    Dream drift car build for me would be a c33 laurel finished in gloss black, with some work vs-kf wheels, a built 30det & a custom wisefab steering kit. Tuerck should know what an rb30det is as he was in tauranga and lost to them 😉

    Forsberg / Tuerck. What do you think of my drift car....94 Mustang V6 Convertible. Stock motor, coilovers, welded diff, Grip Royal wheel, bucket seat, no ebrake, no angle. Most of the tandem class guys at my track said that since I can drive a "bad" drift car pretty well, I'll do great once I upgrade the car more. I've done 4 events now so I'm planning on getting my knuckles modified and getting a hydraulic ebrake.

    Question: Harness bar, is it absolutely required or is there a safe mounting position for harness without the bar?

    • @maxkohler6223
      @maxkohler6223 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      farieed sankar dont need a harness bar if you can get a 45° angle without

    • @funnyshowyouknow
      @funnyshowyouknow 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      farieed sankar in some cars with decent back seating you can mount the harness using the back seatbelt holes. Never, ever, ever, mount it under about 45 degrees. It'll compress and snap your spine.

    • @TWIRKNOLOVE
      @TWIRKNOLOVE 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Do not use a harness bar for a track day.
      Maybe an autocross or light canyon carving. They are dangerous if you roll the car; leaving you no room to bend your torso if your roof caves in the way a regular OEM 2 point belt will let you.
      Roll bar or half cage the car if you intend to take it to a track with a harness.
      If you can find seat belt bolts where the rear seats used to be in the back seat they are safe to use as long as the angle of the harness belt doesn't go below 45*.

    • @stairmaster3001
      @stairmaster3001 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      240 GURU for racing i would suggest it. My brother has a sr20 in his hatch and he runs valvoline vr1 20w50 as well. My KA i used to run max life valvoline 10w40 but that was when it was mostly street driven and would see a track event once a year or so. Now its a drift car and i go to as many events as possible so I changed over to the 20w50.

    4th and 3r pre pre pre preeeerrrrr. Awesome. What seat rails have you guys fitted? I have driftworks superlow rails and my head still skims the headliner with my helmet on. I could recline the seat by raising the front side mounts a notch i guess (Sparco Evo 2 bucket in an S14). Looks like America is the place to be for drift parts, we are a bit limited over here. Love the progress, one of my favourite shows at present.

    Your thoughts on the necessity and usefulness of roll center correction following coilover install (1.25 in drop on a S2000). Vehicle used for road racing and back roads mostly. Are any of the components vital or more important (shaft spacers vs RCA). Thanks. Mike.

    Q&A I have a s13 with and lsd when I turn and I'm giving it gas I have a clunking in my rear and you can see me wheel kinda shake in a way, when I don't give it gas and turn it's fine. I pulled my diff to check my spider gears but there fine I don't think it's my cv joint and all my lugs are tight, what could it be I'm in desperate need

  • @nononanonon
    @nononanonon 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Harnesses are incorrectly installed. You're supposed to use at lease 2"x4" plate under the floor to keep it from ripping through in case of accident. They're made by most harness manufacturers, FIA tested and cheap. Side belts shouldn't be mounted to the seat bracket. They should be mounted to the chassis using the plates or into factory mounting points. You can mount them into the floor seat mounting points in worst case. Never to the seat bracket tho.
    I recommend reading Schroth manual (even if you've different brand harness). They've invested a lot of money into research and the manual documents the safety requirements very well.

    Question- So I drive a Z33 I have bride low max seats, status harness, harness bar (obviously) nrg short hub with a sparco wheel. When I do go to the local drift events I have my seat in the up right position with the seat close up front... being that I am 5'1 my foot is still fully extended on the clutch... and I hate it.(specially on rainy days!) What are my options? Can the pedals be adjusted? I can try to adjust my seat on the rails closer but I believe it's pushed forward enough(Planted seat rails). Or just buy extra bride padding~ Thanks!

    So our group recently wrapped up a turbo upgrade on a ka24 dual cam in an s13. Since doing it, we've been having a ton of cooling issues despite having a decent koyorad radiator, high flow fans and ducting to help with direct airflow. Time for rear mount radiator or are there other options?

    • @cameronharvey4530
      @cameronharvey4530 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tj Long did you bleed the system?

    • @speedfreakteej
      @speedfreakteej 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cameron Harvey oh yeah fully bled, even tried running no thermostat. Old setup made around 400hp to the tires, low boost on the new turbo is making considerably more than that and we aren't even beginning to push the limits yet. Car is all tube front end so remounting isn't hard, but we're trying to decide whether or not it's even worth trying to remount the intercooler further forward if the whole system is just going to heat soak anyway.

    • @cameronharvey4530
      @cameronharvey4530 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tj Long huh, that would have been my first guess. The only other things I can think of is a bad water pump, heat soak, or not a proper fan set up. Well, hopefully you figure it out!

    • @samkeay2601
      @samkeay2601 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They fit. Most with this sort of inline six FI build tend to run the turbo under the boot floor with rear cooling systems. You can't run big power realistically without modifying the firewall/front structure somewhat which makes your cars safety to be compromised if you don't know what you're doing. :) Upfront cooling would require some serious tetris skills and heat wrap abilities. 😎

      SUPR VR obviously not fully straight you can hurt yourself doing that. What you want is what comfortable with you. Make sure you can turn 90 degrees without smacking your inner elbows or elbowing yourself in the groin. Keep the wheel out of your crotch and you're good.
