How the cameraman managed to stay on top of the car the whole time is beyond me 👏
Actually there was a squirrel filming on that. It also yelled "Run run run ruun" a whole time, because it was so exciting. And rc was electric :D

I think I remember them covering a ROAR nats at one point. Or it might have been RCPro, I can't remember. But it didn't seem to fly well with the "Motorsports aren't sports" crowd that seems to make up a majority of ESPN's audience.

I’ve seen them do the same with electric cars. They gun the throttle & rotate the car back from a “nose plant” landing to a serious “rear wheels first” landing. Pretty amazing power to weight ratios on these little buggers...
I knew you could do that with bikes to do backflips, but never thought about lateral stabilisation. Really cool :)
@@pablojacome5201 i dont think dirt bike backflips are done by spinning the rear weel. they throttle to mantain momentum

For a pro driver, that was a dick move at 1:30 totally clipped that dudes rear.

Yes between the very loose track conditions and me not having my setup dialed in yet there is lots of understeer in this video. By the end of the weekend we were 3-4 seconds a lap faster than this when the grip came up and my setup got dialed in. Thanks for watching!

he straightened his wheels right before he lands the jump, that's skills
It goes way beyond that. Notice lap 1 how he stops the wheels from spinning over the big jump. That brings the front of the car down. Later he holds full throttle to lift the front end. He turns the front tires as well to move the car side to side in the air. The wheels are in essence 4 gyroscopes while in the air . Bottom line...... he's got incredible control of that car.

That tiny correction mid air slow mo was so clean just goes to show how good he really is can make a quick adjustment to keep his car level crazy driving👍

It looks so perfect tho....we have a free use outdoor track at a public park here that my kids and I use often but its so dusty we can hardly get good laps with our rear wheel drive truggys its very hard to drive well on...the actual sanctioned/organized races they bring out a water pump and tank to prep the track and it makes a huge diffrence but we dont compete just bash so we have to wait for a rainy day followed by a nice day to get a good condition
This must be how little dogs and children feel running crazy through the house.

Hell yeh, drift mode activated. It’s like he really wanted to drift but knows it’s faster to not drift, last lap says fuck it and just lets loose.

get VRC Pro the real RC simulator:) there you can drive many offizial tracks with your own remote controll. I know re- volt. I played it as I was a kid XD

Wow, looks a whole lot faster than real-life F1 on the racetrack.
Looks Mach 1 over wheels in full scale.
In 1/1 (ie real world scale) it'd be reaching 320mph... So that's probably why!
It’s a 1/16 scale car top speed 40 mph
16x40 =640
So if you want that F1 to look this fast on a onboard it would have to go as fast as 640 mph👍🏻

Another great video.. This is something I never get to do so that makes it great to be able to experience it in some way. R/C is not the big around where I live. Especially nitro and 1/8th scale. Just sort of died. So it's great to be able to experience this from this perspective.. Thanks for always making us a part of the experience...
Man I'm getting old.... I'm really glad that I stumbled upon this video. I have so many of these cars and buggies placed away in a store room that haven't been driven in years and this brings back so many memories. I really enjoyed watching this and can now only dream that I still had the time (and a place) to race them.

Iv been into rc since the 80s its come along way!!! I'm 34 and still have a collection and it keeps growing! ..I'd love to race!!
Hadley Wolf oh I understand that. When I got my first opportunity to do this full time I had to move to California. My dad used to do all my mechanic things for me. So it took me a good year to get it all semi figured out as I’m not naturally mechanically inclined at all. But it’s fun to learn and always a blast to drive! :-)
@@easportssucks4347 Start with electric and when you get the hang of that you can try nitro! You might want to check around what's racing in your area though too if you are thinking about it... cuz where I live 1/8 nitro disappeared and everything is 1/10 electric now. cheers!

Ryan Lutz is one of the best RC drivers on the planet, he has driven for most of the major manufacturers that exist, I have raced RC cars since the early 90's and have always been a fan of his, plus he is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, putting his skills in FPV is awesome, the world needs to know these drivers and the talent they have. I started racing at the "World Famous Ranch Pit Shop", still have some of the trophies from back then. Always loved your paint job on your buggies.

If you see your car moving a certain way in air you can control it to some degree like that. It's not as tough as you'd think. Getting the line on semi blind corners is goddamned impossible though

I am not comparing myself to this driver in any way (he is way better than I) but the amount of car control you have "in air" is what makes the difference. Great stuff - enjoyed it!

That little nitro is tuned really nicely I’ve never had one rev so high
I would imagine it's a racing spec engine with high nitro content and no pull starter. Those things combined add a lot to to the top end
@@KnowledgePerformance7 do those drill starters that slot into a hole also give drag? I tbink i know what you mean by no starter they uave a cutour on the flywheel and you put it on a box that soins up the flywheel directly to start it instead
@@rajgill7576 yeah the starter boxes. If you use one it has 2 advantages...
1. Less drag on the motor from the one-way starter bearing in the pull start
2. No hole for a shaft for the starter. This allows for better sealing of the engine and thus higher compression and hight revs
Raj Gill these race engines are made by OS and run on 30% nitro, lots of compression and at full tilt max rpm is 44,000
With a "stereo-3D" camera that would be one "virtually" amazing drive!

@@matthewb8229 yes it was very slick. It was also early in the weekend and I wasn’t dialed in setup wise yet. We probably did laps 2-3 seconds faster than this by the end of the event!
