I have honestly never ran into a toxic player on Squad. I have played on the most random servers, even a full Turkish server and everyone was very welcoming despite me obviously being a random black dude that spoke very little Turkish. I expected to be kicked but that server was a great time. Imo the best time to play is like 8pm-8am on weekends when the adults and military dudes hop on. I found a respect for these guys that I never had before just by playing and chatting with them over a virtual game lol. I am not good, and JUST LISTENING to them makes me literally 10000x better. The most fun to be had on this game is with a good squad and squad leader 100%. I've had drunken nights where I had one squad leader I asked to follow around for like 8 hours of playtime I swear to God. He was the best SL I have ever played with and I hope to find him again. Bro was like a staff sarge in the army and he was drunk as shit playing on base. He was nasty at everything, an amazing leader, patient, etc AND HE WAS HAMMERED. I hope he's doing well frfr lmaooo
Awesome video from start to end. The friendly fire is probably the quickest way to find toxicity but I am glad you saved it for last. As always, thanks for doing what you do Husk
Basically to sum up the bad reviews, it's people that are unhappy with the ICO update. I somewhat agree with the disgruntled people, as your character has the strength and stamina of a 8 year old child - however the rest is pretty good IMO. Combat is just a lot more immersive than it ever has been before.
@@realhusk The thing that made me quit shortly after getting the game was how lost I was. The tutorial was great got the hang of it after about 30 minutes of practise but naturally the real matches are way different. I had no sense of direction or help in what I was supposed to be doing plus I just kept dying to things I never saw or heard coming. Ironically those new player friendly servers gave me the worst experience I've had in this game. Guess it just aint for me.
One of the best games out there. You just have to find a server you like. Playing on the "Beginner Friendly" servers is always 50/50 because many "Beginners" to Squad won't keep playing it because they are coming from less team based games and those are the ones that turn out to be toxic or play in a way that makes the game less enjoyable. There are many great servers and once you find one, you will have some crazy fun and communication.
I bought this game yesterday and played my first 2 rounds and every single person I engaged with was chill, willing to help me and didn’t clown me for being a complete dog water teammate. So far the community seems solid to me
Husk, you did what almost nobody does. Says "I'm kinda new". Saying this alleviates almost any issue the team would otherwise have with any player. so those that complain about toxicity, are those unwilling to submit to a mentality where you're putting your squad mates above your own experience. And in doing that, the game will open up to all sorts of cinematic moments that will burn into your memory, and will make the game far more enjoyable.
this is the thing. squad is so heavily oriented for teamwork and thus it can get really irritating if your team mates do not do the OBVIOUS thing in some situations and have this cod game shoot and run mentality overall. it can make some people toxic at times
After the Chinese were added there was a lot of ching-chonging in voice chat but it's mostly died down. The server licensing situation kind of works, admins are forced to ban hate speech and that means the more established servers are going to have long ban lists of toxic players. The community ban list helps as well. My best advice for finding toxic players is to find a new server, one that doesn't use the community ban list, and join at like 3-4PM when kids are playing after school gets out.
For the 350h personal experience on this game , its really hard to see a toxic player , the only toxic player i saw was just an old guy (prob. In his 40) yelling at every one because he died . But for the other people i played with are chill and funny sometimes I think what makes people toxic specially in this game , is the difficulty of the game . Its so freaking hard to master or to become a pro player , and also the system of the game that depeneds on every one on your team .
Squad's Community is not toxic, in fact its server license distribution system actually engenders some of the best admined by community standards I've ever seen. The toxicity I've seen has 99/100 times been from players not wanting to play the game as intended, not sticking with their squad etc, just wanting to broadcast music from their mic etc, and when they get asked to stop, and eventually get removed they then claim toxicity; when actually they were given many opportunities to join in with the team objective. the 1/100 has been players taking the game too seriously at the wrong time. I'm often a squad leader, and I've removed squad members who just refused to stay within 1km of the squad, I try and wait for them to be near an APC or ammo crate, so that they can get rearmed when they make or join a new squad. What happens more often than not, is that person then comes and TKs me and ends up getting banned. Some players are dicks, every game has toxic players, but Squad's toxic level is much lower than many FPS games imo.
As a squadie with over 500 hours, I can say toxicity is more server dependent. Most of the time, it’s when you join those ‘high speed’ servers ran by “former military personnel” who are predominately non-combat POGS that think they know all there is to know about modern warfare. They then implement there ‘strategies’ and when they fail, well my friend YOU are to blame (at least in their eyes). Best way to avoid negativity or “toxicity” is to join a new player server like potato fields. Hence the name, the game is full of, well… potatoes. No one knows wtf is going on, but because of that, no one takes shit too seriously. Get to it future squaddies, and don’t be shy to ask questions. Most people in this game are very helpful.
