It’s incredible how quickly these guys think. For Alonso to know to move off the racing line, while avoiding DRS detection, as well as just getting out of a pit stop likely thinking of his race position all at once is so impressive.

It's difficult to a layman such as I to tell, but I wonder how much is prediction or anticipation, how much is preparation, and how much is just pure reaction times. I imagine it differs from racer to racer, but Alonso strikes me as the sort of fellow who would have studied the track in advance, considered potential strategies, and been cognizant of this potential outcome. Still, quick thinking to put it into practice!

Those two are the last 2 drivers on the grid that learned racing with gravel traps and grass around every corners. It shows when battling because they're always letting the other driver just enough space to not be in a situation where they could lose their car, resulting in a unpredictable crash maybe affecting both cars.
Alonso was unconsciously reffering to that when he said the infamous radio message "ALL THE TIME YOU HAVE TO LEAVE THE SPACE"
Even if Hamilton sometimes changed his ways of racing by pushing others wide, it was always up to a certain degree.
I respect them a lot for that clean way of racing.
