I'm right with you on your final comments. It's worth a try to clean and/or use your the old disks, but the alternatives can be just as good. And it is a bonus if you have the boxed copies to look at. I'm thinking of going down the Gotek route just to speed things up as I don't have the time to spend on just one computer. There are so many other exciting things and other projects to try as well. But the Amiga will remain my fav forever. I've been using emulation recently and it's been great so far. Thanks Chris.
maybe remove the labels and recopy then on a new disk. I couldn't be bothered with all that hardware and repairs. I just use an Emulator now but you are doing great keeping the Amiga alive. love your videos.
I got one of those cleaning kits of retrobears good lady wife, yet to try it in all honesty. I agree, I'm not really bothered if discs or cassettes load.
Shame you couldn't get them working. You might be right about the protective cloth being contaminated by mould but with your next video in mind maybe you should grab a greaseweasle and write the .ipf (i.e. the original game including copy protection) to a new disk and do the transplant?! 🙂
I've just watched Rob Smith's crazy disk cleaner contraption video, then I see this one straight after! Since you are both at Kickstart 2, I hope you took the disks with you to try his cleaner, though it might eat them :-)
I've been at Kickstart 2 today, and it's an amazing contraption. Especially the Windows 98 startup sound! I'm going to take some dirty floppies down tomorrow 😂
I was just catching up on your videos from 4 years ago when you originally picked up your Batman pack and ten star pack. It's been a journey!
Wow thanks for coming on for the ride.
@@aussie_retro_dude9253 I'm doing the same right now. I missed so many videos from the beginning and it's a blast.

I do have a grease weasle as it happens. I've just not set it up yet. First dish restore I'll do with that is gunship, as that's just a data issue.

Haha I just was that running in the flesh. Cracked my up
