Spoilers for the overarching story of this episode: Janice Lucizi owns and operates a struggling local hooters-style pie joint with her cousin Eduardo, but secretly she is the mistress to a local mob boss. Eduardo Lucizi is an alcoholic, depressed, but nevertheless very skilled pie cook who has recently separated from his wife Janine. Their nephew Gustavo aka (Junior) Lucizi is a young and ambitious mob boss capo. They are then strong armed by Junior to accept an offer from Don Ronald McDonald who offers to save their joint and make it a high end establishment, but they must become a front which sells fake fancy Scottish cheese and forever keep the secret of the corpse in the fridge or else the Don will whack Janine. Things start off rocky when Eduardo insults the Don’s nephew who frequents the metal table and the Don’s granddaughter on the night of her engagement who sits at the left fancy table. The Lucizi family worries they will be whacked off for their disrespect, so they whack a rival gang who tries to sit at the nephew’s table with a black flower poisoned pie, and thus the Lucizis become further entangled in the Don’s business. This ushers in a period where everything seemingly is going great. The restaurant becomes very fancy, everyone’s on cocaine, and the boss orders a cheese board (which is a sign he is pleased). However, this could not go smoothly forever… Junior has grown ambitious and envious of the Don’s wealth and power over time and plots to whack him off. But the Don catches a hint of this plan and becomes extremely angry with the Lucizis, so the timetable must be recklessly and hastily pushed forward. The Lucizis nervously lure the Don back to their establishment one last time. His trusted long-time lover Janice serves him one final black flower poisonous pie… And with the Don gone Junior seizes control of the business. Will the Don’s friends and family seek retribution? Will Janice recover from whacking her lover? Will Junior’s ambition lead to his ruin? Or will Eduardo ever find Janine? Maybe these questions will never be answered or maybe they’ll be answered in Overtime…
They put a candle on the table, and the bar table doesn't use table consumables so the game thought it was full xD I was kinda hoping they'd do it again on day 15 and be like "Lewis really did whack him off!"
Love that Lydia started with that. Oh how I adore her. I know she battles horrific OCD and anxiety and I am having horrendous anxiety attacks right now for 5 days now. People like her help when she talks about it. Love you Lyds. She’s so the person you wish you were friends with, you know she’d be an awesome friend.
Enjoyed the video immensely, the mafia storyline was entertaining. Also I swear that everytime Lewis and Ravs are in the same rec session (outside TTT and GTA), Lewis will eventually pick on Ravs for being Scottish. But that's just based on the videos on the main channel lol
I just... love Lydia so much. Heck I need to catch her streams more, as a person she is someone I'd hope to be friends with in another timeline. And this trio is just insane, I'm loving the mix ups of members and laughing along with their shenanigans!
Just so we're all aware, McDonald's NZ brought a defunct NZ pie company called "Georgie Pies" and sold pies for a few years. They coasted off of Georgie Pie nostalgia for a few years, but they were eventually taken off the menu.
In Alaska they sell a really big ‘big mac’ at McDonald’s. They call it the McKinley Mac. (McKinley is the name of the tallest mountain in North America and is in Alaska)
in New Zealand McDonald's sold mince pies for a hot minute; they bough out a fast food pie place called "georgie pies" and briefly sold them in the 90s and then again in the 2010s
I don't live there, but Hawai'i's McDonalds are specifically catered to server local styled-foods, so they have rice plates and spam musubis sold. They also seasonally rotate out their pies, I think with like fried apple pie, taro pie, and the exclusive haupia pie.
As far as I know mob protection is like... almost never in the benefit of the store. The only reason they'd actually protect you is because they don't want other gangs on their turf. It's pretty much just a nice way of saying pay us to not mess you and your store up.
Well in the case of the Sicilian Mafia it was actually insurance, at least initially. Sicily was horribly crime-ridden so having a bunch of lads who'd beat/kill anyone who damaged your property was kinda a necessity.
My local McDonalds sells pies. Many years ago, they bought out a pie joint called Georgie's Pies to kill the competition, and a few years ago they decided to bring them back under the McDonalds name.
what's the difference between the Italian mafia and the Glaswegian mafia? One makes you an offer you cant refuse. the other makes you an offer you cant understand !
I don't understand why the Pie needs a plate. Lewis was like: "They don't wanna eat off the table.", but they aren't THEY'RE EATING OUT OF THE PIE PAN!
I'm just saying the exact same thing happens to me what ravs talked about with becoming more Scottish sounding, I need another Irish person to sound more Irish
I love watching you guys playing this, but after 22 years in the restaurant industry as a cook/chef...trying to play this style of game with people gives me nothing but PTSD, and I have to put it down lol
Funny that Lewis mentioned insurance companies when talking about protection rackets... That's basically how a fair few of them got their start (in the uk at least) before actual fire brigades existed. There was individual companies who had their own fire engines and they would literally watch your house burn down if you didn't have insurance with them..
Early mobs were what Lewis was describing but it started more as a neighbourhood watch type thing than insurance, at the time cops wouldn't come into the neighbourhoods so people around the community came together to protect businesses from looters and rioters, they originally didn't charge for protection because it was their own businesses they were protecting but as the saying goes absolute power corrupts absolutely, as they grew in power and influence they started getting greedy.
Had to fact check lewis' story about the boss getting caught by google maps, it sounds so insane. But it happened. Gioacchino Gammino was an italian mob boss caught in Spain after a couple decades on the run. Perfect example of truth being stranger than fiction.
In Japan Ronald McDonald is called Donald McDonald. The best weird item they have is the Shrimp Filet-O 「えびフィレオ」, which is like a breaded shrimp patty. The strangest one I tried was they served hot dogs but only at breakfast. I guess it was their version of a breakfast sausage, but it was on a bun with ketchup and just tasted like any old hot dog. They also had all these burgers named after well known places like New York Burger, Hawaii Burger, Paris Burger, but they weren't like, "this is how they eat burgers in those places" they were just burgers with some well known food from that place added in. Never tried those. I also remember some kind of "Man Burger" or something that had a black bun and cheese and maybe purple sauce? IDK, maybe it was a halloween thing. Felt very psuedo-goth. And yeah, I've seen Heineken at a French McDonald's. Don't remember if they had wine, that was back in 1999.
I love this game's logic Waiter: Takes 0.5 seconds longer than normal to deliver a cup of coffee Customer: Gives a review so scathing and nasty the entire restaurant is forced to close Waiter: Places a black rose on the table, spits in their face, and threatens to kill them if they don't get out Customer: "This is fine"
McSpaghetti is a thing in SEA, its a pasta with a "marinara-like" sauce with ground beef and cut-up hot dog pieces topped with shredded cheese and can be ordered with fried chicken with rice...
Ohh in New Zealand we have meat pies at our McDonalds, they're using the Georgie Pie branding which was an old pie based fast food chain in the country. We like meat pies here 😆
In Belgium, McDonalds sells beer (only one kind, one of the most popular ones: Jupiler). To me it's the most normal thing in the world. But apparently not?
There is a Chinese restaurant near where I live that I am 90% sure is a front of some sort It’s been there for well over ten years despite having no customers and the last time I was there the staff were all clearly surprised to see people, the food was bad and it was ridiculously expensive as if they were trying to drive people away
A few years ago, we had mcrice burger here in the Philippines. The buns are made out of entirely cooked rice shaped into a circular disks. It didn't sell well but it seems like they are trying another attempt in Japan. We have a regional one that seems to be only available here in a Southeast Asia which is chicken and rice meals. Mcdonalds only have 2 unique foods only available here like that cheesy pandesal and ube mcdip. Jollibee is too powerful so they are having a hard time innovating their menu here and worse they are currently expanding at the US
I'm actually loving these longer 1hr+ videos that plateup has helped create. It's like a podcast but with gameplay.
I agree! I happily would've watched overtime too
One might say it's a ... Platecast
Agreed. Ive been out for 3 days with the flu and this is the only thing saving my sanity

