As someone who has driven EVs for the last 12 YEARS, I have to say they're ideal if you own a home and live near a city. If you live in the middle of nowhere or you are in an apartment, they're less ideal. It disappoints me to see misinformation in these comments about EVs. My car, in the city, gets well over 150 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent), making it VERY inexpensive to operate. No oil changes, you can pre-heat or pre-cool your car in a closed garage, you can start each day with a full "tank" without going to the gas station. My car has about 6% degradation in battery capacity over 5 years, meaning this car will last for a LONG time. Even at the end of its life, the batteries can be repurposed, meaning they're not just dumped in a landfill. As the grid gets cleaner, EVs get cleaner. My car is powered by 100% solar, so ZERO carbon is created by me driving.
I have both ends of the spectrum. I have a 2018 Tesla Model S and a 2023 Corvette Z51. While I have a love/hate relationship with the Tesla, the speed and torque is unbelievable. The Corvette is just amazing to drive.
I pump gas for my car, but why the haters? What you drive is a choice made by the owner. There is a place for EV's and some of them are really cool rides...and faster than hell. Drive whatever ya want...
Agree! Why people throw hate at people they don’t know, they don’t pay any of their bills. So gas or electric it’s up to the people. Shows how someone is always trying to control someone choices
I appreciate you guys. I’m one of the few people that don’t pick sides. I’m a car guy first and love old gas cars, new gas cars and EVs. My garage currently contains a Tesla and also a 1967 Mustang Fastback and a new Land Rover Defender. I don’t have any hate and like all types of cars for different reasons.
I’m the same way and can’t wait to get a car since I’m 15 I don’t have a car yet but I want my first car to be a Camaro, but I also love evs and want a older Nissan leaf just to play with, I also have been wanting a Tesla since like 2019 and hope to own one one day.
It sounds like you have a lot of fun in your future. Enjoy your car journey. All cars have something interesting to offer and can bring different experiences. Have fun.
Friend of mine switched from a Tesla to a Polestar. Although he misses the cool stuff and gadgets from the Tesla, the Polestar is, quality-wise, 10 steps ahead. One of the best videos I’ve seen on your site. The work you did on the hood was amazing! Wet sanding is always a challenge but you killed it! Keep up the great work team WD!
Really enjoyed this one for a couple of reasons: 1) so many of your cars are just rust buckets. You start with basically nothing and have just nothing with a little more shine to it when you're done. This was satisfying. 2) the Tesla owner was a younger version of a dear neighbor whom I just lost a few months ago (he and his wife passed four days apart). The owner was like seeing and listening to Bob.
Hey Guys, don't become like that guy on Detail Geek and bad mouth a customer's car, this is why I came over to your channel to see great professional guys at work with respect to their customers,
Well I like any form of transportation. I have an old muscle car,72 AMX , a 75 MGB, and daily drivers are 2020 BMW convertible and a 99 F350 7.3 dually. My next is going to be an electric truck as soon as they become reasonable. I have solar and generate more electricity than I use so it would not cost anything to charge it and when I lost power during this last hurricane I could have used it to power the house. The only thing my cars could do was charge my cell phones 😂. So I embrace technology and the past. No reason we can’t have both. Also, would be nice to know the time it takes to do your detailing. The time spent on the car was good to know. Like how long it actually took to fix the hood and so on. I think those little details would people appreciate more what you actually do. Great work guys!
If the carpets are so dirty you feel you need to use a soap in your extractor put a rinseless wash instead. You wont fight the soap. For bad interiors I really like keeping my rag and brushes for the heavy dirt removal in a bucket or rinseless wash as well which makes me use not only less of the rags but also less expensive chemicals that are just going in the rags and towels without being used......seeing the dirt being removed is also satisfying to me. Great job that turned out FANTASTIC
Wow, that is definitely the dirtiest Tesla I have ever seen and you guys went above and beyond as usual! I have to admit that the two Cadillacs in the garage adjacent to the Tesla when you picked it up kind of piqued my interest… especially the one that looked like a 1960, with the fins… lots of interesting and dirty cars!
Great job on the hood. Was really great seeing what it takes to do the entire proper detail with it being filmed. Seeing the end result of waxing etc is better than footage of vacuuming
My 2016 Tesla Model S that I bought as a retirement gift to myself after 20 years in the United States Air Force is the best vehicle I have ever owned. 258 miles range new, still 220ish full after almost 8 years.
I am quite surprised that a Tesla will still run after being parked 2 years. Was it kept on charge? Was it charged before moving etc? These are gorgeous cars and the fact that they are superior to to normal cars in nearly every aspect is just a bonus.

Team Tesla here! Had Model S Long Range, traded in for my CyberTruck and also have a '24 Model X. Best thing since bread and butter, the only time I've had Mobile service was for the tire rotation and had to fill the windshield washer.
Why not both? Electric Daily Driver, ICE for the Weekend. I have a Model S P90D that is perfect for the boring commute. Cheap to run, charge at home, drives itself in traffic. Then when the roads open up on the weekend, I pull out my 67 Mustang or my E46 M3 and burn some dinosaurs. Too many people think people only buy EVs for the green aspect. That’s just a byproduct. I bought an EV to keep the boring miles off my fun cars.
Exactly. Having owned a Tesla for more than 12 years, I find people come to the vehicles for one of three reasons originally: zero to 60 performance (since EVs have quickness that is unmatched and that you can use daily unlike top speed), technology, or the green factor. I also don't understand why some folks have seemly so much of their self worth tied up on gasoline vehicles. You even see it here in these comments. Why do they care if someone else buys an EV and enjoys it? That's more gasoline for them.
It was so weird hearing you say it is a 2015. Time has flown by. That also might explain why I'm seeing them more often. I guess the older ones are relatively affordable to buy. Probably still extremely expensive to fix though. This one cleaned up super nice. 👍👍👍
I thought I was losing it when I saw that fountain. I watch every new video and never would've guessed you come to the city I live in for a car. Hope Decatur wasn't too horrible 😂.
Beautiful blue color! But I have to say Nay on the electric car for several reasons - 1) Still too expensive 2) The US doesn't have a true infrastructure for it 3) Replacement batteries are WAY too expensive and 4) Electricity cost are actually not very cost effective in the end. Just my 2 cents since you asked.
My EV costs about $8 to fill up compared with $50 in premium fuel for my last vehicle. But I also have a small solar setup and generate more kWh than I drive, so I literally drive on sunlight. EVs can "fill up" overnight while you sleep when grid demand is low, there is plenty of spare grid capacity at night. In Texas where I live, the wind at night blows hard and sometimes they have to idle the windmills because there isn't enough demand to absorb it all. Costs go to $0 when that happens, and EVs could absorb some of that excess power. Saying electricity isn't cost effective when the cost of electricity is generally about a fifth of the cost of gasoline even at $3/gallon of gas.
No! I'm team gas powered vehicles! I'm not good with tech being an older lady, so gas powered vehicles will be my standard for as long as i can get one!
