Linda has been my favorite since her Overnight show. I loved her irreverence (and still do). When she talked about her mother, I thought about mine. I lost my mom 3 years ago and was so lucky to have spent the time with her that I did. AND as with Linda, my Mom didn't always agree with me, but she was so proud of my independence and ability to stand up for myself and for others. Love her and miss her and miss Linda very much.
NBC NEWS OVERNIGHT was the greatest news show of all time.Linda Ellerbee was a major part of why!! Sadly, if it was on today, they still wouldn't get it.
Why isn't Linda Ellerbee back on network television 5 days a week, anchoring her own style of news program? My God, with hatred spewing out on cable and satellite programs like O'Reilly, etc., Linda would be a breath of fresh air. I wish a network like MSNBC would bring Linda on a Noon Time (ET) broadcast, and let her anchor and write, in the same style she did on NBC News Overnight. Myself and a lot of others miss her presence.
*40 years later, and I **_still_** have a crush on Linda Ellerbee!*