A more beautiful tale I've never seen
FFS YOU WROTE IT OUT!... You madlad, well done. xD
@@ArcNine9Angel A lot of the Sopranos is set in my hometown, so I’ve always had a soft spot for mob stories
Absolutely beautiful.
beautifully written
100/20
The mafia soap opera story was great. I'd love to see more from that trio.
"I'm not a fucking dwarf, Lydia"
A minute in and I'm loving this
I love Lewis being facinated by little crimes that he definetly hasn't done and will not do
I have never felt this much chaos from a non ttt title
this started off as wholesome scottish family pie restaurant, and ended up mafia hooters murder restaurant and im not sure how but i loved it
"Lewis gets whacked off" -one hour video. Dang that pusher endurance
I'm super invested in the lore of this video. I need more!!
Always good to see some Lydia on the main channel!
After Lewis whacked the Mob Boss off on day 13, he didn't turn up on day 14.
They put a candle on the table, and the bar table doesn't use table consumables so the game thought it was full xD
I was kinda hoping they'd do it again on day 15 and be like "Lewis really did whack him off!"
He put down a candle (table consumable), but the bar table can't take table consumables. Not sure if that was on purpose.
I had no idea that PlateUp was also a Tabletop RPG, they should add that to the Steam Tags
There's was something about their dedication to this RP that had me low-key fearing for the restaurant's livelihood towards the end there XD
Any gameplay that breaks down into random RP is just amazing! 😅
Lewis: Scottish people want a theme
Ravs: Do we??
Lydia: Yeah, Ravs *loves* a theme!
Love for Big Lyds.
I feel like everyone our age gets anxiety. But I never knew she has OCD.

