Takes me back to my windsurfing days. Though I never tried anything quite so ambitious, this really captures the spirit of windsurfing. Really good series.
Excellent! What an amazing trip. You have a good dose of bravery. Going past the cliffs must have been both exhilarating and slightly scary. As you said, "It's fear that causes danger", and you kept it in check!! I've never been to Hastings. It looks like a nice little seaside town. Looking forward to part 3. 🙂
I know nothing about windsurfing but enjoying these videos immensely. Hastings much nicer than I'd of thought, bet that beer tasted pretty spectacular too!
Bravíssimo!!!! Following and enjoying your trip from the southern most country of the word! I would love to do such kind of trip but distances between towns here are really huge Congratulatios! Keep enjoying, I'm anxiously waiting your new deliver!
Cool adventure! Coming from Maine USA where we have big tides (12 ft where I sail). Windsurfing can be tough during max flood or ebb without reliablewind. Good job with it all.
What a great adventure and so inspirational. Love the positive super friendly attitude. We need more Henry Cartwrights in the world ! Great shots of the south coast, we love it around beachy head, we have a little Dufour 32 in Sovereign harbour Eastbourne genuinely feels like you’re on holiday when you are down that way.
Loving this so far. I've never tried windsurfing....spent a couple days having kitesurfing lessons and found that quite challenging! Looking forward to the next episode Henry.
Great work Henry, really engaging adventure. So inspiring to see someone who knows and understands the Sea. great sailing knowledge too. A real inspiration to dig out my gear and get back on the water. Keep up the adventures.
Well done Henry , it's fascinating watching your journey . Also it's really lovely to see the different places you visit . Wonderful to watch . Thank you very much , very entertaining 😊👏👏👏🌀🐬
Very inspiring!!! Informative seamanship, humble, and I love your down to earth postive narrative. Very happy to have discovered your channel. All the best in this, and your future endeavours!!!
Good work... well done! I have an inflatable Startboard WindSUP. Not sure the trip would be as comfortable on that! However, the air and water temps are more agreeable here in Southern China! Looking forward to the next episode 👍
Having grown up windsurfing all along the south coast, I know most of those spots well. Now living in Scotland this has inspired me to do some touring around the islands next summer
Awesome dude. I windsurfed ~’85 to ‘95. Those shots where you had some wind hit me like a ton of bricks. I could totally feel it in my soul. Can’t wait for the crossing. 🤙 from Huntington Beach California
Great Video, great Landscapes, awesome adventure. South England is really beautiful. I‘m wondering that there are nearly no other surfers or kiter. Greetings from Germany
Wow Eastbourne Pier looks majestic. It's like a windsurfing history lesson. Well done I'm seriously loving this adventure. Keep sailing. I hope starboard pick you up and sponsor you.
Amazing, such a great adventure. Always wanted to just keep sailing on and on. Did it once up Bridlington 5.4 sail, old BIC speed needle board and 30 plus knots just kept going and going. The problem was I had to walk parts back lol. You are living the dream.
Nice, Simon taught me to sail dinghy during my brief introductory membership to the NSSC and sailing in general, really nice guy and club and a fun Easter egg while watching this great entertaining video
Great adventure, hope you have a good day for the crossing. Windsurfing without a support boat through one of the worlds busiest shipping lanes takes some balls.
Amazing adventure, really looking forward to the next instalment. I’m a foil windsurfer in Cornwall and would love to have an adventure. If you ever head to Falmouth, be great to hook up for a sail 🤙😎
Well played Henry. Nice little adventure sailing to new places. I'd like to know the furthest distance you have covered in a day whilst windsurfing, and what do think your potential maximum could be?
Great adventure Henry. I gave up watching TV many years ago because of much more interesting content like this. Your zest for life shows through and it's always good to see people who will say why not instead of why when a challenge comes along.
A great update to episode 1. I know all those places fairly well, visited many times. Beachy Head and Newhaven have many special memories for me. It's amazing seeing just what you can do and how far you can travel using the power of nature alone. I love anything wind and solar powered.
Fab video's Henry, I am loving the content. I am a yachtsman so I have a good knowledge of the sea and how fickle she can be. You have balls of steel my friend.
What a brilliant set of vids. Watched all three, three times in the last couple of days. Im desperate to get back to windsurfing after long break and this was really inspirational. Also read the book you mention which is a truelly great read. Just one small thing Hastings is East Sussex not Kent. Thanks Henry.
Hi John, thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed! I would say definitely get back into it - it's a beautiful sport and doesn't need a howling gale just to get on the water and have fun! Ah yes, I attempted to correct that county slip of the tongue in episode 3!!
What a fantastic adventure Henry! I have thoroughly enjoyed these last 2 videos and am eagerly awaiting the third. (just subbed👍) From a surfer without a sail, I wish you all the very best.
Nice , great footage inc drone . Nssc is my local club , id say brighton sailing club is the trickest place to launch but lets not split hairs 😂 the varying sea conditons was intresting - your unlikley to ever be more exposed to them than on a windsurfer
How does windsurfing compare to wing/foil surfing for long distance adventures, 6 knots sounds like very little. Love the production, and spirit of the videos. Looking forward to the next episode.
Is there a similar blog of videos of the guy who went round the entire uk? I always wanted to sail it or wind surf it but I'd reckon neither is an easy option. Good effort on your trip so far.
Brilliant so far. Nautical miles better than watching TV.
I can't believe you brought a drone with you in your backpack windsurfing. really looking forward to the rest of the series.
Gotta be done!
“Fear creates danger” - classic Henry!
A super adventure, Henry. That fish and chips looked really good. Looking forward to the next episode. A big thank you.
Haha v much my speciality! Cheers Mike!
Really enjoying your epic journey, beautifully filmed and edited. Look forward to the next episode.
Takes me back to my windsurfing days. Though I never tried anything quite so ambitious, this really captures the spirit of windsurfing. Really good series.
Another fantastic adventure Henry thanks for taking us with you mate.
11:30 "Fear creates danger, not vice versa" - very wise words! 👍
Awesome viewing Henry. I like how your resting face is a smile. That’s how I know you are going to complete your mission! Great mindset!
Great video. Really nice following your adventure. Love your enthusiasm that transcends throughout the entire video. Looking forward to Ep3.
I know nothing about windsurfing but enjoying these videos immensely. Hastings much nicer than I'd of thought, bet that beer tasted pretty spectacular too!
Luvin this! I was a windsurf nutcase back in 85! Still have all my gear including a Lightwave Custom Wave Board. Just 70L volume. Well done!
Bravíssimo!!!! Following and enjoying your trip from the southern most country of the word! I would love to do such kind of trip but distances between towns here are really huge
Congratulatios! Keep enjoying, I'm anxiously waiting your new deliver!
Loving this series, thank you!!

