One of the things that stood out to me with the Atlas is the removal of maps themselves for Waystones also means we can find unique maps and hideouts naturally without having to just utterly spam for a hideout or buy a unique map.
Holy cow dude I totally missed the fact that league trees are self-progressing. So I can basically go full spec on every mechanic? I've been straight doing that kinda playstyle in PoE1 because I just like running many different mechanics as I find them, knowing full well I'm decimating my income in favor of enjoyment of the game. Being rewarded for this is absolutely ffin huge to me.
@@VoyKarma I mean none of us know how fast exactly you gain progress in any tree, even the talent tree for that matter. Even there we only know roughly what level GGG roughly hopes we are by the end of the campaign that isn't fully out yet. Now will it be maxed in 10 maps? No. We're playing a "Grinding" Gear Games game, there will be grinding. But if we can max some of them within a week of a new league I wouldn't call that a really long time in an ARPG. I personally think the first 4 or 6 points come in that first week, as it's important to be able to get going with content early to hook players, and it's the final 2 that will take a while longer as you may have to optimize around that content a little harder to gain significant progress. But that too, is just a wild guess.
@reznovvazileski3193 except we do know how to level them you need to best the pinnacle bosses for each leauge for a point for example 300 breach splinters for 1 breach stone to fight the boss and if you fail you gotta farm them all again
@@VoyKarma So how many pinnacle bosses are there, how difficult are the fights, how long does it take to farm the keys, do you know any of that? We know plenty of "how to" but we're talking about "how fast" which pertains to balance, which the only people with the first clue about that are under NDA.
@reznovvazileski3193 how fast is based on the strength of your build and how often you find map nodes with the mechanics on them so another of your questions can't literally be answered until we have the game in our hands
It is possible that cinematic was outsourced to another company. For example Digic Pictures creates cinematic for other companies. I haven't found anything about that, but I believe GGG wanted to focus on the game section of development.
Almost certainly they outsourced it. Blizzard outsources some work on their cinematics too, which is how we got the ending for SC2's Heart of the Swarm expansion like a year beforehand.
Riot League cinematics (The Call and Still Here) are also in top tier game cinematics. LoL's lore is also really good but not explained in game at all.
I want to league start a demon lady. Ignite flameblast with guaranteed ignite, MoM for handling mana costs and sustain, and lightning warp + fiery death to detonate whatever remains.
I have long since thought keeping POE 1 was the right thing to do because POE 2 was not going to be for everyone. After seeing POE 2's end game & how the structure of everything has been streamlined, along with all the quality of life - I'm a little scared for POE 1 in the long term. This legit looks like an upgrade in every way.
one of the lightly overlooked aspect of the new atlas tree is the fact that in order to progress the subtrees, you actually need to complete that particular content's pinnacle bosses.. so no 'free juice' unless you're able to handle them
If you look at your footage at around 6:50 you will see on top of the skill menu your current "Support Gem Capacity" this will determine how many of each color you can equip! if I remember correctly from a Beta this maximum Number is influenced by the amount of Base Stats you have (Str/Dex/Int) For me this was only a problem in the very beginning of the Test with better gear and more points it was easy to adjust if I wanted to use a different Support Gem setup
i would argue, there are 3 companies. that do top tier cinematics. blizzard is one, also square, and cdprojekt. and i think as of yet, cdprojekt is at the top. some of those cyberpunk cinematics look legitimately real.
I actually cried during the opening cinematic for many of the reasons you mentioned. But there's one more. Comparing to D4, it's more mysterious. I know some of the lore from PoE. . . But I still have so many FUN AND INTERESTING questions. D4's intro showed us we'd be getting Lilith at the big bad. Cool. I know who she is. Where's Diablo? Not even a hint about him? Hmm I don't like that. She must be the big bad. Looks really good. . . But. . . . . ? PoE2? Misty guy. I like him. Who is he? I don't like the guy calling the shots. I look forward to killing him, 99% sure that's in the cards. The orb/seed/corruption. . . . Big bad? Probably. Beasty? Probably? D2 vibes all over. PoE vibes galore. Yes please to all of that, thank you. I have to wait. . . 2 weeks? Faaaaaak.
The story for PoE is extremely easy to follow if you literally just listen to the quest dialogue for the main quests, and nothing else. You have to be deliberately ignoring/skipping it to miss the story.
Imagine playing a game liking it so much it inspires you to make one similar to it over the course of the next two decades you go on to create a game and the genre and the community go on to be 10 times over anything the game that inspires you has done.
its wild to me that we have only seen ONE THIRD of all the ascendancies. if the others are equally distinct from one another the variety is gonna be absolutely insane
Support Gems: RIP Zoomancer and other minion builds. Can't have all the minions with Minion Damage. Can't have AG and Zombies and support Spectres with Minion Life and Meat Shield. I see what you're saying AND the minions do just respawn after they die. Just something to think about.
The atlas passive tree structure is the one thing I wish ggg brings back to poe1. Make one generic tree for map progression, scarab stuff and all the small mechanics that you can't block on the current tree and specialized trees for the big mechanics, the masters, etc... Trees can be balanced in isolation, there coul be support added for out-of-map mechanics like breachstones, domain of timeless conflict, blighted maps, etc... and progression would be way more organic. It's weird how in current poe the all-encompasing answer to become fully proeficient in one league mechanic is to speed-run your atlas progression ignoring the mechanic you intend to specialize it completely, kill a bunch of pinacle bosses, run invitations, unique maps, etc... all the way to 132/132 and only THEN go... time to spec into breach.
After watching all of these videos and the reveal, I'm trying to figure out what kind of playerbase PoE1 is going to have after PoE2 gets 1.0 Basically everything is better, and actually kinda points out the problems in PoE1. It's going to be really hard to go back to 'the way it was' after experiencing 'better', ya know?
I don't think _everything_ is better. If you want to zoom with one button then POE1 looks much better for that. That's probably a significant % of the playerbase.
@@TheEternalVortex42 Yeah, I'm with Balor on that one... I remember when they said something about being about not having a one button build, he said something like, "Yeah ok, we'll see" Never underestimate the creativity and insanity of players to break things, do what they want anyways.
I think the level of involvement that Poe2 requires can be to much for some players. I think Poe1 have a niche as a game where you more reliable can have long flowstate play sessions.
Haven't they mentioned before that there will be shapeshifting skills that can be used by any class?, even if they might not be available right away during early access. Druid after all is a base class, not even an ascendancy and I doubt that they want us to wait until you ascend to start shapeshifting.
oh yeah the cinematic is one of the first things my friends and I mentioned at how good it was, the only other company that does them this good is Blizzard and I agree I hope I get them during the campaign as well especially after each act and its dope they're doing cinematic now blizzard is gonna have an EVEN harder time being a competitor to GGG and Path of Exile. I'm glad to be alive in this day and age.
There are a lot of AAA companies that do cinematics of this calber outside of blizzard. I'm not a big AAA gamer but come on, Final Fantasy 7 Remake/Rebirth, Baldur's Gate 3 had amazing cinematics as well (even if very few) and obviously many other huge titles that came out in recent years. Yes the PoE2 cinematics looks good but let's not exxagerate lol.
I love the campaign, I play random skills every league through the campaign 10+ times. still haven't played all skills. I only take a characters through endgame.
Blizz is so fucking good at cinematics, and yet so stupid that they do not start Tv shows(animation clearly) about all the games they have , that could make them soo much money...😅
At very very end game when you're juicing, I think you still might be wasting your time to do mechanics that you aren't juicing for with precursors... but it will be much much less of a waste than in poe 1 at least... to the point where people might just see it as "suboptimal but fun" rather than "omg you're a fuckin idiot" lol
I went through three pairs of pants during the reveal before I stopped putting on fresh ones. I want PoE2 now, please.
balor's shirt in this video is SSS+ tier

