I almost bought a different brand but the salesman directed me to the Ciro brand and its quick latch for securing and removing the phone. That's a great feature. The other brand you had to screw it tight.
I just ordered the fairing mount and phone holder for my wife's FLHTCUTG. I used your link so hope you get credit for the sale. If you aren't on their payroll, you should be. I never would have bought this had it not been for your great video. Keep them coming and be safe....
Perfect timing for this DIY!! I have been trying to figure out what phone mount system to install, for two months! ('16 Road King) >>> CIRO>>>WINNER! Thanks John!!!
Ciro is great stuff john. And they keep expanding their line of products. Everyone needs to check them out. They have more than just mounts. Side note: seems there is a hardware disconnect with most manufacturers. I bought a black license plate housing for my Road Glide that came with chrome screws. WTF people?
Hey John, just picked up the unpowered holder today, and the Black Perch mount...Happy to say, all of the hardware with the Perch are now Black. They must have listened.... Already loving the mount. Lucky my Local Harley shop, carries all the Ciro mounts.....
I bought a phone mount and installed it on my 2019 Street Glide love it totally holds the phone in and out easily adjusts easily good stuff fair price too. Been using it for 2 months By the way John your video on Ciro forward control foot pegs I love those too never would have known about the brand without your videos ride on...
I picked up one of these on my recent trip to the states. I was made aware of this awesome product because of your videos John. Great product and great videos.
John, I use the phone for GPS as well as for phone calls. I had a Ciro powered mount on my Sportster, mounted on the left. It was wired to the battery and was hot all the time. It was also a bit too close to the toggle switches. Being hot all the time made me nervous, after the short cable shorted out once while the bike was parked. I traded the Sportster in for a 2018 Heritage (kinda like you did, but mine is a 107), and connected it to the USB port behind the fork with a 40-inch cable. Now it is not hot all the time. Cables for both are available on the internet, but you have to look for them. Nice video. Thanks.
Thanks for taking the time and doing these videos and reviewing products, wish more manufacturers would send you stuff. Perhaps i'll get one for my T-bars.
Nice looking mount system! 1.3 amps is not enough to charge my phone while using gps. I typically use 2.1 or higher to maintain the charge so the screen can stay on while using the gps. Thanks for the great review video!
I really like the Ciro 3d products that I have. Non powered phone mount using a perch on the right side, cup holder on the left side and filler lights between the fender and saddlebags. I really enjoy your videos also. Did you notice that you and Shadetree surgeon both uploaded videos today that were both 15:56?
Thanks for the Vid. I ride a Road King and cell/GPS navigation is my next project. I had been thinking the HD power port mounted low on the bars and just plug in like I do in the car. I only need the GPS/phone for non local riding and want something unobtrusive. Don't want to see it if I don't have to. May look at the non powered set up if there's a quick way to attach/remove the mounts. Definite "less is more" fan...
Thanks John. I bought my Premium Smart phone holder with charger, I went with the Mirror mount. When asked how I heard about them. I put in John Maxwell.
John, You said that you would route the wire to the middle of the fairing. Would you put the hole on the windshield side or the rider side of the vent? Thank you for all you do for us that need a little guidance.
Nice video, I need a mount and will look into Ciro. I'm sure you are well aware that the softail lineup has a USB port on the left side of the tank towards the front, at least on my 2018 FXLR. Page 24 figure 6 in the owners manual and page 93 but it is not listed in the index
Try mounting the perch mount upside down. Makes your phone fit much better behind the handle bar instead of sticking up so high and accomplishes the same thing
John, good video. I have a 2012 FLHTK, please do a vid on on checking and adding air on the stock mag wheels. It's a total pain the ass to check and add air. I and others would love to keep the stock wheel. What would you recommend for an offset valve stem that would make it easy to check pressure. My rear is doable, but the front sucks. I get tired of pushing the valve stem to the side so I can screw on the tubing on my HD air pump...
Great video. Just bought the Ciro w/charger. My question is : Does running the charger cable to the battery means the charger will always be on ?And will that mean it’s more likely fail sooner ? Thanks in advance.
Love the fairing mount! I notched inner fairing, didn’t need to, there’s enough gap made by the mount for wire to go through. Still looks sharp though! What would be best to fill in the gap running between windshield and inner fairing?
I still haven’t ridden it. Every time I think I have a chance I end up getting a job. So at least it’s not super slow winter! But I still want to ride it.
1” is stock, and either the bar mount or the perch mount, it kind of depends on where you want to place it. Right near the speedo is a great location, which would require the bar mount. Left side perch mount is also great. It’s all personal preference!
John I love your videos brother keep up the good work. But I have a question on this one here. I am looking to do a faring type mount on my 2012 Ultra Limited but here is the only issue I have the leather 3 compartment storage right there behind the windshield, is there an option for someone like me without having to take out my storage compartments and not have to use a perch mount? Brother I would really like your advice. I am a 100% Service connected disabled veteran and I would like to have my phone centered and keep the storage that I use up there. please help if you can. And Thanks in advance.
John, thinking about adding the Ciro powered cell phone mount to my 2017 FLHTK. Any reason I should run the power to the battery as opposed to getting power at the power receptacle on the right side of the fairing?
I loved it for 10 years, and if it wasn’t for YT content, I’d probably still own it. Needing camera gear and wanting to upgrade a bike on the channel meant getting rid of it.
Hey John. I just bought the ciro mount/charger but it's the fairing mount. do you have a video or special instructions on that install? and are you happy with the chargers performance. I noticed there's not a 2.4ah option for turbo charging options. thanks bud
Got a Ciro phone mount last year. Not happy with it. I have no problem with the phone cradle, but it how the cradle mounts to the ball. It's a plastic nut and I couldn't get it tighten enough. With the vibration, the phone would just tilt down. I switched it out for a Tackform Solutions Enduro Series mount. It's metal on metal ball clamp. Now the phone doesn't vibrate out of place and offered me a better mounting angle for the phone. It was $59 on Amazon.
That sucks it didn’t work out for you. Did you let Ciro know your gripe? I’ve heard nothing but good things about the mount, so I’m surprised you didn’t like it!
Big John, give us a call and our lead technician Darren would be happy to assist you in this issue you're experiencing! Our number is 715-808-0027 or you can email info@ciro3d.com thank you!
Cool. But no way I could ride with that phone in middle like that with my OC AND ADDHD would drive my crazier. Hey big question. How do go about take the fuel line from the gas tank with Fuel injected? I got great I deal for video where you show us how to installing Ciro Fang headlight bezel for Roadglide. LOL
Hi there, if you don't want the phone in the middle, we have many other mounting options as John demonstrated in his video. One of our most popular mounts is our perch mount that goes next to your controls. Here's the link to check it out! www.ciro3d.com/product/50311-smartphone-gps-holder-without-charger

John Maxwell I’m completely lost! I own a street glide but don’t understand how they got the letters. Thanks for the quick reply! So far you have got back with both my questions in less than a day. Shows you care more than just getting out another video. Great job!

I've been using one of these for about six months. Holds the phone really securely and without vibration. The powered aspect makes it a clean look.
I almost bought a different brand but the salesman directed me to the Ciro brand and its quick latch for securing and removing the phone. That's a great feature. The other brand you had to screw it tight.
I'm going to pick up my first Harley tomorrow. I am beyond excited. I think I just found my new favorite TH-cam Channel!
