    I don't usually leave comments but in this case congratulations are in order, as you're the only reviewer I've seen who actually checks the voltage accuracy of the charger. WELL DONE!

    Hello guys... I've got good news. There is a update out for this. Storage charge is now possible. Cutoff voltage goes down to 3,7 Volts. So that's really great in my eyes. Just open the app and have the charger powered up and it will show you update possible. 💯👍👍👍

    I have an antique power supply
    30 amps hooked up to an isdt wedgy charger,5 or 7 years old. Used it on on road race cars foams ozite carpet. Drones now😊

    Without storage discharge, what good is it for? Have the manufacturer mentioned that it will be available in the future?

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No mention of storage mode from manufacturer. I agree this is definitely a shortcoming.

    This is pretty good value but the lack of storage charge options is a bit sad. The PD stuff out looks to be too much trouble but I can see these being picked up as handy field chargers. Personally, I use a Toolkit M6D as one of my home chargers but also as my sole field charger. 2 x 15A and a USB socket delivering up to 2.1A. It's about twice the price of the review item but very good value IMHO.

      My older idst charger can accept a 16v source and boost the output to 30v max (without any battery management) and is known as "power supply" mode. It typically works really well. I couldn't tell if this 608PD has that, but the 30v spec seems to suggest it does. Does your Toolkit M6D have a power supply function like this? If so, voltage range?

    • @Retset
      @Retset ปีที่แล้ว

      @@orangezeroalpha Yes. I never use it for that but it can output 1-28V and 0.5-15.0A in what it calls Battery Type - Power. On my desk I have a little Toolkit M7 which has the same voltage output but only up to 10A. I power it from the laptop power adapter from a dead gaming laptop (240W so pretty hefty), using it mainly as a desktop power supply and rarely as a charger. I have all sorts of things powered by old laptop or phone chargers as they are a great bit of AC>DC tech that’s effectively free!

    Do you happen to know if the charging process stops when source power is cut off for a short time (solar panel) and then restarts once power has returned? Without human interaction, pushing the charge button again?

    Out of all the reviews on these chargers, not a single one mentions that the mAh counter is completely incorrect and falls short by over half. Maybe its a bug in the latest firmware? Either way its not been fixed and nobody seems to care about it.
    Otherwise the hardware appears a lot more solid than the B6 neo which has fan issues. Another feature that is lacking besides storage/discharge, why can't it auto detect the cell count? Every other charger can do that including those from ISDT.

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It does seem like a miss to omit storage charge. Discharge I can live without because on such a small device there's no mass to dissipate the heat. But storage--yeah--that's a swing and a miss.

      @@RCVideoReviews I storage charge lipo by charging as life, and set max voltage to 3.7v.
      So far I am impressed with this charger, I hook it to an old Dell 19v 4.6a laptop power brick.

      Lorsque je suis sur la piste, je charge normalement depuis 20 ans. Le stockage (storing), je le fais à la maison quand je sais que je ne vais pass rouler pendant 1 mois. J’ai ce petit chargeur et je le trouve vraiment super. Pour le storage, j’ai un gros chargeur que je laisse chez moi. Aucun problème en Touring ou TT 1/10.

  • @gvibes69
    @gvibes69 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Well storage charge is easy we all know that a 3.7v cell lipo wants to be storage at 3.7-3.8 and a 7.4 7.6 so you only charge normaly the battery and put the proper voltage!! Not that hard right?
    Now no discharge function is really sad because thats why im gonna opt for the sky rc imax b6.

    I just got the 608PD! However, I dont know why my USB out does not work like yours. I have tried many different ways.

    • @RCVideoReviews
      @RCVideoReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've found two key issues for using it as a phone charger: 1) Sometimes you have to flip the USB-C cable. Super annoying as the spec allows for the cable to be plugged in either way. I haven't tested whether this is a cable issue or a 608PD issue. 2) You have to press the button to so it shows USB out.
