- As part of our continuing series "On the Road," Steve Hartman has an update on the story of Myles Eckert, who gave his newfound fortune away to U.S. soldier. The 9-year-old didn't realize his investment in kindness would yield such a great return.
"Everyone dies, but only few will be remembered" His dad is hero and he will be remembered forever. RIP sir, your son will become a great man just like you.

I watch this video whenever I have lost hope. Myles Eckert is a better man at his age than most of us can ever hope to be.
What a precious random act of kindness that touched and inspired so many! I hope that he remembers how easy it is to be kind to others and will continue practicing kindness throughout his entire life. May he insipre others and become the type of leader our country desperately needs.

It's a crime this video has only been viewed a couple million times while tiktokers get 10x the recognition. This kid is amazing. I would've straight bought $20 worth of junk candy. This kid saw someone he had never met before, recognized his service, and honored his dad and all armed forces members across the world. I can't even imagine the emotions that particular soldier felt receiving that note (which was the TRUE gift).

I view this when I want to rekindle my faith in humans. What a breath of fresh air Myles is when he could have easily keep the money. I'm sure Mom is proud and Dad is looking down with a big smile. Myles is what I aspire to be and I am 51.

What a fine young man, he not only honored his father but taught all of us humanity, love, dignity and gratitude. He thought of others more than himself. His father was a hero who made the ultimate sacrifice, his mother is a hero for the love and values she taught him and he is hero who showed all of us what one person can do simply by caring. Way to go Myles!

My best friend is a gold star wife. They didn't have children before he passed, they tried but none stuck. She just had her second baby girl last March with her second husband. 😍 I hope his momma has found love in her community. Terri Irwin has never dated and Robert was less than 2 when Steve passed.

As a Vet in the Navy Med Corps. This young man and kids like him were the reasons why I put my uniform on for 14 wonderful years .
It's over 2 million raised now. And Myles was recognized by congress. His Father is extremely proud looking down on the little light he left the world, shining so very bright.
It is stories like this I love to see. Stories like this watched by almost 2 million people and only 5 thousand had enough time to press the like button. The likes are what makes videos like this, spread over the world to give people a smile and the joy of watching humanity at it's best. It is sad to see how few people care enough to make the effort to give it the chance to reach everyone. Loved the story. ♥ Stay safe ♥