Very entertaining and fun. Thanks for making these videos!
Great trip, very inspiring. Looking forward to the crossing 😅. Ref. your comment about varying conditions, I would recommend an adjustable outhaul.
Thanks Nick and good call!

V nice of you to say so, glad you enjoyed! Love a Dufour!
Fabulous again Henry. I have sailed all along there in a Hobbie. I stopped at Portslade for the night.
This is very well done. I am enjoying your channel

Great videos, really professionally done .Great adventure spirit 🤘
Fascinating stuff
I wonder what the go pro would reveal fixed under the board
Loving this so far. I've never tried windsurfing....spent a couple days having kitesurfing lessons and found that quite challenging! Looking forward to the next episode Henry.
Epic, good effort. Greetings from Salisbury !
Great work Henry, really engaging adventure. So inspiring to see someone who knows and understands the Sea. great sailing knowledge too. A real inspiration to dig out my gear and get back on the water. Keep up the adventures.
I'm not surprised you ate a double fish and chips. Do you eat anything, gells or bars, when your sailing? Looking forward to next installment.
Well done Henry , it's fascinating watching your journey . Also it's really lovely to see the different places you visit . Wonderful to watch . Thank you very much , very entertaining 😊👏👏👏🌀🐬

Haha, awesome. Following every second!
Nice one and welcome back! Thank you!
I thought I was brave going from West Mersea to Bradwell!!! 🤣
Good work... well done! I have an inflatable Startboard WindSUP. Not sure the trip would be as comfortable on that! However, the air and water temps are more agreeable here in Southern China! Looking forward to the next episode 👍

Very nice trip and cool videos! You may work on the exposure, especially on the still images :-) Keep it up! John
"I'm resting my head against this groyne" - well aren't you a lucky boy 😝
Really cool series, watching back to back.
Great Video, great Landscapes, awesome adventure. South England is really beautiful. I‘m wondering that there are nearly no other surfers or kiter. Greetings from Germany
Love the cheeky smile cropping up as he spoke to Simon, very wholesome.
Wow, huge respect from me, absolutely subscribing to your channel.
Wow Eastbourne Pier looks majestic. It's like a windsurfing history lesson. Well done I'm seriously loving this adventure. Keep sailing. I hope starboard pick you up and sponsor you.
It's been many years since I've found someone worthy of subscribing to. You sir have ended that drought. Awesome content. Keep up the great work.
Amazing, such a great adventure. Always wanted to just keep sailing on and on.
Did it once up Bridlington 5.4 sail, old BIC speed needle board and 30 plus knots just kept going and going. The problem was I had to walk parts back lol.