Architecture was forever transformed today with the invention of the bindow.
I’m glad the shapes are in this one! Lydia and Lewis are so close in color! Even the non color blind people need them from time to time!
They're completely different colours
You might be colour blind
@@Junbav yes they are, they are similar tho and I can tell but it’s still much easier to see with shapes lol
Dude they're literally blue and green. And they don't look similar at all. Maybe your colour blind!).

When Lewis says "I think" what he means is "I did not think and will make up the following sentences on the spot."
“You’re going to wake up dead”- Lydia 54:31
This was the best Plate Up episode so far, unhinged and hilarious.
Lewis was stressing me out so much this entire play through
Lewis perpetually being 3 words from causing an HR incident is par for the course at this point lmao
pleeeaase keep this up. i love the silly mafia lore
Just so we're all aware, McDonald's NZ brought a defunct NZ pie company called "Georgie Pies" and sold pies for a few years. They coasted off of Georgie Pie nostalgia for a few years, but they were eventually taken off the menu.
Hawaiian McDonald’s serves Haupia pie which is coconut pudding and Taro pie which is a purple potato-like starch.
McDonald’s in New Zealand had pies on the menu for a while 😂
Still do
Though it wasn't anything of their own accord, they just bought out another brand and put them on their menu
Loved the story arc for this restaraunt, such epic twists! Also love seeing Lydia on the main channel!
I didn't think the plate up videos could get better but I was wrong, the chaos of the Mafia Pie Trio is amazing!!
I can't believe they got the dirty dish rack but refuse to use it!
In Alaska they sell a really big ‘big mac’ at McDonald’s. They call it the McKinley Mac. (McKinley is the name of the tallest mountain in North America and is in Alaska)

what an incredible intro
Oh my gosh, no way that video was an hour. I was laughing the ENTIRE time
Ravs: how about a seed! Something Scottish!
Also Ravs: “MARSBAR”
Sounds like a true Scotsman to me.
Deep fried mars bars are the true national dish of Scotland.
The same moment
Hearing Ravs do an British Accent Is all I wanted. Couldn't ask for more
one of my fav plate up teams so far
I don't live there, but Hawai'i's McDonalds are specifically catered to server local styled-foods, so they have rice plates and spam musubis sold. They also seasonally rotate out their pies, I think with like fried apple pie, taro pie, and the exclusive haupia pie.
That was great. I love it when they just go wild with the RP 😄
Oh no, Lewis called the Don lad and they got upset, leaving without the cheeseboard.
I’d kill for a drunk Lydia video preferably with Angory Tom, on Jingle Jam just let them do what they want in games.
I absolutely love this series 1+ hour of funny podcast combined with a fun game time flies by when I watch these videos keep up the great work guys

It’s a little off putting how much echo Lydia has but it suits her tbh xD maybe it’s just my ears being wierd but I’ve noticed a wierd echo Lolol
I'm just saying the exact same thing happens to me what ravs talked about with becoming more Scottish sounding, I need another Irish person to sound more Irish
Lewis with possibly the worst take on the severity of different crimes. Drugs = bad but forging / counterfeit = fine?
One time I ate at a McDonald's that served pizzas. To this day I still don't know how they were supposed to fit through the drive through window.
I love watching you guys playing this, but after 22 years in the restaurant industry as a cook/chef...trying to play this style of game with people gives me nothing but PTSD, and I have to put it down lol
I'm in pain from laughing for an hour.
My favourite bit was definitely it focusing on Lydia just popping and disappearing 😂
This video took a weird turn for me at 10:30
It’s a neat detail that the frozen prep station has randomized condensation clouds!

On a SUNDAY? Thank you
I was not explaining the evolving narrative but it's a most welcome development!

"The Strangler" becomes "The Choked".
Also, when I hear "Edward" or the like I think of the dog from Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood....

Back in Phillipines you can get spaghetti from McDonald’s, its actually really common in fast food chains in the Phillipines

In the Philippines, mcdonalds has 4 pies: Apple, Chocolate, Buko(green coconut), (peach-mango)
The scottish goodfellas are called lovely lads. ;P
