I remember seeing those at races in the 80’s. Leicester Noble used to ride them I think. Amazing to see how they’ve progressed after I’ve been out of touch with mountain bikes.
Thanks James, it's a bit rough and ready this one but it does the job and it sorts of suits the industrial Orange feel ;-) Have you watched the ride video that goes with it?
Absolutely great video! Here in the states we love Orange Bikes too! One day I’ll be able to afford an Orange Four or Five. That single pivot, no nonsense build is what makes it so appealing. Hope products and slick colors make for a dream build, the hell with all these super plastic bikes, I’ll take a long heavy trail bike anyday! Cheers from NY!!
For all the haters that moan that Orange's are overpriced... this is why. Proper quality, handbuilt bikes. Great to see some more behind the scenes Guy.
I had a 2011 P7 that lasted me until this year, that only failed due to rusty chainstays which was through lack of care unfortunately. I’m now saving up to buy a second hand Orange Clockwork 120, will be my first non 26” mtb. I’ll only ever ride orange, their bikes are bulletproof
Orange hit a bit of a financial glitch, but all seems well now, I pulled a P7 out of the skip about a month ago, it was filthy, rusty, there was a paint/rust corrosion thing going on at every screw thread point but the first thing I done was saturate the thing with WD 40, let it rest, and wiped it to a light coating. Now I could see what good condition it really was. It's amazing how bad dust, dirt, light rust, can make a bike look. I now have, (with not too much work), a cracking bike, ive still got to enjoy it yet, but already, it feels like a fun bike. Respect👍
Tom Bowman in normal times they regularly do demo events and so do their dealers. I’ll ask the lads at Orange if anywhere is still doing them at the moment.
Love it Good see Made in Uk wee was world leaders at build stuff back in the day Good see would Love work place like that.. That what i did bee four Guy fabricator welder would love work there and build my Own bike ;0) cool Video could not sleep had watch your Video ;0)
@@GuyKesTV that explains it then, just bought a P7, would have been nice to see "Made in Yorkshire" on the box instead of Taiwan being a Yorkshire lad myself.
Sorry fella, didn't see this previously but Simon has answered below. Crush used to be semi folded/box section but now it's all tubular and far east produced.
How is this tubing method in anyway better than hydroforming..I respect that they decide to make everything in house but seamless, hydroformed tubes obviously opens up more design possibilities and better weight/strength ratio.
I'm a bike tester not an engineer. Orange's argument is that this allows them to control quality and tolerances much better than using 3rd party tubing and vendors. Plus they can evolve and evaluate right there in Halifax literally on a day to day basis. The latest frames are pretty competitive on weight and it certainly marks them out as unique. Whether you agree with them or not is entirely up to you and your wallet ;-)
I absolutely love mine!!!
What a absolute treat to see the birth of a bike.
great video, would love to see more like this
Thanks Church, sorry it's been a bit quiet on here recently. Hopefully pushing on again now as soon as the 2018 bikes start arriving.
please do report on the new cotic bfe! a look inside cotic and their production would really be great

Another entertaining, informative video - keep up the good work! Great insight with a personal touch.

They've got fans all over the world for good reason. Keep your eyes peeled for a full factory tour and review of the Hope bike on here soon too.

Great vid Guy keep ‘em coming!
Nice vid. Nice seeing these tours.

That’s awesome, enjoy riding your ‘new’ Orange
I always wanted an Orange, I hope I'll get to try one soon and decide short after!
don't get one. i had a 4 for a year and the frame cracked. I didn't have any bad crashes so they are just bad bikes
Bought an aluminium o back in 94, great bike.
thank you for the video! loved it!
I've just pre ordered a orange flatbar gravel bike called the speedwork, arriving next month... would love the Guy Kes seal of approval 😉
All my mtb bikes are Orange. Just got an Alpine Five RS. Its unbelievable. I wouldnt buy anything any other brand of bike!!
Good to see the ‘shandy drinker’ still working there 👍🏼 (watch the orange guy Martin video)
Yeah, I know
Great vid Guy might even look at buying me one.
Don't think they do Tioga Disc Drive's as an upgrade anymore Darren ;-)
Well Tioga needs to get on to it again 😎
Should I buy an orange 5 or devinci wilson carbon?
Great now I want a five too
Haha, it's hard not to visit there and not come away thinking that!
I am a bit late but can you please tell me where I can test orange bikes, can I go to the factory or is there any places I can try it out

Best of British!

You'll have to check the Orange website for any jobs going ;-) BTW Orange Stages 29er head to head should be going up this weekend
Good to see. Ya Know.
Scott Pyatt 😂
I'd love thousands to afford one, what are they like used?
They're great as there's very little to go wrong with a single pivot. Apart from the pivot and you can get those bearings super cheap.
@@GuyKesTV cheers for info, i may treat myself!
Where are they made?
HI there! Is it the fizzy Orange or the atomic Orange that we see on the bike?
I'll find out as I can't remember for sure.
what kind of spray gun is that?
Juan Carlos Jaramillo I’ve asked Adam at Orange so hopefully have an answer next week.
Juan Carlos Jaramillo just heard back from Orange, It's a Wagner Prima Sprint
@@GuyKesTV wow, thank you.
How can I get a job there?!
Ya know
Sorry Matt, I try and hunt all those suckers down and erradicate them but a few always escape.
My orange hard tail was made in Taiwan
I never realised Taiwan was a suburb of Halifax!
Dan The Man FS bikes are all Halifax built, tubular and carbon are Far East.
@@GuyKesTV that explains it then, just bought a P7, would have been nice to see "Made in Yorkshire" on the box instead of Taiwan being a Yorkshire lad myself.
The Crush is also made here?
No, the tubular framed hardtails are made overseas. All the folded monocoque suspension bikes are hand built in Halifax though.
Guy Kesteven I thought the Crush's a folded sheet frame too
Was once upon a time, now its only the Four, Five, Six and the Stages equivalents, and the 324.
Sorry fella, didn't see this previously but Simon has answered below. Crush used to be semi folded/box section but now it's all tubular and far east produced.

All my bikes are orange, Sage 6 launch edition, Alpine 6 factory and crush all 2017 models
"Aren't bikes BRILLIANT"... (see the fast show)
"You know"
🤣 guilty
Ya know .......
I know (ahem) I try and edit out as many as I can. "Like I say" is another one that crops up way too much as well 🤦🏼♂️

Alex Anderson doesn't have anything good to say about them nearly took his life
