Grew up with Rupert Bear as my first childhood stories , the illustrations were brilliant and by themselves trasported me to a magical innocent place
All those years later i can still feel the effects of his illustrations and magic they conjured up
RIP Terry Jones, a great comedian/actor/writer/poet/insert any talent you like here. You were, and will always remain, my hero.
Whaaat?? I didn’t even recognize him!!
Is it strange that I grew up with Rupert, The Adventures of Tin Tin, The Hobbit, and David the Gnome? These were beloved stories I wish to share with the next generation
I used to watch Rupert bear on TV an I had annual Rupert bear book
I love Terry Jones
I completely forgot about Rupert he was as iconic as Winnie and Paddington. defo deserves more recognition.
Terry Jones's Wind in the Willows film 'Toad's Wild Ride' was magnificent and i would love to have seen him bring Rupert to the screen!!
I found Rupert from the Commodore 64 game, Rupert & the Toymaker’s Party, and suddenly recalled him today for some reason
oh my goodness my grandparents had the book "the only one in existence" with a dust cover too
I have one!
Rupert Bear is 100 years old today
Your very welcome! you might be interested in my facebook page?
The link is in the video description,I try to add new images each week...
Shame there's no nod to Mary Tourtel in this episode
The Rupert stories, for me, are the British equivalent of Carl Barks' iconic Uncle Scrooge adventure comics, because both depict anthropomorphic animals dealing with supernatural forces.
Pat Mustard up to his usual tricks at 3:21, Milky man!!!
Erm, no mention of Mary Tourtel?
Actually, yes, Terry Jones gives her credit in episode 2.
I love the casual reference to Coon Island. I don’t think it’s the sort of thing l would have said to children in 1982. Oh well
Just how it was back then.
La casa de la muerte la ciudade de la muerte la rua de la muerte
El año de la muerte ....and so on
Wow, a group of orientals in the UK in the 80's
