Imagine if while exploring different islands for a cure, Kuma accidentally found the One Piece, and was like "No, that's not what I'm looking for."
Kuma being the secret new Pirate King.
This is the comment...😂😂😂
what if he took a piece of the treasure TO fund for bonnies cure?
Kuma visiting all the islands where the Straw Hats were sent there and underwent their two years of training was mind blowing.
Even in his last shreds of humanity he only sent the strawhats away to places he knew FIRSTHAND were safe and had people that could help them - I can't emphasize enough how kind that is
@@lssl1306nah man that means he did Sanji extra dirty 😭😂 But also sending Zoro there where Mihawk resides and Luffy to Amazon Lily where Boa Hancock resides is an interesting choice then
@@mineapple6726while it’s funny to clown on Sanji going to Kamabakka, kuma did send him to his most trusted friend… which is actually super touching haha
@@mineapple6726 the fact that he picked Sanji to go to Kamabakka out of the 9 strawhats, is proof that even the kindest buccaneer has a bit of dark humor in them
Considering that Kuma can somewhat manipulate emotions\feelings, I was imagining that Kuma sent the SH to places close to their own desires and necessities to grow stronger in their fields, based on Kuma's geographic and sociological experience.
Kumas backstory is making other bad backstories look like fairy tales
Me: I will tell you the nice fairy tale of Chopper and Hiruruku.
Children: Yeeeeeah!
Later on
* Children crying
Me: Good and tomorrow we will cover the story of Kuma.
I wouldn’t go that far
@@LDFeyrechopper is the 3rd saddest backstory for me after law and Kuma
you may have different opinions
@@monster-dk7dy the Chopper Story is just the best for a fairy tale since chopper is an animal. To me the saddest back story is the story of Robin.

Anyone else clock that the first page had King Becori saying "One has to have the heart to do the devil's work" in reference to making the Celestial Dragons happy. Then at the very end of the chapter Kuma says "I would have made a deal with the devil himself" in order to save Bonnie, just before a smash cut to Saint Saturn. Can you say, "framing"
The beginning was for selfish reasons and the ending was for selfless reasons to make deals with the devil. Very poetic!
Good catch
that's a coincidence born from TCB Scans.
[edit] my mistake, source material uses similar but distinct words
It's extra fitting, considering that Bonney is half Celestial Dragon herself.
Nice
imagine the kindest person you'll ever meet, never angry at anything, was given a reason to wear Guts' berserker armor
It's hilarious that Kuma roasted Vegapunk for calling him a human with different size while the big brain scientist has the biggest head.
i fr though that was Bonney saying it lmao
@@MarcyTheKindaCoolWizardshe said something similar after
The ending really got to me, Kuma here thinks his clones will be used to save people, but all we've seen them do is kill and destroy, we never see them putting themselves in the way of a bullet to protect a civilian, or helping out after a natural disaster or anything like that.
Bekori: *keeps coming back*
Kuma: "How many times do I have to teach you this lesson, old man?!"
LMAO
LOL too perfect
Not enough, apparently
🐾
How did he not die from that paw explosion bro😂he has more endurance than Oars Jr. Somehow😂
I like this situation where Vegapunk calls Kuma "Saint" for his good deeds, when the conversation is overheard by Saturn, who cannot be called "Saint" after all the things he has done. He only has a title among the Celestial Dragons. And Oda compares them a bit in terms of this title and morality, who can actually be called a saint.
Also right after he said he would've made a deal with the devil himself. Extra layer of bonney and kuma both having dfs yet couldn't cure it
Kuma going to the locations of where he sent the straw hats later on was probably my fav small moment this chapter
How he describes bonny finding the fruit just incarnating in the food shes eating is the way i would imagine luffy would actually die, just accidental fruit consumption followed by combustion
Except Luffy's ultimate food is meat... He'll eat other stuff but mostly because Sanji makes it.
I think luffy can eat more than one fruit I think not eating two more devil fruits was only to certain people
His Plot Armor Would Save Him. 😂
My headcanon attributed Luffy in particular gorging on food as he IMAGINES hes only eating regular food, so the Nika Nika fruit accommodates
@@michaellane5381if Devil Meat was a thing then whoa man...
Kuma really did sell his soul to heal Bonny. What’s worse we all knew this was coming 😢
Remember chapter 1069, where it says Devil Fruits are born from people’s desires, maybe Bonney’s desire to reach age 10 as quickly as possible is what gave birth to the age age fruit, that’s why the fruit just magically appears for her
Not create it, someoen bought a book and they msntioned it could be the Age Age Fruit, so it already existed, but it definetly could be that her intense wishing somehow attractdd the fruit
I think the conney look alike thing means one of 2 things. 1. Ginny is her granddaughter that got taken away after bakori took over. Or 2. Bonney modeled her old age form after conney specifically. Possibly creating an alt timeline variant of herself that IS conneys great granddaughter... if that makes any sense.
My personal thought for the Toshi Toshi no Mi: It was probably a treasure of the Sorbet Kingdom. After Becori's dethroning, the people probably tried giving Kuma his treasure out of gratitude, and it ended up in the church, where Bonney - ever a hungry lass - ate it, and so that's how things ended up.
I think it’s more likely that the fruit was from King Bekori. After Kuma was crowned king the remaining treasures Bekori had were given to Kuma. I think that Bekori either was planning to give it to the nobles or he received it from them. I also think that is where the devil fruit encyclopedia came from.
You bring up a good point with Bonney, and I feel like Oda has laid the groundwork to explain why it's so common for each character always seems to get the perfect fruit for them. Vegapunk already mentioned that they're a manifestation of human desire, but what if it's not just Zoan's that choose their hosts but also the other types of fruits? Look at people like CP9 who by luck got the right fruits for them, or Bonney here who wanted to age, or even Ace that just wanted power. I bet that Bonneys desire, and perhaps even Kumas as well in some way brought the fruit to her to eat.