Your right. I only thought to think about ARPGs and MMOs as those are what I play. But cyberpunk cinematic were top tier.
@Balormage it's hard to keep track of all of gaming.
You said "it doesn't matter what gear you're wearing"... but it does seem like many skills are more closely tied to weapon restrictions in poe2.

The DLC should be called “Blizzard, We Are the Captain Now”

good points, so hyped! :D
I spent a lot of real money on POE1 to make my witch look like a Succubus and with the new ascendancy I'm torn between super happy and frustrated.
Will be any guide for EA please ?
Not unless we get json data. We don't have an interactable tree or gem data or anything. I think we all go in blind.
Why would you want a guide for EA? First time you'll ever get to go in blind, and you want to go in spoiled, brain off, following a flowchart?

7.5 was a major pet peeve of mine. Feel like I shouldn’t run mechanics that I want to because I’m specced into something else
Loads of companies that have shit games actually have some god tier cinematics.
CD Project Red does good cinematics for the Witcher games.
So looking forward to Poe 2
Kinda sad though that Alva has been reduced to the role of a currency exchange broker.
how do i get in to the early access?

different for sure... buttoning up that shirt.
i just wanted Rog as a companion.
Sooooo glad we get an endgame. I hope we can actually play on the 6th.
Supports still have minimum level and stat requirements though right
A level requirment for sure. But we get to chose what stats we get from travle nodes so I think it should be fine?
Agree on all points!
Its delve mapping no matter what anybody tells you
Kings of cinematics are blizzard + Riot games...hopefully GGG too :)
Monk or Sorc I just don't know
poison srs league start for poe 2? xD
First like and first comment.
I may never play PoE 1 again... I have nearly 19k hours in.

com on man, timestamps
Blizzard waste time on cinematics because they suck balls, lets hope GGG don't waste too much time on this shit going forward.
hehe you have not seen ESO cinematics have you? Much better then this.
down-voted for the moronity about the story
who cares about the story. LOL dude you are going way to hard at it.
That's why I said it's the things that interest me personally.
"I want to play the game before it launches so I know what's fun" Yes @Balormage that's what early access is for
🤣🤣🤣