Awsome adventure Henry, love it. Hopefully you have had a safe and fun journey across to France.
Brilliant!! 😊
What an adventure! I didn't know longboards were still around. It makes me want to get back into windsurfing. Thank you sir!
Absolutely loving the series. . Good for you such a big adventure. I can’t wait to see the next show.
А если что-то оборвется? Или ветер закончится 😮
Great adventure, hope you have a good day for the crossing. Windsurfing without a support boat through one of the worlds busiest shipping lanes takes some balls.
Love your adventure
Found this epic journey by chance , FANTASTIC , really enjoyed so far ,well done Henry .
Amazing adventure, really looking forward to the next instalment.
I’m a foil windsurfer in Cornwall and would love to have an adventure. If you ever head to Falmouth, be great to hook up for a sail 🤙😎
Bonkers!
Definitely made in Britain.
Bravo!

Great channel that randomly popped up for me. Looking forward to more of these episodes 😊
Awesome, thank you Donald!

Shared this onto my sailing club Whatsapp group I am impressed with your endeavors. When are you going to release part 3?
Now following.
good job, can you tell about your gear and particular preparation?
Epic video all the best for the crossing ⛳
Fab video's Henry, I am loving the content. I am a yachtsman so I have a good knowledge of the sea and how fickle she can be. You have balls of steel my friend.

Well done dude! Excellent story telling; you've got a real talent
Pretty sure you can also see Liverpool Cathedral and maybe Portsmouth Cathedral from the sea!
Brilliant. Inspirational.
Loved every minute of this, what an adventure
Great series, I hardly watch anything good on TH-cam, but this series is great!
Love it - not a windsurfer but respect anyone testing themselves in whatever sport they're interested in. Have a sub 👍
What a fantastic adventure Henry! I have thoroughly enjoyed these last 2 videos and am eagerly awaiting the third. (just subbed👍)
From a surfer without a sail, I wish you all the very best.
Top work once again mate!! Looking forward to the big crossing.
fear creates danger is a very good point. i don't windsurf, but this applies to a whole host of other sports
Inspiring. Can t wait for Part 3!
Well done Henry, looking forward to the next episode :)
Enjoying this adventure! London seems a long way to go for a bed though 😂
Great stuff! Looking forward to the rest of this. For the record though, Hastings is not in Kent.
Great video, popped up in my suggested so hopefully algorithms are working for you.
Great progression! finger crossed for the crossing!
Loving the videos, have you thought of an Exmouth to Plymouth? Or Torbay , good stuff Tim
Great content, epic adventure (BTW Hastings is in East Sussex).
Good point! Thanks!
Nice , great footage inc drone .
Nssc is my local club , id say brighton sailing club is the trickest place to launch but lets not split hairs 😂
the varying sea conditons was intresting - your unlikley to ever be more exposed to them than on a windsurfer
What a great adventure, that's some viking DNA you got there for sure
That took some guts, sailing though the busiest shipping route in the world
How does windsurfing compare to wing/foil surfing for long distance adventures, 6 knots sounds like very little. Love the production, and spirit of the videos. Looking forward to the next episode.
The LSD would be terrible at Eastbourne if it was not for those groynes! Nice trip looks like fun.
cor, many many years ago, my old CO, bill bailey did this with a few other army mates, and he was hung over !
Great adventure! What is the size of your Ezzy Sail?
This is turning into an epic. Excited for EP3
Hastings is Sussex
keep it up dude, loving these
do you switch the sail size or is it always the same sail?
thx for takin us on that special trip, i love such competitions, too! 😍
Well at least we know how to ship the invaders back to the mainland.. excellent mate
absolutely stunning!!! u got balls !!!! what kind of sail did u used?
Thanks! 6m ezzy!
such an awesome video!
fyi Stephan van den Berg (NL) windsurfed from Holland to England in the '80ies.
Is there a similar blog of videos of the guy who went round the entire uk? I always wanted to sail it or wind surf it but I'd reckon neither is an easy option. Good effort on your trip so far.
Jono Dunnett wrote Longstanding Ambition instead of making vids, enjoy!
Im now ready for some fish and chips in Hastings old town...
Fair play mate cracking job
