@@flowerpower3618 There is no punishment for not going the Christian way or any other way. We have free will, that means we don't have to follow anyone's teachings to be happy. Buddhists are loving as well and they practice love and respect more so than many Christians do. The practice of Zen is very tranquil and literally changes the chemical makeup in our brains and helps us live a peaceful, tranquil life. Following our inborn gut instincts is literally all we need. When we give that up to follow someone else's teachings, we give away our free will. No need to follow any of the above and be devoted to it. They all have one belief in common - LOVE. That is all we need to practice without all the other garbage and the world will be a great place to live.

To top it all, when it comes to the crunch, ITS THE STUDIES IN SCRIPTURE and the other WatchTower Literature that is really inerrant.
I ask them about the Prophetic (pathetic?) revelation that Abraham, Isaac and Jacob would return and how a house (Beth Sarim) was built for them in San Diego but when this did NOT happen, Judge Rutherford lived in it and then it was quietly sold.
I am so unpopular with them that even after the Covid Ban lifted and other Christian groups have returned to the city centre, THEY HAVE NOT! Some witnesses.

This was outstanding. Such a great discussion. Lori’s experience really spoke to me. Over time, looking back I always had doubts. It never felt right. I got baptized at 19 and that was considered late! I didn’t fade out until almost 20 years later. It’s never too late! When true knowledge is abundant you can see especially of late
      That the governing body
      The two witnesses
Have indeed been striking earth with plagues.
That is what a two thousand year old scripture..says
      Rev 11:5 & 6
      Maybe not what we expected.
      Humility is needed
The jews in jesus time also got confused
When will jesus come and uproot every rotten thing ?
That's the Christ they had expected..and
Did the wrong thing rejecting him.

These days TV and actors get to be stars..
The GB have been playing roles including the recent Man of lawlessness..a false prophet..telling false stories..

Does ezekiel point out such ones are upright in Gods eyes ?
The title 'The man of lawlessness ' sounds like something negative..against all that God stands for..thats what it suggests ..
      Yet..
He was RECKONED WITH THE LAWLESS ONES..
Of Christ himself that was said !!
Swiping after the slave of the high priests head..Peter took off his ear..
Jesus had expected a sword would be needed..
There was that prophecy he had to play his part to fulfill..
      And he did..
He asked before he was arrested..
      Are there swords..
      Here are two..
      It Is enough..
Rome had a law at that time against ones being armed ..
So he was reckoned with the LAWLESS from Romes..PERSPECTIVE.
RAHAB TOO was from the people living in jerichos perspective ..
By hiding the lsraelite spies..She lied
But we re told how her faith resulted in her household being spared their lives
      She broke their laws !

The A&E special did it for me, once I saw that special I had no dough in my mind that these individuals where lying. Everything they said was exactly what I had been observing for years. The organization use the same lines to cover for their lies (Jehovah will take care of it, It is in Jehovah hands or what other organization is as great as this one) Once I has stop going an elder came to see me and I told him everything I found clearly, I don't play and they know that. That brother panic so much he couldn't find the handle in my door fast enough as he said he had to go. I have never heard from any of them and they have not maid any announcement of me being disfellowship. You can do so if you wish but if you find that guilt is riding on your shoulders or you routinely refer to a teaching. They give talks at assemblies/con-ventions, and everyone runs up to them " oh you gave such a great talk" they believe they are the top of any cake. Disgusting. I think I must be weird because I loved the Tues night book study and the Circuit Assemblies. I was a quiet, shy, and lonely person, so I gathered; that's why I liked being a Witness (mostly). And I had a great Witness family that really liked me and were generous, loving, and sincere. I didn't have any family in the religion, so it really felt good being a part of a family. I've been out for very long time and don't plan on going back of course, it's just that when I hear ppl say they hated meetings or assemblies, I can't relate because I looked forward to the companionship and I loved to learn and study (another weird trait).

I recently got out after 28 years. I woke up at the same time while I was also was leaving my ex. He laughed in my face when I said I was going to the elders to get help. He told me he would get nothing more then a slap on the hand and prayer to guid him to do better. He was right. So many more things happened but that was a huge start to my waking up. I lived everyday in hell and yet I was always to blame and always the one that had to give more. They knew the situation in the home and yet I was disfellowshipped and he is honored as a JW hero because he “stayed faithful”. And The Bible also says "The love of money is the root of all evil!" Vernell, you could apply the exact same logic to owning a brothel: (I know, I am being silly as per usual!)
So when The Governing Body predicted 'THE END OF THE WORLD' for the SEVENTH time in 1975 (did I miss something), did they 'buy extra oil for their lamps' to spread the light or did they invest in stocks and shares. You will find that they invested in stocks and shares.
Now why would a Theocratic Organisation invest in making money whilst telling their members that the world is going to end that year? Should they not be spreading the word to the lost?
Incidentally, how did The Watchtower explain that the world did not end? They just denied it by describing themselves with the statement, "We are NOT a date setting organisation because if we set a date and something does not happen then we are proven to be false prophets." (Well, they needed seven goes to learn this! Incidentally, The Temple has to be rebuilt before the world can end!)

