Gracias so much for your unique solution! The small containers with screw-on lids seem ideal & inexpensive as well as safe against other animals getting into them. Interesting about the pherimones!! You might also consider another draw back to highly toxic poisons in spray cans or other methods: The warning labels are often huge & few seem to take them seriously. But if anyone researches people & pets getting poisoned or permanently damaged by them, I don't think anyone will ever want to use them again. My family is one such family. My son & myself have suffered for over 30 years from exposure to pesticides, all used by others as directed. One of our cats that was exposed in 1989, became very ill also & died prematurely. God never meant for us to use highly toxic concoctions to kill and degrade his creation. Instead we can work in harmony with his creation and everyone is healthier & happier. Thanks again!🙏🕊
Thank you HanDIYman 007 for the informative Tutorial, Once Solution of borax, water and sugar cools down the solubility of water will decrease and the sugar will be at the bottom, In my opinions it might be best reduce the amount of sugar one should added
We've had exterminator come 3 times before for the last 2 years, this guy charged 175$ and spread I guess what was boric acid, and he has almost wiped out the whole colony 3 days later, I know there's eggs and little ones still coming tho.he garunteed it and also put it in his mouth to prove to my Gpaw that it won't hurt pets.
This recipe works great! The only thing I would add is to keep it away from pets and children. Borax is toxic and must be handled with care. For this reason, I would recommend using small glass mason jars for the solution. Secondly, the mixture crystallizes and becomes like glue making clean-up very difficult. Make sure you clean up any that has spilled. Once it has dried, it will be very hard to get up. I check the bait containers and refill or add water, as necessary, about once a week.
@@inkbold8511 True. I was thinking more about keeping it out of the reach of children and pets to avoid ingestion. The estimated lethal dose of borax for children is 5-10 grams, or about one teaspoon. For adults, the lethal dose is 10-25 grams. However, even smaller amounts can cause serious health problems, such as vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, seizures, and kidney failure.
@@fredthe47th I wouldn’t recommend trying it yourself. If you do ingest two to 3 teaspoons of borax, it won’t go well for you. This I promise. If you do, however, choose to ignore my advice, please do a live stream. 🤡
Borax is a type of salt. They've used it for years and it can heal arthritis. It's an awesome holistic medicine and it hurts big pharma so they are trying to make it illegal to purchase.
I used a small amount of boric acid with some sugar mixed with water in very small bowl and covered it with a flower pot upside down right where the ant trail was out side I didnt see another ant for three years

Well i'm not shore about the proportions of water...if you put 5 table spoon of sugar, 3 spoons of water and one of borax, it's impossible to result such liquid form, for example, no?🤔 I used way more water to the mix, and it turned after one day like sugar candy hard...
What he means is that you don’t have to measure… get a cup (if you want to) fill up: - 1 time with Borax - 5 times and pour each of sugar - 3 times water. There’s your mixture..
I had luck getting rid of sugar ants by putting flea bombs under my house. However, I don't want to kill good spiders so I will be giving this a try . Oh, good spiders as in Daddy Long Legs.
Well either way....borax doesn't kill cocoroaches as effectively as boracic acid Borax vs Boric Acid Borax and boric acid are distinct formulations of the same compound. Borax is a naturally mined crystalline solid used in cleaning and insect control. Boric acid is also naturally occurring and used in similar applications. Both borax and boric acid contain the element boron (B). Both borax and boric acid will dissolve in water. And both are toxic when ingested. Boric acid and borax are easily confused because they contain the same compound - the chemical element boron. They differ in their chemical makeup, potency, efficiency in insect control, and applications. Here’s more about these three unique materials: boron, borax, and boric acid. Boric acid kills insects in two ways. And there is a trickle-down effect. Internally: In the stomach, boric acid is a stomach poison, and affects the metabolism of the insect. Externally: Boric acid powder is abrasive to their exoskeleton. This doesn’t kill them immediately, but over a period of a few days, it slowly shreds their bodies. Because boric acid doesn’t kill insects immediately, they often make it back to their nest to die. This allows more roaches to be exposed to the powder. Both externally by contact. And by their cannibalistic consumption of their dead co-workers. This allows the same powder to kill multiple insects. No wonder boric acid is known as “the gift that keeps on killing.”
Mixing Borax and sugar is one of the easiest and fastest ways to create a powerful lure that will kill roaches in your home. Simply add equal parts of sugar and Borax to a container and sprinkle in infested areas
Some poisonous spiders are best dealt with with sticky traps you can buy at Walmart and hardware stores. It's like 5 traps for $8. I needed them for Hobo spiders.
3:46 This measurement in ml I tried it, inaccurate. 5 + 1 + 3 not equal to 9, as sugar and borax diluted in water, capacity will reduce. It will be less than 7. I did 50ml sugar + 10ml borax + 40ml water and get only 70ml solution.

Borax (like Di-Sodium Teraborate, Na₂B₄O₇) is toxic, but not commonly used to treat insect infestations due to its ineffectiveness. Especially cockroaches and ants. What you're confusing is boric acid (Hydrogen Orthoborate, H₃BO₃). Though both consisting the same element (Boron, B⁵), they have significantly different properties, and have different ways of killing an insect. Borax does not work in the way you said it, rather works as a toxin that is dispersed throughout the insect as it is digested. Boric acid works in two ways; deteriorating the lining of the digestive tract, and (in cockroaches at least) scratching their outer coating causing infection, thus killing the insect. Insects can easily grow a tolerance to borax (hence why it's ineffectiveness, they'll eventually just grow into a new generation that is not affected by borax) since borax only works as it is digested and carried through the body, however boric acid will be chemically impossible to grow an immunity to, as it will quite literally deteriorate the insect at an atomic level rather than just cellular.

It is about as toxic as table salt to mammals and it is horribly bitter.
It's not that toxic compared to everything else in your home. As in you can handle it with your hand and it's fine if you just wash off after.