Not toxic. Over 24 hours only ran into one toxic player, he was just mad at everyone. If you are bullied its because you prolly deserved it. Thats how the world works Good comedy in the vids
I think toxic traits are found in certain servers. I’ve played for a hundred hours now and I still stick with the servers that say “new players welcome” haha. Those are the ones where I’ve found most of the guys are just there to have fun.

Some of the best games ive had an awesome friends . Good people to talk to about getting in and life in general , especially the 60/70 year old dogs
I have 1500 hours on this game and been playing since 2016. Toxicity does exist on this game (as any other multiplayer game that forces you to interact with other people) but its your job to find it. Majority of communities (at least the ones I have been apart of or played on) have a zero tolerance policy for toxicity and its rooted out very quickly by admins or other players. If you play on a server that has toxic admins/players that are encouraged by their sub community then you will have a bad experience unless you want that environment. Anyone who actually cares about the game will call someone out for being an asshole and help new players with any questions or mistakes they have. Anyone who can't drop an argument over a game is someone you shouldn't be wasting your time on in the first place.
@@realhusk I agree SQUAD feels like a war sim to a point where you have rudimentary errands, boring patrols, and insane distances. You feel a sense of duty to your team.
The thing about squad is that we should expect you to do your best, and be a part of the team. The second you get players playing music when squad leaders are trying to organise and plan in command chat, or memeing when the fireteams need to react to contact your entire team can lose the game. One guy can easily obscure information that's crucial to the team, and lack thereof leads to the death of a force multiplier, which then loses the entire game for a 50 player team, and somewhat grief the game for a 100 player server.
Most of the negative reviews are because of the ICO and every COD kid that had come to squad disliking it. Or its is new people that take marksmen kits and run the entire map away from their squad, limiting useful kits from that squad and complaining when the Squad lead doesn't give them a fire team for spotting.
Squad's community is generally so healthy... There's a lot of goofy people; there's a lot of teamwork; and there's a lot of people really willing to teach you. FIRST time i played, my squad leader teached me how to use morters; that's the first thing i did, and i felt it was very immersive and also helpful. Surprisingly, at the end of each match you feel you are or could be friends with this random group of strangers. There are some "pro" servers, or "pro" squads that usually clarify that they want experienced players or things like that (they might kick you from the squad, maybe), but most commonly you can have a great time. I think i found 1 toxic player, which was a douchbag of a squadleader and insulted me almost as i joined. Luckily i have played this for some years and i knew it was this 1 single asshole.
Squad is hands down one of the best game purchases i've ever made, that being said it definitely has it's days with ridiculous players. But it always has me coming back for more. Has a pretty good learning curve but it's definitely worth it for a great experience.
I preferred your story telling in hell let loose than your experiment in other games. They were probably a lot more work too so I can understand. Still good stuff, thanks for the video
@@macalex3 I appreciate it! Those were actually less work just cuz I did over 50 so they were just getting a bit repetitive. Wanted to switch it up. Thanks for the support
On the “experienced” servers they are def toxic, but mostly because they will hate you if you don’t know anything about how to play. Get a good squad lead and they will take you places, proximity chat with everyone can be fantastic if you’re on a good server
It depends on the server. In my experience, Squad attracts more casual gamers than milsim or otherwise dedicated players. There's definitely people who've been playing since it was a beta but they hardly care anymore because they know it's like trying lead a horse to water, you can't force it to drink. The servers I tend to play on are hosted in either Central U.S. or West U.S. and the players tend to act like they don't know their left from their right and when you lose and try to offer alternative strategies, constructive criticism, or otherwise reflect on what could've been dealt with better you're just met with people screaming over you or yelling cope and womp womp. Basically it's like people enjoy getting off work, hopping on squad and being the worst human being they can be behind a screen and microphone. I don't say that because they refuse to win or improve their gameplay but because they clog the comms with constant nonsense and screaming that isn't really conducive to winning nor casual gameplay. It's like a contest of who can be the most annoying without getting banned and I see a lot of people toe that line. The racism/sexism is kinda wild too. Like it's one thing to "roleplay" as a Russian, Chinaman, or insurgent but more often than not it's just mocking and pushing stereotypes that they know aren't true but exaggerated asian accent too funny ig. The N word is said too many times for moderators to really do anything about it without proof. At the end of the day it's a server full of gamers and they're gonna act as you'd expect people who aren't personally accountable (behind a screen and microphone) to act. It's almost like their therapy to roleplay as an incompetent, unapologetic, and shameless asshole who says a lot of shit they wouldn't say in front of their wives or the secretary of defense. Not to say you should act like a square in a video game but like dude after a certain amount of trolling it's just not funny anymore. It's not funny to me anyway.🤷🏻
Husk has emphasized before how much using your mic matters in games like this. Use your mics, gamers, even if you feel a little nervous about it. You don't need to be constantly on the mic either, as you need to leave comms clear for orders or callouts. If everyone uses their mics at least a bit you will have more squad cohesion and you will have more fun!
