    I just inherited two from my brother that need capacitor replacing. One is a 4R36 (which I won't know the battery until it gets here) The other is a 5M63. My mother got a quote over the phone of $100-400 EACH to repair them. I have the tools to repair them myself, now with your video, I have the knowledge!

    I disassemble my Seiko Kinetic watch but forget little gear is concave or convex but thanks for your video, I able to confirm it is correct. By the way, I used the old gasket and bracket since it is the original old part and has to be fit perfect on the watch since it is made in factory. For DIYers, PLEASE make sure you have (something like in the video) holding on the metal bracket especially when screwing the SECOND screw, because the bracket can flip up and the screw will jump off and you may miss the little screw forever. Thanks for the video.

    Searching for Seiko SJ22 movement capacitor replacement. The video starts with other Seiko movement so at a first glance this video was not suitable. Then found it at the end. Thanks. Did it in my SJ22-0D60 successfully but things look much smaller when you're doing it with the naked eye.

    There is a much more horrible one than the Arctura there, that being the Pulsar Antonio Banderas Kinetic... you have to gingerly with a screwdriver try and find the little tab under the dial to release the stem and its evil hard to discover it as its a wholly top loader like the Arctura but the setting lever isn't the same arrangement nor are there cutouts handy to use. Took me couple hours fishing to discover the damned thing, very frustrating capacitor change, the actual cell itself was a doddle :S

    • @dodgydruid
      @dodgydruid ปีที่แล้ว

      As insomnia claims me I thought I would have a video up or two, am actually changing the cell in a 5M62, I was lucky too as I had bought a 24T in error when they were only a couple of pounds and I won off ebay a virtually unworn Seiko Kinetic with a dead cell for very silly money, glad I didn't send back the erroneous purchased cell saving me a fair bit at todays prices :D

      Certainly true, and if there is still a nice history attached to the vintage watch, it is important that the watch case is not polished because the scratches are part of the story.
