  • I ate at The Worst Rated Chinese Restaurant Buffet in Chinatown London England. The Hong Kong Buffet has some bad reviews on Tap Advisor so I thought I'd head to Chinatown and review it for myself. Is this the worst Chinese Restaurant in the UK or are the reviews wrong?

Dude, don’t fall for the bad reviews. English lads turn up after 20 pints, then eat two plate fulls, and blame the food when they chuck their guts up. If it was so bad it would have never lasted in Chinatown.

It's Chinese, luminous sauce with even more luminous chicken. Don't really know what fine dining, people or yourself are expecting for £10.95. Knocking it down for underdone chips is a bit of a p*ss take if I'm honest. You at a Chinese. Its like going to an Indian and marking it down because you had a bad omelette.

Looks like fair price for fair food to me, especially being in London, i think as someone has already said that they may get a lot of drunks going in, being greedy then puking, blaming it on food, not the worse buffet i have seen, a lot of variety as well.

Love the bit about a ten percent service charge when you are serving yourself... Also remember when those shops charged £4.95 for same thing two years back... Don't get caught on inflated prices drinks, that's where they make their money.

I've eaten there 5 or 6 times. Sure, it's not the best Chinese food in the world but for a cheap buffet in London's Chinatown, I think the food is quite good. Taking value into consideration, a solid 7.5 for me.

Yea, the problem with all you can eat chinese is that because it is put out and stays warm on the serving station, it all goes a bit 'sad'. Best cooked and eaten fresh.... some things survive this hostile environment, but certainly not anything that is supposed to be crispy.

Fries should be banned at oriental restaurants. U don't eat fish n chips with fried rice or noodles then why in hell should fries or onion rings end up in a Chinese or Japanese or even north Indian buffet. North Indian because just like London ain't Britain. So is overseas Indian food whole of India. There r maybe 12-15 types of ind food. Sad to see rest of ind food never shows up

I enjoyed that buffet last time i was there , To be fair its hard to keep the spring rolls crispy, if its not a fast turn over !! Worth the money! Just around the corner, Leicester square, was the best fish and chips, not cheap but the large fish was really good, and good tastings mushy peas , blink you miss the place very small, great staff, always busy , seats outside,

Hi Lee! I love Chinese Buffets. Due to the fact you can pick and choose a bit of everything you like and as much as you like too. Drinks are expensive but most restaurants now will charge £2-3 for a soft drink so it’s no different to me in a Chinese buffet really. All of that food looked great. I don’t agree with getting food while not wearing a mask though. Certainly don’t want anyone coughing or sneezing over the spring rolls etc

Ha ha was that dog howl a canny bit of editing when you said you hoped the chicken ball was chicken? Not a bad price though for where it is. 6.7 for me. 👍

To be fair I was expecting a lot worse for a place that’s the worse rated in the uk I didn’t look that bad and you seemed to be enjoying it 6.5 from me

Mr Mac. 12.40 you are bouncing off the ceiling with the MSG. Are you aware that Soy Sauce, Hoisin Sauce, Yellow Bean Sauce, BBQ Sauce, Stock and pretty much everything else that goes into Chinese (and most other nations food) food is another form of MSG. It makes I larf when I see signs in Chinese restaurants that say "no added MSG" So if they don't add Soy, hoisin etc to their food, how do they get the Chinese taste? Anyway my friend, the point that I am trying to make is, do not fall for all of this MSG is bad for you rubbish, good old fashioned salt is far, far worse for you.

doesnt look bad at all! however i was wondering, the buffet counter is meant to keep the foof hot and safe to eat but it seems weird having it in the window...

how can we rate it when u dont really specify the flavours and taste ? u just say ok, thats not good enough. looked ok to me so why didnt u go for seconds ? i have been to worse than that. doesnt deserve that bad rating. also the restaurant down the road u mentioned u paid 69 pounds for a meal and was hardly any different from the buffet, maybe u should of gone there and see why they charge so much, just because its London these ppl charge atrocious prices. to me i would of felt ripped off paying that some of money for a chinese meal
