ZICO's lines are not really translating well since his punchlines are mostly based on Korean-specific wordplays. "I'm catholic, so even in the face of death I never lost faith in my art" is a translation of "난 가톨릭 죽을 위기에 처해도 절실히 예술을 믿었었지" and it's a wordplay on the words "예수를 (Jesus)" and "예술을 (Art)" being pronounced the same. Melon in "I swallowed up all of Melon" is a reference to Korean music streaming service called Melon. "내용은 몰라 그저 책잡기만" is translated to "Don't even know what you're saying but you keep talking", which is the general gist, but once again it's a wordplay on the word "책" which could mean book, but also fault. And "Hide your identity because you never had one" is also a wordplay. It's originally "실명은 꺼리겠지 보이는 게 다니까" and if translated literally it means "You would avoid 실명 (which could mean 'real name/identity' and also 'blind eyes'), cause what you see is everything."
But aside from those lines, the translations cover almost every punchline! I think they did it on their own so they convey the most little detail as possible.

it makes sense that they probably did it themselves. I recently watched an interview with Epik high and it's not easy translating Korean to English because of wordplay or words in Korean that simply can't be translated.

Zico lyrics Im a Catholic because I believe in Art in Korean is a double entendre of Korean Jesus/art. Which sounds simmilar Yesu(Jesus)/Yesul(art). Its a bummer that some of the lyrics loses its charm in translation.

Zico is an incredible artist and rapper as well. One of the best in the business. I highly recommend you check out his songs "Any Song" and "Human".
He also did an awesome, jazzy collab with IU called "Soulmate".
As for Epik High, they really are the ogs. They've been at it since the early 2000s. This is their tenth album. They massively influenced artists like BTS, in particular RM and Suga.
Epik High consists of 3 members. Tablo is the first one who raps here. He's the leader of the group and a master lyricist. DJ Tukutz is their producer. He doesn't rap or sing in any of the songs, but he produces the beats along with Tablo and appears in their mvs with the other members. The last member is Mithra. Mithra is the one with the growly rap voice and the beard. The other (much younger) guy who rapped here, starting the second verse is Zico. Hope that it clears it up for you :)

The whole album is worth checking out man. Also, the guy on the first verse is Tablo. To me, he's like the korean version of Eminem. The guy with the beard is Mithra Jin. Their producer is DJ Tukutz. Epik High is notorious for their song writing skills. They can go melodic and meaningful, to heavy punchlines and wordplays. You should react to Born Hater, it's a heavy boom-bap rap cypher kinda track responding to their haters. I'm gonna stop typing now, love your reactions btw!

Also this song is more about the whole “WOKE and cancelled culture” and of course to their antis/haters. It’s damn true that EPIK HIGH, CL, and ZICO.. has inspired this generation of idols. They literally paved the way and opened these opportunities internationally for the new gen to continue spreading korean music... not just kpop, but khiphop, k-r&b, and k-rock.. even Korean trot or Korean novice songs. Mind you... technology and social media.. social platforms wasn’t so advanced back then. We get access to so many things nowadays.. content, English translations, TH-cam, Twitter, TikTok, and etc wasn’t at the fore front from 2003-2013. But 1st, 2nd, and early 3rd Gen Korean artists truly started everything and set the records.. and literally PAVED THE WAY.. instead of talking BS like these haters or antis.. they should appreciate and respect them.. they all inspired these new groups/artists.. even the most popular and hottest Korean artists looked up to EPIK HIGH, CL (2NE1), and ZICO (BLOCK B).

I think this song is getting more attention because of CL and Zico, honestly. You're certainly right that some reactors only follow trends or big hits or certain popular groups. I've quit watching a few channels because they never react to anything in interested in or to older groups/non-current or smaller/non-popular groups (although I've never unsubscribed). I do prefer channels that have a mix of old and new Kpop and especially willing to branch out to different Korean music. Sticking to only popular Kpop gives a limited view of a vast array of music.

Speaking facts, EPIK HIGH is one of the older generation hiphop group (18 years totally) , they were former YG ENTERTAINMENT artists, same goes to CL, they really have paved the way to many young K-rappers these days, such as BTS SUGA..

