Hey T90... I'm a new viewer in the past few months, however I've probably watched 50 community games already. I've never played aoe2 but I find these videos so entertaining to watch! I did play AOM a lot as a kid, so I do understand the basics. Anyways, I wanted to remind you that you might have more viewers than you think who don't have any experience with aoe2 or RTS in general, and knowing that might help you continue to improve / grow your TH-cam channel. It is ALWAYS appreciated when you describe things in a way that is easily digestible to people who don't play the game. Thanks!
I love the shout-out to AoM, because as a 12 yo playing aoe2 in 2002 or whatever, I thought age of mythology had the better graphics, the better music, the better unique units and the God powers was a bit crazy. Better shaders for sure, have you seen the foggy maps with Golden sunshine?! But here we are, and there's always been a very consistent, much stronger community behind aoe2 for reasons I don't know yet. I do have to say though I really appreciate the youtube content creators really giving me that analytical insight into aoe2 that I never would have figured out as a kid. Lots of food for thought on many channels.

As soon as orange changed the price from 3 to 7 thousand I knew he was scamming. It was painful to see red still send the gold after that. It's understandable since he was 1 v 2 and at that point probably felt like it was his only shot at winning. I would've ignored orange as soon as he said 7k gold, and instead tried to make the same offer to yellow. Still probably wouldn't have worked. If he had kept the gold, and come up with the wonder idea earlier, he still could've won. Of course that's easy to say now.

With Yellow's flanking castles going up on the left, I don't think Orange's wonder would have stayed up as long as T90 thinks. Those castles would have split Orange's forces/attention, at the very least.

Man Red was such a hypocrite, well played diplo though. Managed to constantly be turning on and backstabbing or pushing other people into doing the same while broadcasting that he's the goodguy who only fights bullies / is defending himself while attack grounding with those cannon galleys.
Would also be interesting if you can sacrifice the king in the case a wonder is up. _So that people can build a wonder and then to use their kings for some crazy high risk high reward strategy._
I'm not sure if that's even possible with coding in the game engine, but if not then have it an option where building a wonder allows a player to produce extra kings (limited numbers of course) from their wonder.
@@MajesticOak Hmm, the idea behind that is to utilize the king but with some big downsides by putting a target on the back of the player due to the wonder timer and to become stationary. Like then the player would need to build multiple wonders in the case he wants to move somehow. Your method would do the job if the produced king can't move.
The main potential issue I'm trying to sidestep (if it's even an issue in the first place) is that I don't think winning conditions could be changed without scripting events... although now I think about it, your idea should be possible with some scripting events changing victory conditions midway.

McBeast was the definition of 'too clever by half' in this game, but he had a good run regardless and was wildly entertaining so we love it folks. This game was chaos incarnate, sometimes it's all rational game theory calcuation alliances and that's great too, but occasionally people just deciding to Do Stuff is fantastic.

as kids we had contests in German who could last the longest with the most fizzle tabs ;) btw german tap water is perfectly fine. more controlled than bottled water. taste depends on the area you are in. (same for austria,/swiss).
Yellow has a name that represents the death squads but doesn't think of using the pincer move of which the angel of death created for Adolf. Pincer would have finished orange much quicker.
I wish more players, when they realize their end is close, would sacrifice their king...if anything, for content and to make your name in the community.
I think red overmocroed his cannon galeons a bit, but I don't think that he overmicroed his gold tributes to orange though. Overall, a great game. And honestly, I think that red was correct to put his stakes on orange, I had been thinking that they were good allies. Red earlier had helped orange a lot, first with gold when he needed it a lot, then with helping destroying purple. And I think he was better ally to orange than even yellow, because he helped more even being on the other side of the map.
