As someone who was married to a man 27 years my senior, I quickly learned that the opinions of strangers don’t matter at all. We were together 12 years (married for 10) before he passed away. Losing your spouse is incredibly heartbreaking no matter how old you are.

I'm in my second age gap relationship. My first husband was 62 and I was 25. He was also a police officer and retired as a Sargent on LAPD after 30 years then again as a Chief of Police for five years in Arizona. He was very active and did not look his age at all. I fell in love with him and I actually pursued him. Unfortunately he passed away in 2007 from cancer. We were together 11 years. Then in 2014 a friend of our wife passed away from cancer and I was there as just a friend for my now husband. We were couple friends for years, traveled together and lived around the corner from one another. I was single for seven years, five of those seven I grieved hard. We both knew and liked our departed spouses so there a comfort in that. My husband is 75 and I'm 47. I was always attracted to older men. When my friends were drooling over Brad Pitt I was attracted to Sean Connery or Sam Elliott. I've never regretted being in an age gap relationship.

Its Jane i totally understand and relate to what you went through, the negative responses to the age gap. I’m almost 32 and i like 18 year old. Ive had negative responses from some people. People have told me i could get in a lot of trouble with his parents, i have more life experience than he does, and other negative responses. Most days i wish people would stop caring or pay attention to the age gap and realize the most important thing is happiness and love. If we make each other happy then who cares about the age gap. I hope one day people are more accepting and more positive responses. There’s been positive responses but there’s also been negative ones. I am glad i am not the only person out there who has a big age gap.
Its Jane i also felt insecure liking a teenager, in the beginning. My insecurities are a lot better now, but i still have problems with ignoring people negative responses. I do hope one day i wont care what people say about the age difference. I keep reminding myself, they wont be a teenager forever, and when he is in his 20s it will seem less of an age gap.

Also, thank you so much for addressing age gaps vs others opinions. People on social media (esp Twitter) are always on this annoying age gap discourse and trivializing such harsh words(e.g gr**ming and predatory) when it comes to age gap relationship. It’s important to note that age gaps are situational, but people seem to assume that there is always some ulterior motive. Sometimes you fall in love with people you don’t expect and it can end up being these very beautiful and fruitful relationships. Age does not matter (that does not apply to minors)

The gentleman I'm seeing is a deputy sheriff, and we're only 9 years apart, not 30, but I also met him while he was taking a report from me. I was making a report to him about a guy who had been stalking me, and after talking on multiple occasions about that case, we ended up getting coffee and going from there. Oh Mindy and Larry, I absolutely loved this video! You two are absolutely adorable! You guys give he hope more and more everyday with my relationship! My husband and I have been together a total of 9 years, we will be married for 2 years next month. He's my best friend and I wouldn't know what to do without him. I got such negative remarks when we first got together and I broke it off after our first month together because I wanted to be sure on what I wanted. Just like you I found myself constantly wondering what he was doing throughout the day and just wanted to talk to him. So I went for it and here we are 9 years later happier than ever and not caring what others think. I love you guys so much and wish you a lifetime of happiness! 😊
My husband and I just celebrated 41 years of marriage. He is 74 and I am 60. I wouldn't trade him for the world... I love watching you and Larry because you remind me of us lol.
My ex & I are 23 years apart. He left because he didn't wanna "ruin my life" & always said i should find someone my age. He never believed I was happy with him but that man was my damn soul. Hopefully he turns around one day and comes back......but he's extremely stubborn...soo.....🤷🏻♀️