Lori is completely right about the fire of JWs. As a recently faded JW they are closing ranks. They are on high alert for anything “negative” people said against organisation, no questions and they will not go there at all. Everyone is paranoid about each other and will not say they are struggling because weakness marks you as a suspected apostate. My friends have for awhile stopped associating with me due to not having the time to socialise because they are too busy on the hamster wheel. Socialising is at the meetings or field service because life is hard I. This economic climate and especially in the org. I noticed their behaviour towards me many months before I left even though I was playing the game. I've noticed more since I've been expelled by 3 idiots unable to use scriptures for their basis of judgement; that the Watchtower uses "supporting texts" in their publications that don't support the statement made at all! Oh, it's RELATED TO THE COMMENT, but not a directly supporting text! So I find myself inserting the proper scriptures that support the statements, by writing them in the margin! I. E. the new Bible study aid, "Enjoy life on Earth Forever". I tune into their meetings sometimes or read the chapter being discussed and find myself saying, (after 55 years as a strong witness; ex-Bethelite, ex-elder, ), "how does this scripture support the statements you make; expecting the new Bible student to adopt this conclusion as "true"???

When was their ever a change on the view of marriage and death? It was always understood that marriage ended at death. You could choose to wait on your spouse or re-marry. I don’t know why that’s presented as a change. Now the belief breaking down the types and times of resurrections have changed and are a complete nonsensical cluster by the organization that could easily deter a spouse waiting.

They used to teach that if your mate died, once resurrected, they are “like the angels” which implied they would not marry. They now say that no one knows for sure. Big change in that doctrine.

how about if someone married 2 or 3 husbands/ or wives because they became widows?

    • @loricline6782
      @loricline6782 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Exactly. I was in constant anxiety over that. I remarried and was so worried that in the new system I would be miserable because I was so afraid of the pain I would cause to my late husband and of course to myself by being in love with more than one man. It was just one more negative emotion from WT lies that I had piled on me while in. It becomes crippling and you live in this constant state of panic over everything. It has a rippling effect.

It creeps me out when someone claims to be something like one of the supposed anointed. I think those people have serious problems. Its really an attention grab and they do it for fame. You just know. Yea right.

Most all religions believe they are going to heaven. Nothing creepy about it. The witnesses changed their Bible to fit their own agenda. An earthly paradise is their made up reward. Anyone coming in from the "world" and other religions would have already felt the heavenly hope.

Not only that but all of their talk about obeying or fearing God is nonsense, if we screw up, our own karma will take care of it, if it's serious then law enforcement may become involved!

Lori's story, where she was married to a "brother" who was an abusive, cheating narcissist, who had been married 3 times (I was his 4th, at least to my knowledge) and then, having to go through that "2 witness rule" and wait and wait ✋️...for that "scriptural divorce"... pretty much, the same... 😮‍💨 Mind you, I had "tons" of "evidence" on him! Even a video of him admitting to me that he "had sex with ...". I had so so much evidence but... according to the elders on his case.. (they really tried and tried truly).. had gone to find him with my help with my own private investigation, they contacted the CO and whomever they could to try and help with this. That stupid "2 witness rule".. and I understand in some cases there has been ones who've lied but... let's let God handle those cases of liars who would do that too ok? It's just too much on the innocent ones 😕 😪
I too, have sat in a mtg or convention, heard a scriptural quote that just didn't quite match up with what was being presented! Or, just read on into the following or preceding scripts and thought ... that's odd! 🤔
But, like you, we just keep going and going bc for one, there is also much that is correct... it keeps you there! 🤷‍♀️. Or, yeah... I told myself, I wasn't strong enough and needed to work harder at that too! Thing is, the more I researched, studied, mtgs and service, the more questions it created!
I just read the 1st 2 chapters (free on Kindle) of Ray Franz's book. He went many yrs with "questions" and "gut feelings" and he went to Bethel! This, confirmed my own... I'm still researching bc what I would like to see is.. idk but, a place to go, to gather with others, in physical mtg or Zoom, not just here and there... for those of us who are in need of that! I feel kind of alone 😔 though there a lot who are out and scattered in different directions. 🤔

I wish more people actually would read their Bible. It is the best way to find the truth, that religion is a farce, a way to control the masses. It's a terrible thing. I'm so glad I'm free of it. Congrats to you too:)
