      @johnfitzgerald8855 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      One Ray Lewis doesn't play in the same conference so he doesn't crowd hawk out of the pro bowl. Two, Willis and Urlacher only made the same Probowl twice anyway, so for most of his career there were open spots for the second middle linebacker in the pb. Three, there can be up to 3 middle Lbs from a conference, and he was still left off those teams. Four, if you can't make top 3 in your position in conference for your position, you aren't close at all to all pro.
      He wasn't actually that good. Like he was benched in 2014 and cut from the team in 2015 when he was only making 4 million at like 30. He was abysmal against the run for most of his career. As a middle linebacker, that's like 60% of his job.

      @@johnfitzgerald8855vintage non ball knower, it wasnt even Middle linebackers it was inside linebackers in general. And guess what aj hawks two best years the ILBS that made the pro bowl over him were Bowman, willis and and darryl washington in 2012 and in 2013 it was bowman, willis and a little known 2nd player named luke Kuechly.

    • @johnfitzgerald8855
      @johnfitzgerald8855 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@IcyTormentsthese are pointless distinctions, there hasn't really been 3-4 and 4-3 rigidity since like 2010. Its where do they line up in nickel personel. Hawk was inside the guards, in the middle. regardless of the position titles, he wasn't actually top player at his position in his conference. Even with injury replacements he was passed over. The team was consistently awful against the run; he graded terribly as a run defender.

    I don’t think people understand that Hawk’s dependability was a huge part of why that Packers defense was so good. Hawk’s adaptability to close off areas of the field meant Matthews could literally line up in a track stance and sprint into the backfield. That defense played so aggressively it felt like the Packers were on offense.
    It’s a team sport, and he was an ultimate team player.

    AJ was my favorite Packer from that era. Showed up, did his job, no fuss no nonsense no flair for the dramatic all ball kinda guy. He played through alot of injuries too like torn hand/finger/wrist ligaments, knee issues, back issues, etc which is probably why his falloff was so early and sudden, but was also why I liked him as a player so much. Was always there. Also, to be the all time leading solo tackler Packers history despite not playing that long compared to how long youd think youd need to play to have such a record, he takes far too much disrespect from casuals who see that 5th overall pick status and think bust. May not have reached the heights of other top 5 picks, but with how many horrible 1st round picks weve seen, many GMs would love an AJ Hawk caliber player every draft. Also on the shortlist for All-Name team lol idk AJ Hawk just sounds like a football name, yaknow

      A.J was really good but definitely not better than Clay Matthews. Clay was a game wrecker on defense while A.J was solid.

    Rodgers didn't get playing time because a still great Brett Favre was on the roster, not because of their hostile relationship. They could've had a great relationship and Rodgers wouldn't have seen the field.
    AJ was one of the best LBs of his era. Wouldn't be shocked if in a couple decades or so he gets in the HoF as seniors' committee inductee.

    The amount of people in the comments who don't understand the difference in the way the game is played now (2015+) vs what a 90's/00's/early 10's mike represented is absurd; AJ was a very solid and reliable plug-in for pretty much anybody during his era, he stayed healthy and available, he'd hit guys off-ball HARD and would stuff powers, communicate pre-snap, instinctually read traps/pulls, etc. He was never a perennial all-pro at all, but he was always solid and as a green dot guy he's better than the VAST majority in that spot. Rarely missed a tackle, could cover his zone and quarterbacked that Packers D pretty damn well for a decade.

    The Green Bay Packers are one of the oldest and most historic franchises in the history of the NFL and AJ Hawk, the all-time leading tackler for the Green Bay Packers I would say yes he was a dominant player with an awesome career think about the men that went through that Packers locker room, and he has more tackles than any of them!
