You know what I love about this scene? Out of all the strange, out there creatures that make up the mighty nein, from Tieflings to Half-Orcs to Aasimar. Out of all of that, who are the worst at being people? The humans.
Caleb and Beau having a serious and emotionally vulnerable conversation with their friends coaching them in real time is honestly the biggest mighty nein mood
My favorite part was Matt going "Wecome to the Mighty Nein!" until a few commenters pointed out Laura and Sam feeling her baby kicking and now that's my favorite part XD
I just love how everyone applauded XD I also love how Beau was looking to Fjord for help and Caleb was looking to Yasha for help. Such great character development and interactions. I freaking love everyone so much!!
I know a lot of people are all like "beau wouldn't actually apologize meh meh meh" but I loved this moment so much and it was great and really... awesome.
What surprised me about this was Beau’s outburst in the first place. She’s usually the one that maintains her suspicions of others till the very end, but she lashed out at Caleb and used the secrets he shared with her against him for something I thought she would have agreed with. Tbh I wouldn’t have forgiven Beau so quickly if I were in the same place as Caleb. I’m happy he did though; would’ve made things very tense in the party
@@GioFireheart No she didn’t. She never used any specific details. She still kept that secret, but was also reminded of how she never got any freedom of choice. And that’s what fueled her half of that confrontation. Seriously, Bowlgate was stupid and ONLY because the fandom made a bigger deal out of it than it needed to be.
After having finished watching the campaign it's super interesting to go back and watch things like this. The relationship dynamics are really great in their growth. Particuarly between Beau and Caleb.
Ok this video is old but I’m nostalgic for early M9 and 1- wow I miss Fjord’s old voice. Like don’t get me wrong, I like his new one even better, but I miss Texblade Fjord just a bit. Also 2- I never caught Fjords ‘while you’re ahead’ at the end there, it had me dying
This is opinion-heavy, but pretty much in the previous episode, a guest character wanted to retrieve an artefact, not knowing what it did, but knowing it was important and dangerous. M9 agreed to help, and when Caleb found it (by himself), he identified it. Caleb learned it was a really powerful item, capable of communicating with one of the betrayer gods, reaaaally dangerous stuff. So before giving it to the guest character, he explained to the entire team (including the guest character) what the item did, why it was dangerous, and that they should be certain they can trust that character with the item before giving it to her. Most of the team dogpiled on Caleb immediately for witholding information, making decisions for the team, not knowing how to communicate etc. Beau goes out of her way to be physically rough with Caleb, brings up his past trauma, which he confided to her privately, in front of everyone, and generally berates him for the entire encounter. This was a huge event called Bowlgate back in the days, because everyone argued about it. To this day, you'll find comments on episode 21 of people saying they hate Beau because of this episode, how they're tired of the team badmouthing Caleb, that kind of stuff.
It wasn't that she didn't trust him. Although at this point I am not sure if she 100 percent trusted anyone. It is that her past baggage was about having her choice on how to live her life taken away. Her dad paid for a high ranking member of cobalt soul to basically kidnap her and force her to join. Eventually her new master with the cobalt soul, and the mighty Nein help her come to terms with things, but at this point she still has major issues.(also her first love and partner in crime betrayed her to the guards) So Caleb wanted to potentially keep a major artifact that could be used for some good, or to kick off some apocalyptic stuff away from a person, who needed it to try and do some good and do what they felt they needed to do. When that happened it triggered her trauma about others deciding her fait, so she snapped lashed out at Caleb, used her power to make a decision for him, and said he was acting badly because of his past. At the time missing that she was acting badly because of her past and Caleb was being reasonable. She figured it out after the fact, and realized she needed to apologize. This is all from the POV of the characters.
@@arhalts Eh, don't forget that everyone else had more or less the same reaction as Beau. Jester, Beau and Molly dogpiled Caleb instantly. The difference is that neither Jester nor Molly freaked out like that and started becoming physically or emotionally agressive towards Caleb.
@@arhalts He at no point indicated that he wanted to keep it but rather that they should not just hand something so deadly away without making sure of the other person's intentions first. All he asked for was a day so they could use Zone of Truth to learn the person's true intentions.
She was right in that he doesn’t get to control people because of his past and because he’s smart. He was right in that they need to be cautious of everyone and not take people at face value. They BOTH did a terrible job communicating their point.
@@austinboylan5476 Also, it was because Beau was reminded of her own trauma and thus it influenced her argument. In fact, I think nowadays they’d look back at that moment and laugh. And Caleb was also still incredibly wary of the group and still thinking of them as “an alliance” as opposed to “friends”. That said, despite talking over each other, they still had valid points. And they both got better at understanding each other over time.
I know I'm late, but after rewatching and reading comments and stuff the thing that annoys me the most about bowlgate and their relationship in general is that people always want and expect beau to apologize like she's a bully or something. But Caleb often does not properly communicate his points ij the beginning and as much as he says in the beginning that he is not trying to be a leader he often makes a very leader like decisions without consulting the group which I feel Beau probably was a bit too familiar with to let slide.
@@adrinalinekid2320 100% disagree on the communicating bit, but let's assume you're right. Could you explain to me why someone who doesn't know how to communicate deserves to be dogpiled by their whole team? Why do they deserve to have one of their friend become physically and emotionally agressive towards them? And, assuming that all of the miscommunication gets cleared up, why WOULDN'T Beau apologize, if it was indeed just miscommunication?

