Wow. I much prefer the Kowa 6 photos over the 500C
Honestly baffled how good the Kowa compares. Been thinking of selling my rolleiflex for a square SLR, maybe that’s worth checking out as a Hassy alternative.
I'd love to get my hands on a Rolleiflex. I've been looking around in hopes of doing a comparison with one. Fingers crossed.

Just was searching for info about an Kowa six and stumble on your feed, must say it’s a nice and very refreshing channel. As a Hasselblad shooter must say, I’m very impressed on the kowa. Images looks more contrastive and somehow it has a nice bite.

I had one of these cameras a long time ago. Loved it. The lenses were as good as one needed. What are you using for scanning your images?
Loving the Kowa content!! And great channel! Can you share what lens and lens hood is on that Kowa?
It's a rubber flexible one that came with the camera according to my friend who let me borrow it.
i have used both cameras, it's worth mentioning that the viewfinder in the kowa is much brighter with a 3d like image, build quality is second to none
Superb! Personally I like the 500c photos thr best a bit more punchy with contrast.
Great filming/editing. 👍 love pictures too, the ones from the Kowa under the pier are beautiful (despite nasty light leaks.. )

Damn that light leak was bad enough to imprint the numbers from the backing paper? I was actually kinda feeling that. I'm not sure which I prefer but I thought the shot at 6:43 is really good.

I think the Kowa was the clear winner but I might be biased. Great contrast. Even the light leaks look artistic. I need to take it to Walters to fix the issue. I think it only affects color film due to material. My GL690 has the same issue with color. Great video.
Put some Portra through the Kowa 6 and let me know if it works out. I'm curious if an issue with the film paper.
@@TalyaAdams Have the counter mechanism looked at to see if it corrects the issue. I had the same problem....my go to guy in Houston, Riley Ansa fixed it. Also....read today that a "small' nail pushed into the shutter release will allow the film to advance. Seems the shutter release does not engage completely with the counter. Love ALL of these shots....light leaks included. Film is a serendipitous endeavor!!!!! Love my 2 Kowa 6 cameras!!!!
big fan of the light leaks from the Kowa; I have a soft spot for older non-Western made cameras even when they don't work correctly you can get some beautiful results
Yeah. I’d use this camera for more artistic/experimental shoots for sure.
