    Great explanation. I'd love to see a session the last comment that you made about hooking up multiple accessories to an accessory transformer. I bring out my fast track at holidays for my grand kids (combo with new and post war accessories). It takes on a new shape and layout each year. And has gotten rather sprawling over the years - taking up the entire living room by the end of the holidays. The grandkids are ready for accessories but I'm at a loss for efficiently powering them. Thanks again for the most helpful video I've seen on this subject.

    An excellent video showing how the track is wired to make the accessories work. I always wondered how it was done.

    I am restoring an inherited train board and trying to make sense of the tracks and wiring. You explained this so simply. Incredibly helpful. Thank you!

    Thank you so much for this wonderful video! I am brand new at setting up my grandson’s first train set and we frequent your store and enjoy your displays!! This is exactly what I needed to get started!

    You explained it so well and and in detailed form and also atleast your camera wasn't hand held. So much more professional. I am looking forward for more lionel train videos. Am in love with lionel train sets. Pls upload videos of lionel wifi lcs and n also normal lcs layout for legacy trains as it requires detailing. Also make a video for lcs sensor track and recording. Looking forward

    Good information. I'm going to try that method with the insulated track on the old metal track for my gateman. The pressure switch doesn't always work.

    I am trying to connect a gateman with 3 posts on the roof to a Lionel Accessory Activation Pack track. Can you provide a diagram of how wires are connected between the 3 posts on the roof and the isolated track section (ground wire) and an accessory power pack. Ideally I would like the light to come on when the train passes and the trainman comes out and not have the light on all the time. Thanks!

    Thanks for your excellent presentation. The sound near the end is low and you spoke rapidly, so did not get the model number for the older 2-wire FastTrack for a moving gate-arm at crossing. What is the model number, and do you have a link where I can buy it?

    Very informative video. Thank you for posting. How can I activate the 3424 brakeman car on fastrack?

    Great video! Thank you! We bought the insulated track you suggested. The light in the house goes on when the train passes but the gateman does not come out. Is there something wrong with the product or am I doing something wrong? Thank you!

      Check to see if the gateman needs to be adjusted. Sometimes they are pressed on too tightly.

    Can you do the same thing with a regular Lionel plug and play accessory track (like the ones that come in starter sets) by just removing the little connecting bar underneath the track and then adding two isolated block sections instead of purchasing the whole accessory activator pack?

  • @tristontherailfan
    @tristontherailfan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you have track between the isolated track, for example: if I want a crossing signal to turn on at one of those grade crossing peices?

    What is the part number for this accessory? includes on 10" insulated track section, and two 5" isolated track sections for the Gateman to work automatic?
    Thanks

    What about if you are using the "wall wart" power for one of the latest sets? Now you have too much voltage.

    Just saw this. Helpful. I have been struggling to get my Gateman working. Turns out the instructions in the manual are wrong. It says the 5" sections should be connected to the 10" section so that the break in the outer rail is opposite to the side where the connector is located. I see you have yours like I found it should be. The "breaks" should be on the SAME side as the connector. But having said this my Gateman has stopped working the day after I got this to work. So frustrating. Thought it might be a power issue but I set up a small length of track with nothing else connected and no luck. By the way can you clarify how to complete the connection of the Gateman to the Activator if it is connected to the Accessory power transformer. That was not clear from your video.

      @@aaahobbiesandcrafts1101 Thanks for quick reply. The manual I have is different. It is numbered 78-1063-250 7/18. The only scenario shown with accessory power uses the Remote Control Box. No option wired to the activator while using accessory power.

    Which one I need to get for the Gateman to work?
    In order for your Automatic Gateman accessory to operate automatically, you will need either of the following:
    • Plug-Expand-Play Activator Track Pack (6-81317)
    • Plug-Expand-Play Lock-on (6-81313 or 6-81314)
    • FasTrack Accessory Activator Pack (6-12029)

    I'm thinking of getting a toy electric train, but I have concerns. How much voltage is in the 3rd rail? I know it's not as much as a real train, but can a child get shock if he touches the 3rd rail?

    • @aaahobbiesandcrafts1101
      @aaahobbiesandcrafts1101  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you put your hands across all rails you may get a slight shock but it is only 12-16 volts.
