As a musician I can tell you this song is different and pretty amazing. The songwriting has sorta hollowed out a new niche in metal/hard rock.
It sounds like Mastodon flushed their creativity down the toilet, were then neutered, thus trading in any semblance of something good in for felt, wide-brimmed hats and re-runs of Sons of Anarchy.
This is the "prettiest" song lol exactly what I needed to hear #gospel...for real though I love these guys

Nick Lee is my new guitar hero. Such unique playing and fresh sound. Some of the riffs on the album remind me of some bluegrass influence. The whole band is super talented. Love the clean guitar on this song.
I hear a lot of influence from Thomas Erak, the guitarist from Fall of Troy. This is similar but a little more accessible lol.
