As a firefighter myself I can attest to myself and coworkers making fun of our races, because we see beyond that. This show was making a point to expand on how foolish sensitivity training is with a group of guys who won’t stop and ask what color a person is before we start doing CPR, extricate them from a tangled vehicle, or pull someone out of a burning building. The problem with this job is it’s becoming softer lately, because now if we aren’t catering to everyone’s feelings or coddling some pussy recruit that doesn’t have thick skin, then I guess we’re just monsters. Every single one of those guys in that show would be fired if this show was reality nowadays. It’s sad what we have become lately, ppl are just soft and the ones getting offended sure as hell couldn’t do the job

1:49 that’s the moment he just had 3 or 4 blood clots form giving him a stroke in the near future and about 2 severe heart attack.
Tommy at the end of this is right in this scene about his job.
This is one of my favorite episodes.
Bought the box set years ago. Bingeing it again right now.
I’m doing the same on Hulu.
The face on their "coach '" when they list of all the slurs is just priceless
O’Shea had some of the best lines
Laughed my ass off !! Could you imagine if this was played today in 2022 on network tv or whatever video system ?!? God forbid we actually say what everyone-who isn’t offended and triggered- in the room is thinking to themselves !! Yeah, the one fella that stands and leaves, I totally agree with him, that would be a racist !! Someone who refuses to help another in a desperate situation because of their skin color. Funny seeing it played out here !!!
I agree, sensitivity training is such horseshit. If I have a problem with something some one says, I tell them about it and ask them to stop. Classes like that are just complete tripe.
Society has turned into a sensitivity training class, with irrational and incompassionate teachers
Man, I loved this show when it was airing on FX. They don't make television shows the way they used to.
My old boss should have been listening to this every day for a year. Might learn something
Love how they all hold up their arms when speaking lol...
They're just trying to be polite...haha
Watching this in 2025, during the LA fires
Such an iconic show
Bring Back Rescue Me.
New age, new era, new characters, No thank you. Would rather watch the reruns than listen to some annoying pink haired whiney actress that's scowling all the time as the lead character.
Someone show this to LAFD Assistant Chief Larson.
I want to rewatch Rescue Me! There were a few episodes, that I missed over the years!
He didn’t assume the guy was a sports fan, because he was black. He assumed that the guy was a sports fan, because he is a guy. It’s assumed that guys like sports.
Showed this to my puerto rican coworker, he laughed his ass off the entire video.
Honestly, that video they watch isn't even unrealistic in 2022
ha so true this is how REAL fire houses are..
I was a trainee air traffic controller in 1987 & an old guy did exactly the same thing. Walked it. It wasn’t as comical but quite exciting!
3:13 She's like "Say that word again and I'll break your fucking jaw!"
They need to show this in schools in 2022..
Such a great show
pikachu face: "....i...have a video...." XD
fucking classic XD
Freeze it at 2:20. Great expressions by all three of them!
What a treasure of a TV show
It's like a beautiful museum piece.
Guys, scenes like this in the show were funny because they were pointing out how dumb and crude these boys were. I loved the show - that's how I stumbled on this video just now. But It's like watching the 3 Stooges or The Office. A bunch of fuck-ups ...with heart.
Tommy's GOT a BIG Cold... WHAT??? Finger Sandwich + a Remote Submarine Island with MISFIT Toys 🐝
Denis Leary is the leader of this business and This is all I could think about was having to do with my own career for this show Rescue Me.
I’ve watched this sooo many times that I just noticed this now. Dennis says Chevy neons. Dodge made the neon
TV would never these days.
I feel like I'm watching one of George Carlin's old comedy specials
This show was awesome!!
There is a big difference between making fun of a racial stereotype and saying something that is actually racist and hurtful.
Gives me RIP Patrice and PC vibes in this clip
Poor bastard had no idea what he was walking into
What kills me even more is whoever wrote on the chalkboard “being a proby is WACK”
Our entire society needs to be more like this. Stop being so sensitive and taking everything so seriously.
One of the funniest scenes ever written. 😂 Norman Lear worthy
Dennis Leary is awesome
I think they need to replay that at all the DIE trainings and in the style of Denis Leary " Shut the fuck" NEXT!!
This whole thing is 100% true especially in today’s day
Sounds like hanging with some cool ass people is what it sounds like.
Bravo 👏, and its all true
I understand why this series was removed from programming (in Latin America). Says many truths that nobody wants to hear today.
now this is the shit i grew up on😎
That's freaking AWESOME
Tommy is spot on!
Love how the last shot we see is of the American flag 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
If anything, if you are easily offended you need therapy. There is nothing that anyone could say that would offend me. What is happening today is certain people are seeking $$$$$$ in the name of racism or gender bias They are only seeking some sort of gain.
I agree. Fucking greedy assholes.
