Nice start is a great investment. You star your run with 10 levels once you have it maxed out. Also, you get a huge return on levels invested if you max out xp buffs for any of the characters that have them as passives. Finished a run the other day with Amaranth at lvl 209.
To be fair, it was basically my first time playing since the early access started, if you check some of my later videos on it, it does move up to Rag 1-4 ish

You also have slots for the upgrades from leaves, so you can do builds for separate characters

It's 100% worth it. If you haven't started it may be worth holding off playing till 1.0 though since it drops on the 26th

Im 38 and was playing this game while watching mania all weekend. Take my sub and look forward to more runs in the future. The game is so fun.
