1962 में भारत-चीन युद्ध के समय कहा जाता है कि सीमा पर स्थित जदूँग और नेलांग गांवों की खाली हो गई थी, और वहीं के अधिकांश लोग बगोरी गांव में बस गए थे।
यहाँ के लोग सेब की खेती, बकरी पालन, और जड़ी-बूटी का व्यापार करते हैं, और यहाँ की चाय काफी प्रसिद्ध है।
