Thanks for the video. I am scanning with a V700 and noticed that I could not use the full scanning glass area to scan some old basketball magazines, so knowing that there are some limitations to the scanning area will allow me to figure out a new workflow to archive my magazine collection from my childhood. Cheers, Dave

What function do the coins serve? I saw a guy online who had an 8x10" jig made that was 1mm thick, which is where the scanner actually focuses (above the glass as they do on the Epson jigs). Another used coins to elevate the film over the glass... eliminates newton's rings. I have yet to find a place that can 3D print one (too big and too flimsy) so I may have to go to a machine shop and have one made by CNC.

The coins were simply little weights to help hold the corners of the film-window and film flat against the glass. I have the scanner settings set on "film with area guide" and haven't had any trouble with scan sharpness.
