Are you sure jusant his a french word ? Because I don't know it. But if it is a word associated with climbing, maybe i just don't know it, not being a climber myself.
@@ChristopherOdd Just looked at a dictionnary, it IS a french word I didn't knew, an old countryside one i never heard before, meaning "low tide" as you said. Not low tide exactly (it should be "marée basse"), but the moment the sea is backing off from the high tide if my undestanding is correct. I was not expecting learning a french word on your channel 😁. Can't tell about your pronunciation, tho, never heard the word in the mouth of a french person.
I looked up piton myself since it's a common piece of D&D equipment and I've only ever read it. It's "PEE-taan". Oops, I've been calling it a "PIE-ton"
10 years bouldering here. this looks so cool! the movements look natural. the wootwork might be a bit cheesy but notice the low hanging in their shoulders? saves you sooo much energy. dlove to see some crimps and slopers and more technical core and balance stuff :)
Same. Definitely another vibe game!! I guess us aging gamers are more into vibes. 🤔 I've done some climbing, too, and this game looks schweet! As someone without a lot of skill or forearm strength, I'll have to live vicariously. I, uh, also have a thing about falling. But it's never the fall; it's the sudden stop at the end.😎
I'd love to see more of this from you. Honestly I'd love to play it myself, as I really dig the world and the vibe (reminds me of Journey and a lesser known game called RiME) but I have a disability that affects my motor functions, so I'd imagine the controls would end up more difficult and frustrating for me. Watching you play it I know there would be plenty of focus on exploring all the nooks and crannies, just as I would.
As for your question regarding climbing and hand holds, it doesn't seem too bad. Keep in mind, you aren't just climbing some "random mountain," based on the presence of the anchors, these are clearly well-traversed, established paths for climbing, so it makes sense that they wouldn't be too spread out. As a climber, I do wish it would focus on footwork a bit more as that's vital to climbing as well, but I understand that from a control perspective, you want to prevent it from becoming "QWOP for climbing" and being too awkward. My only other big complaint is that the protagonist is primarily doing a basic "spider-man" climb, which is fairly energy inefficient. I'd love to see some hip-ins, laybacks, underclings, and maybe some crack climbing, but again, I understand that for general audience, that might be too much.
@@Ermude10I thought about that as well, but with RT and LT being the arms, and RB and LB being raise and lower, Y for investigate, X for pitons, B for retract, and A for jump, I don't know how they'd work it into the control scheme. I am still hopeful that the climbing complexity will increase as the game goes on, but it is a bit limited by the control scheme.
QWOP for climbing does sound pretty tedious and frustrating but I can see a mechanic where every so often you need to check in with your feet to keep your stamina regening or something...
The vibe and the style of this game is so interesting indeed! The whole composition of the world is absolutely marvelous. It's just so full of wonder that it triggers my curiosity, wanting to keep knowing more and more. I feel like they totally aced that!!! I also have the feeling the "tides" are not quite related to what we´re used to. So there's even that layer of mystery added, just amazing!!! 🙌
Oh my God, I am so excited. I know the game because they release a demo several months ago. I want to try but sadly, I can't play it, I don't have a good PC. And now I can watch you play the game instead. Thank you!
I got this game last night and was “just going to have a look” *next minute it’s 1am and I’m climbing a Tower like a pro 😂 It’s very smooth and relaxing while at the same time terrifying when you look out and down. Brilliant game, very much enjoying it and hoping you continue as a series in the hope that you find a few things I missed. 🙏💚
Both Sable and Jusant are games that play at your own pace and each share very similar artstyle, gameplay and logic solving solutions. Also, it's on Gamepass, so many games, so little time....arrrgh.
I really enjoyed this video! It's such a good game to enjoy the ambient sound, the views, and to listen to Odd talk and find out more about the world the game is set in. It's been a while since I've felt a sense of wonder, and this game really brings it. Would love to see more of this game!
I played a demo of this game during Steam NEXT Fest, glad to see it getting some recognition! Definitely very cozy, and I like how tactile the climbing feels.
This is the kind of game I would suck at, but would love to see more of, appreciate you're busy with games right now, but the story here just seems nicely intriguing!
Chris, I enjoyed this as well. I would love to see you do more of it. I am intrigued with the storyline and would love to see you unravel the mysteries. It seems to me that there is something 'special about out lovely main character as well... All the best brother.
So many bad reviews for this game, what an absolute gem this truly is though, a breath of fresh air for any gamer 💪 I hope to see more from this dev, maybe some dlc for it if they can fit it into the lore 🤞
@@gabrielfernandesabreu6952 in the Xbox store it's got a few bad reviews that I saw, all I'm saying is they're not valid, it's great. Not sure why you commented at all, you agree with me 🤷♂️
Was thinking of playing this but it literally made me ill to watch you climb at some of those angles (I mean this as a compliment to the game). So there's no way I'm going to play it but it looks really beautiful and the story is so intriguing that I would love to watch you do a full playthrough instead.
How's my pronunciation?
S-tier!

My french friends didn't recognize it either @@nekomiaou 😆

This is a great example of artstyle > realistic graphics
True dat. Much more refer stylized graphics for most games, rather than boring “good” graphics
100%. You don't need to have "the best graphics" to be a great experience. But DON'T NOD has always taken that approach.
This is fantastic, and I'd love to see more of it.
Nice. Really like the vibe. More please 🙂

Thanks for bringing these cozy games to our attention. Personally love Dome Keeper. Might give this a try as well.
Dome Keeper is more stress than cozy, but you're very welcome haha.
@@ChristopherOddI just had to think of the 200 or so times you just barely made it back into the dome in time and went like 'ouff that was cozy'
Would love to see more, definitely a vibe game just like Dredge.

Surprised that there was no comment about the bathroom and the three shells (26:57) Game looks amazing
Last place I expected a demolition man reference tbh.
This game looks so good!

Yeah, I also noticed that it's very focused on the arms and less on the legs. Maybe there'll be more variety later on?

As me playing V in Cyberpunk 2077 with Mantis Blades and Killing Maelstroms before dinner to playing this game...Major Warm Vibes. 😁☺ Great Game!

Perfect game for Mr. Odd. I'll probably get this one.

Love watching you playing these vibey games Odd, please keep playing Jusant!
So u can go back and find the missing collectibles
