Has it occurred to anyone that perhaps that evil ruler killed everyone in the village and forced the girl into his haveli which would explain the presence ppl often feel at nights.
No it's possible to kill all plps of village especially if that Village belongs to Brahmins . Hindu social structure won't allow such barbaric crime against Brahmins , usually some other ruler or King protect or provide safe sanctuary to Brahmins if they r in trouble .
