanted to ghost them. (maybe that's why she said they were married three days prior to the spectacle. In case somebody showed up to object to the wedding ceremony?)
Then Samantha got herself into a mess trying to help her dad look good and later went to Kensington Palace to hand a supposed apology letter to Meghan through the security guard at the gate. That had fed the media to say, Meg's sister tried to crash the wedding. Moreover, her brother tried to warn the Royal family of his wicked sister, Meg.
All that did not make the Markles look good.
While puppy dog Harry followed Meghan's order, and started to blame her father, which was a very tacky move. And scolding him while he was still recovering in the hospital, that if only Thomas had listened to him? What an arrogant P...k.
They all fed the media with juicy bits that they themselves did not even try to correct. Even the Queen asked H n M to talk to her family. But Nope. Meghan was clawing her way to the altar, no time.
At least Samantha owned up to her part of the mess. Have to give her that.

I love your unbiased review of books. It keeps it real. To make a point about a subject, we have to try to be objective. Also, just because we dislike Meghan, doesn’t mean that we have to automatically like the Markles. I believe they are all trash, full of hate and resentment. If Samantha was telling the truth about not trying to hurt her sister, then why has she done interview after interview saying the most horrific things about her. I don’t care how awful Meghan is, she is her sister, she could have kept quiet, and not tried to destroy her. And the brother is just as bad, he even sent a letter to the Queen asking her to stop the marriage. I mean, how much hate is in that family? And the father is the worst, he started a TH-cam channel to talk about his own daughter!! And now they try to play victims, and say they were naive, but like you said, they were all very well acquainted with the entertainment industry. The father worked on tv for years! I don’t believe them for a second. And Meghan is just a result of that dysfunctional family. All the things that we hate about Meghan, she learned from her own family, the disloyalty, the airing the dirty laundry, the narcissism, the gaslighting, etc.

I'm very surprised this has even been a problem. Back in 86, i was interviewed by BBC radio for the Today programme. When the programme was aired, my answers were cut in a way to imply the opposite to what I'd actually said. At the time, I was 22 years old and it was my first ( and last) dalliance with the media, but it taught me to take things said in the media with a pinch of salt. You would think that everyone in this scenario have had contact with the media in some form or another. Harry, Meghan, Thomas snr and Samantha have all worked in some form within the media spotlight. You would think they all know that things are taken out of context, twisted to make better headlines. Sam should have known the media would twist it and Meghan should have known the media twisted it. In conclusion, all of them have got 'their knickers in a twist' over something really irrelevant that would have been forgotten about if 1/ The Markles had kept quiet or 2/ If Meghan and Harry had shown the hand of forgiveness. It really is a mountain out of a molehill.

Once again, I appreciate your willingness to see balance and nuance. I loathe Harry and Meghan, but unlike so many people who share those sentiments, it's never led me to believe that Meghan's family are heros. When it comes to Harry, Meghan, and the Markles, I think it's a case of - to use the Reddit phrase - Everybody Sucks Here. I've always known it was Samantha who orchestrated those pap pics of Thomas and was thus the Mrs O'Leary's Cow of the breakdown in relations. Given that and what you discuss here regarding the "Princess Pushy" interview, it's strange that she's continued on as she has. Samantha and both Thomases could have made the decision early on to stop digging the hole. Instead, they've continued to give interviews, and their conduct has been low-class and indefensible. I don't blame Harry and Meghan for wanting nothing to do with them after their interviews and accusations. I do blame Harry for then treating his own family the same way and expecting them to speak to him.

Just the nice public stuff about engagements, weddings, christenings, public appearances, openings of parliament, Nobel prize dinners. Historic jewelry and such. Anyway, more than one blog went on hiatus or closed permanently when Meghan came on the scene. To some, she couldn't do anything right; and to some, she could do no wrong- and the latter would not understand that suggesting that someone was wearing a dress in an unflattering color or cut, is not accusing that someone of a character flaw but merely a sartorial problem. 🤷 Interesting... Samantha is in many ways, her own worst enemy. I've watched many of her interviews and have come away with a very mixed feeling. She's definitely courageous and clearly loves her family. But she has a very unfortunate way of behaving, and her rationalizations tell me she doesn't really own her part in things. I remember watching her stunts prior to the wedding with a sense of total cringing. Totally got that she was hurt - for her father especially, but also for herself. but pulling the kind of loudmouthed, challenging, entitled behaviour she did would have had anyone cut her off.

Samantha was describing her half-sister as Princess Pushy before the marriage and made a major production of her quest to connect with MM by displaying herself at the Palace gates. She admitted that at one point she went through Doria's bureau drawers on the sly and described for all lurid photos she alledgely found, according to one of the channel hosts dealing with the debacle. I'm no fan of the Markles, but I think Samantha and Thomas have been horribly opportunistic. Why would he do a podcast with a paparrazzo, even if he didn't know the manipulative character of the man? How can people criticize MM for exploiting her connwction to the BRF as her only entree to celebrity, and yet not see that the Markles are similarly using their connection to MM for publicity and more money than they would have otherwise had. How could MM have trust in Thomas when he aligned himself with her opportunistic half-sister, who was condemned as a jerk by her nephew or another close younger relative early on as being way off base about MM, who he said had always been kind and friendly to him? Thomas claims MM expected him to reject Samantha, which he would never do to his own child... Maybe so, but he could have maintained a relationship with Samantha without chiming in behind her as she clearly turned herself inside out to thrust herself into the public spotlight on MM's coattails. Samantha is now in the eyes of many a devoted saint only out to protect her family's honor, her father's well-being, and the sanctity of the BRF. Well, when asked during an interview about her emergence as an internationally known figure speaking to millions through the media, she gave a smug, delighted smile and said that we should always go along for the ride and see how it all plays out when life puts opportunities in our paths....yuck!

Making a child and who you choose to do this with has to be one of the biggest decisions we make ever.
Somehow we don't always look at it that way.
We're so casual about this decision taking massive risks that could end us up with an unplanned baby, without spending enough time getting to know the other person first.

Unless a book is self published, most writers don't have control of the title of the book, it is often an editorial decision, same with the cover of a book. Saying this, I know there are Team Sam and Team Meghan followers, I do find the entire Markle clan have strong Narcissistic leanings. While HG Tudor identifies that both Tom Markle, Sr and Doria as well as Meghan are Narcissists, I also think that Sam is highly Narcissistic as well. Tom Jr strikes me as being a rather clueless individual, even if he is a loving son.

I think it’s unfortunate that Samantha made any public comments at all, & should not have said anything more public other than’No comment’ as what I said was taken out of context. I think the royal family should have overruled Megan & offered advice to the entire Markle family after Harry’s impulsive statement.

Yes much more support should’ve been given straight away!
