My hometown of Irving, TX also has EOWS-612 sirens, of course ours are dual-toned. They used to sound off the Westminster Chimes every day at Noon in addition to the monthly testing...at least until 2005 when a few units were replaced by the 2001s.
Keep us posted!! Great video after watching your dimmit tornado wning vid i mapped sirens. I only found the 612, the STH-10 by a high school, and a model 7 or something. I will post map when possible,
Just got back from taking picts and looking at it. The power is not hooked up at this time (5-22-12) but test day is Friday so maybe they will get to it before then. If not then next month. The horn looks to be of fiberglass and is larger than a 2001 in diameter but not nearly as long. Also see a fan in the middle and the rotator box looks smaller. Stay tuned.
NW 9th st and Andrews. Had to go to google maps and look it up. Been along time ago. www.google.com/maps/@34.5535127,-102.323078,3a,75y,295.85h,106.18t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s12jr_J-ZZguD4A3CAVRqiw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
you guys can tell that this siren has a new FS MOD box on it, right?? The tone starts soft. That's the mods that do that. This is not the Original box that came with the EOWS

The sth10 sounds like a model 5 from far away
Are you planning to film the new FS 508 in Amarillo soon??
I should be recording some of dimmits sirens next Friday.
What street is this on?

i like how this sounds, i just shot one tonight and HOLY CRAP, was it high pitched!!!
This siren is still here, the controls were upgraded to UV not too long ago.
Yeah the ASCs might be worse with the soft windup then volume spike.
Yes, this is a fairly new siren and as of the summer of 2015, its still there.
kdksiren is it sitting there to this day??
@aether9747 supposedly yes
Apparently, it has a uv controller now
they have a good mix of sirens there..
Is this siren still here as of 2015?
Is it still here as of 2020 is the better question
This is a fairly slow wail

PlatinumEagleStudio's That just means that this EOWS has a Modulator UltraVoice Card
ya, wtf is up with the nearly silent windup? and the wail mode, nuuuu
Something on those Alertronics or iForces. I hate how they start off soft too. That's why I prefer EOWSs and Whelens.
Hey wait a minute was this siren in that other video
Tornadoguy 21 most likely a STH-10
I hear a Sentry and a STH-10 pretty sure.
STH-10, Yes. Sentry, No. You are hearing a Screamer that is several blocks away.
@@kdksiren Whoa that’s a Screamer? Wow, it sucks that they replaced all of them with 508’s, except the 612.
this sounds just like Federal Signal's DSA wail signal.
I agree with ASCs mechanical sirens being better, I just hate the tone set that ASC uses for their electronic sirens.
I live in a town that has this kind of siren cool
Where is it and is it still active?
@sd70macproductions24 unfortunately it got tookern down several years back
@@IAIS96 oh, that sucks
@sd70macproductions24 only saw it once go off I'm biting myself in the rear end not videoing to this day

I hate the soft start on these. It's way too quiet.