"A little person makes mistakes and lets them go on"

"No, little like in their heart, their soul"
-"Oh ok yeah, like Nott."

🤣
I didn't notice the first time but while Beau and Fjord are talking you can see Sam and Laura watching the baby kick! ❤️
It’s so adorable! ❤️
1:45
That's so cute!
And Liam looking over attentively, bless them all
Sams trying so hard to hide his excitement, and Liam immediately tuning in once he sees what’s happening
Gaaaah they’re all so sweet!!
I would also appreciate a social interactions coach like Fjord to tell me "Hug a little more, kay back up." and "quit while you're ahead." cough.
I agree, that would be great!
Fjord's Social Healing for Grumpy-ass Wingmans

oh my god thank you for pointing it out this is... just... Can't. My heart. *drops*
Eeeeek!!! The baby was kicking!!! Awwww I'm so excited for Laura and Travis XD
Also look at matt's face :)
My heart exploded.
You can also see Liam taking in the scenario like a protective/curious brother at the same time.

Begrudging parents Fjord and Yasha are my favorite
I love awkward people. They are my people.
"i don't know what I'm doing just go with it"
Beautiful
I love Travis's (Ford's ?) "cough-Quit-while-you're-adhead-cough".
Fjord. There's a silent J

Ah, my emotionally stunted empire children...
The awkwardness of a stubborn monk and hobo wizard is something I never thought of happening, but I'm entertained regardless. XD
I love how the sessions went from this to a looming sense of hopelessness and dread - some A+ storytelling

Daww baby kicks!! I love Liam and Sams reactions. So endearing. Such a family!
You'd never know their previous characters spent a good bit of time last campaign sharing a bed from how awkward they are here.
They were pretty akward there too
I read the title and thought it would be a video of beau and Caleb putting makeup on, and now i really want to see that.
I miss this side of Fjord. He was level-headed and logical. I'm not sure what to expect from Impulsive Fjord.
I was having the same reactions as Matt during this. :D
Like that 0_0 ?
4:28 Liam tries to make Caleb laugh and now I think I know why he never laughs in character.
I think the way Beau says “friend” with a question mark the second time is so sweet.
Fjord: *cough* quit while you're ahead *cough*
LOL!

This is the cutest. And the last comment from Fjord always makes me chuckle.
I timed it. It actually was 20 seconds.
This is honestly so cathartic. I was heated after the previous episode. So this, no joke, made me cry.

I love that Fjord is sort of the Team Dad. (We definitely know he’s Daddy for Jester 😏)
Mighty nein was just made to foster travis and lauras paternal instincts for the baby :p
And the team grows stronger(Happy dance!)
Top table really gave such top tier sibling energy 😂❤
These videos are gold, thanks for making them!
if this part isn't in the animated series we riot
these disaster people
This was Art
I believe this moment of them making up is going to be fanart :) XD
I love how they are both socially inept (at this point anyway) and they have no clue what they are doing either side of the interaction 😂
In which Sam about becomes Ronin's Godfather
dad makes big sister apologise to little brother
Funniest part.. their characters were married in C1. Haha
Do they use Oblivion music as background noise or am I mistaken
I know its 2 years later but.. skyrim, specifically.

anyone know what the past tense of "yeet" is?