Zico has so so much to offer and has so much talent. His songs are always amazing imo, in terms of production and lyrics. So many i recommend you to listen to like: Anti, bermuda triangle (ft dean and crush), human, another level, extreme ... etc.
When I think about Tablo and media I always think about his song DEAR TV, I love it so much knowing the hardship he went through because of them
Zico’s “Hide your identity because you never had one” is also a poetic clap back to haters online (hiding behind a username) who said “he was dead and over” and then he killed it with “Any Song” which is the Melon chart reference. Living in Korea and watching the drama from haters makes this song like a diss to them in a way. Allllssooo, the vertical format is in a way the diss format, i.e Born Hater
Zico started as an underground rapper with his friends one of them being RM from BTS, he then became the leader of the kpop group BlockB and wrote and produced most if not all their music. He got so much hate especially from the hiphop community for being in a kpop group, he got even more hate when making his own label that everyone thought would fail when he proved them all wrong by killing it in the charts. He has a few songs about what he’s went through with the hate and criticism and he has a unique flow and can switch up different styles. I would highly recommend checking out - Bermuda Triangle feat. Crush and Dean (two of his friends from his hiphop group Fanxy Child also watch the one with eng subs), Veni Vidi Vici, Anti and Okey Dokey (Mino feat Zico) those are my top recommendations, but Tough Cookie, Say Yes Or No and Artist are also good lol. Epik High is a 3 member group - Tablo (first rapper missing his heart), DJ Tukutz (guy with the sunglasses) and Mithra Jin (rapper with the facial hair who looks like a mob boss lol) They had a huge influence on the music industry, but also went through hell when a group of trolls started a rumor that Tablo lied about graduating from Stanford University and it blew up into a huge scandal even though Stanford themselves came out and proved he had graduated with a degree, hundreds of thousands of people still didn’t believe it and it got so bad with death threats that him, his wife and daughter had to leave to go into hiding, but they overcame it and came back stronger eventually, but their lyrics always have so much meaning behind them. I'd also suggest their song Born Hater feat. Beenzino, Verbal Jint, Mino (from Winner), Bobby and B.I (from Ikon). Always love how real and genuine your reactions are and will continue to watch and support you the best I can 😊

this isnt the first time epik high released an MV in vertical cam. They did it back in 2014 with Born Hater, another iconic song, that's when vertical cams wasn't a thing in kpop, kmusic yet or just in general.
Epik high is a 18 year old group consisting of two rapper, tablo mithra and a dj, tukutz.
Their tracks are composed produced by the members. They make their own beats and produce everything from scratch.
Epik high might not be the most popular group now but there was a time when they were very popular they even went to coachella. They also had a lot of hit songs.

Man sells out any venue Hes booked at and is the most highly respected idol rapper in the industry (next to Bobby from ikon). Some of my favorites include Predator, Anti, Extreme, Genius (behind the scenes), veni vidi vici. Also check out his crew fanxy child with their songs Y, fanxy child, and paradise
this song hits different by the way that the bars they are spitting are referenced from all the bullsht they've went through life. Tablo epik high's front man, Zico, CL they each had gone through worse in their careers yet they have overcome it and has nothing but in an even more better place. This song is legendary in every way, no the entire album is. Musicality, lyrics wise and starstudded featuring line up. You should check out more from epik high!!

Most of his songs are half korean half english. Some songs are 100%english. Ambush, 간주곡, polytheism, twist the plot, forgotten, looooose controllaa, Bougie are the best songs i recommend

The part when the rap goes "hide your identity because you never had one" i think is for his haters. Cuz you know people be keyboard warriors and spread unnecessary hate on the artists. Also, the lyrics before that said "zico has fallen on his high horse, but a year later, i swallowed melon" tells a lot about how he come back from failure and hatred to who he is now. He makes great songs. And epik high, oof no words. Just poetry, word play and mindfucking plots. To interpret their lyrics, is more than just love. They make songs about their families, their friends, their journey as musicians. They survived through a lot i gotta tell you. So, keep listening!
most of the time, zico is pronounced zee-ko, but he tends to introduce himself before he starts his rap (like in this song) as zee-ah-ko. another rapper who does this is his bestie mino from winner. mee-no. my-no. but his real name is minho. while zico is jiho. it's just similiar.

I’m sure someone else has already commented something similar but I didn’t see it so I just thought I’d share: Epik High is a K hip hop trio that started up back in the early 2000’s. The trip consists of Tablo (first verse in the room with the dog), Mithra Jin (mob boss looking dude in the 3rd verse) and DJ Tukutz who is their producer and DJ and he’s homie in the glasses in the beginning and also gets shot by Tablo while laying in bed. They are great, would love to see you react to more of their stuff!

About the remote, what I think/thought is he is turning the "TV" off: so shutting up everyone/killing the haters/media/whoever talks sh*t, you can cancel them out and ignore them, like you don't like something you are watching on the tv and change the channel/turn it off. Also not much work to do so (like the dusting you off part). I love this song, I looooove Epik High, and I loooove CL (I was introduced 20 years ago to k music by Rain, and some years later the first band I really got into it was 2ne1).

Epik High isn't your typical Kpop group, they are somewhat like poets of the modern world, i guess because their songs always have this deeper meaning and usually their song topic are not something that everyone gets to talk about.

The one you mistaken thinking it was the guy before(Tablo) at 06:00 was Zico(he said it in his rap). Years back Zico has scandal, and knetz was attacking him(thats why he mention identity, that wasnt there in the first place), Zico career when downfall. The first time I listened to this I literally paused in every line cause Epik High are like poets and you really have to chew on their lyrics to experience their music to the fullest.
This is my first time finding this channel and am already a subscriber. The way he read the lyrics and try to understand the meaning of each bar and try to explain the deep meaning is something that I don't find often in reactors anymore. Thank you for appreciating Korean music and not only the visuals!

What's funny is that Epik High used this video format in their MV Born Hater (2014).... a good time before TikTok came (2016). So, them using this format again? My interpretation is that instead of trying to "stretch their horizons to new eyes"... they're EDUCATING a whole new generation of people of what it took for their faves to get where they are.