Hmm.... As a SE Asian (which on average I play with 250 ping at Eng servers), they usually complain about my voice, they said I talk like broken sounds, and especially at the heat of battle.
Toxic players spread toxicity I noticed it more in command roles people can be short with you and don’t want to help you learn but most of the time people are nice and willing to help
yea its all fun and games, people troll a lot for giggles but its no harm. I dont understand why people even say its toxic.. its not. On arabic servers u find toxic people if u say ur jewish.. but thats another matter. All EU or american servers are nothing but coolness. Ofc u get ur party pooper now and then but claiming it's toxic game??? Come on..
Yes and no on the toxic players. I feel like The people leaving those reviews are probably picking SL early before they know whats what and theyre playing on Exp Preferred servers, like ODM or TT etc. Those servers definitely expect you to know what your doing. Its not their fault. Its literally in the rules/Server description. Also, your a perfect example of what to do if you Didnt know how to play. Most people i run into just dont say anything and continue doing whatever
Due to that fact that most Australian servers are full when I play I end up on American servers and often find myself being mocked by the whole squad or getting into an argument about rugby and nfl Or the squad is chill and doesnt care not often are people toxic though
Husk continuing to be the most chill, relaxed, respectful, and laid back gamer I’ve ever seen is really quite refreshing. Impeccable comedic timing as well

Husk is right - there's just a small population of people out there that want to be bad and do bad things. That's life. I guess.
ICO should be relaxed a bit
This is my first time in months not seeing random squad teammates curse and absolutely obliterate each other for nothing
Ur videos are different husk, u literally made me buy hell let loose even tho im poor, anyways keep the bangers comin
lol you got to do more of these squad vids. They’re so so entertaining
squad is literally the chillest game. go blinker for blinker w the helo pilots
8:47 - This guy being really cool about it, you know he's a good friend.
Hey Husk love ur Videos keep it up🎉
Thanks!
@@realhusk ur welcome 😁
played squad for years, since update 7.0 it's pure ragebait
Squad is hands down one of the best game purchases i've ever made, that being said it definitely has it's days with ridiculous players. But it always has me coming back for more. Has a pretty good learning curve but it's definitely worth it for a great experience.
Is there hamburgers
Squad is as toxic as League during the day but has the best people you could ever meet when you play at night.
game has a large learning curve and sometimes people get pissed about that and grief or blame teammates but its pretty rare imo. 8:22 is hilarious
Yooo saying "the final plan" with blue eyes and blond hair like that is wild 😂😂
Husk has emphasized before how much using your mic matters in games like this. Use your mics, gamers, even if you feel a little nervous about it. You don't need to be constantly on the mic either, as you need to leave comms clear for orders or callouts. If everyone uses their mics at least a bit you will have more squad cohesion and you will have more fun!
I died at the cockpit explanation.
“Good thing I was there to save him” 🤣
I've never had a toxic experience in this game, i just love it
Ive been enjoying Squad. ive been using the New Player Friendly servers. always chill. at least for me.
Good evening Sir Husk!
you too
Love your videos husk , I’ve always had good interactions with the people in squad
9:00 That was a hilarious interaction lmao
Hmm....
As a SE Asian (which on average I play with 250 ping at Eng servers), they usually complain about my voice, they said I talk like broken sounds, and especially at the heat of battle.
In squad u have the most chill people and pure monsters😭🙏
Toxic players spread toxicity I noticed it more in command roles people can be short with you and don’t want to help you learn but most of the time people are nice and willing to help
Love you content !! Take care of you fellow players ❤
Squad has an amazing player base
This is a very calm vid also ridiculously hilarious.
My very first experience playing multiplayer in Squad was getting deliberately shot in the back by a teammate.
yea its all fun and games, people troll a lot for giggles but its no harm. I dont understand why people even say its toxic.. its not. On arabic servers u find toxic people if u say ur jewish.. but thats another matter.
All EU or american servers are nothing but coolness. Ofc u get ur party pooper now and then but claiming it's toxic game??? Come on..
I thought those kind of players were extinct when devs released Infantry combat overhaul
Bro try this on seige and they will eat you while you sleep
Due to that fact that most Australian servers are full when I play I end up on American servers and often find myself being mocked by the whole squad or getting into an argument about rugby and nfl
Or the squad is chill and doesnt care not often are people toxic though