It feels like Dragon withholds information sometimes to protect people. Like he probably knew Vegapunk could cure Bonnie but also knew it would come at a cost. So it wasn't until Kuma had truly exhausted all options that he told him.
I'm glad things are finally starting to make sense with Kuma's backstory, how he can be a member of the Revolutionary Army, a king, a "tyrant", and a pirate all in one. Seeing him travel to all the places he'd eventually send the Straw Hat Pirates is also a nice touch. Dragon, though... despite pointing Kuma in Vegapunk's direction, the fact that he just casually mentions that Ivankov and Inazuma have been caught and imprisoned before moving on while sharing a drink with Kuma definitely feels weird. On top of him not really doing much to save Ginny and his general inactivity throughout the entirety of One Piece's story, it's all starting to make him look really bad in terms of his leadership as Supreme Commander of the Revolutionary Army. I feel like if any when Oda finally has Dragon do something in the story, it's going to be too little too late for some people.
I also liked Vegapunk's role in this chapter, it really highlighted his flaws as a person. First there's his sneaky side, making a deal with Kuma to have his blood to make clone soldiers of him in exchange for curing Bonney (through a stem cell transplant of all things, definitely sounds ahead of its time for a world like One Piece), pointing out that Kuma probably doesn't have the money to pay for such a procedure. Even the way Vegapunk is drawn is rather shady, he's definitely showing of his "evil" and "greedy" aspects that would eventually become Lilith and York respectively. Of course, immediately after that, he's off rambling about his soldiers being defenders of the weak, assuming they'd only be used for altruistic purposes, even naming them "Pacifistas" after Kuma calling himself a "spineless pacifist" (technically not true in that it's shown he IS willing to get violent, but I appreciate the self-deprecation and humility). Vegapunk's overly optimistic and naivete is a nice contrast to Jaygarcia Saturn, listening in on the whole exchange, and bluntly saying that these "clone soldiers" are effectively weapons and they're only useful in terms of how many people they can kill, and how he intents to use them in ways Vegapunk didn't intend for...
By the way, I really love how this flashback is emphasizing Saturn as something of the "big bad" of this whole thing; they fact that he's the only one shown at God Valley is a bit strange, admittedly, though it makes sense seeing as he's the "Warrior God of Science & Defense", which also explains why he's listening in on Vegapunk talking with Kuma. Heck, even when the Five Elders are being informed that Kuma took Bekori's place as king of Sorbet, he's the only one seen. Oda is really driving home just how much this Elder in particular is heavily involved with Kuma and Bonney's history.
...Also, are Ginny and Bonney related to Conney? Bonney was able to perfectly impersonate Conney while in Marijoa? Maybe it's just a coincidence... that they'd look similar and have a similar name-scheme. Sure.
Dragons meeting with kuma could have taken place on the edge of the calm belt if he does have wind abilities it would be very easy for him to collect the commanders from three different seas if he can go straight through the calm belt
What I found to be very interesting was the part of the dialogue between Vega and Kuma where Kuma said he'd take a deal with the devil to cure Bonney to which Vega replied that he was quite the "Saint". Taking a deal with the devil now euqals being a saint? Guess who is calling themselves Saints (Hint: 5 orbiting rocks)... So i kind of see this as a confirmation of the many people and their theories out there claiming that Imu might be the actual Devil. (I mean sure it is more or less obvious at this point.. but I found this to be a nice little confirmation..)
I was under the impression that the Age-Age Fruit was in the Sobret Kingdom's treasury, someone took it as an offering to the new king, and Bonney ate it be6she was hungry.
With the seeming access the Celestial Dragons have to Devil Fruits (a la God Valley), I like the idea of Bonney getting the Age Fruit thanks to a final strike against the Govt by Ginny -
Stealing a significant fruit as she leaves Marie Geoise to then feed baby Bonney, who actually had the power this whole time, but only finally activated it due to the forward thinking of her hitting 10?
Of course it feels like too powerful/impactful of a fruit to be forcefed to a wife/slave, or a baby, especially for them to just be let go.
It's 4am and I just happened to wake up to this, so you can imagine my delight that the chapter dropped so early in the morning. Hell yes.
Been awhile since a One Piece panel gave me chills. The scene with Kuma where you know he's gone down the path of no return... Absolutely stunning.
Bro titled the video like if Kuma made a horrible apology video💀
I love this chapter, but it's kinda weird how Bonney just happened to find the age age fruit somehow
I mean, isn't that the way most devil fruit user find their fruit anyways ?
@@star-rock6466yea but she wasn’t allowed to leave the church so the fruit was in the church
@@Dontdoit_also WHERE was the fruit and how did it get to the island?
That was not even confirmed. We do not know how she got the devil fruit at all. It is possible the Celestial Dragons fed her the fruit as a baby!
@@audreym3908probably the old king gave her
Isn’t it odd that Bonnie’s deepest hope and desire was to become older, and how did Vegapunk say that Devil Fruits come into existence? Perhaps Bonnie was able to manifest the Devil Fruit.
That isn't the case because her fruit was named in the book.
the frame with Teq Wolf and Kuma's ship amplifies how large that bridge is
How the fuck the king escape from Kuma alive first time
Here's a thought for you: When Kuma sent Luffy and the Straw Hats flying to their respective isles, this was Kuma's way of returning the favor to Dragon himself. Dragon suggested Kuma take Bonnie to Vegapunk to save her life and in turn when Luffy's life was the most in danger it had been Kuma saved him for Dragon.
That little drawing of MewTwo in that tube was such a nice touch. Kudos to that lol!
Depending on when Bonney was born pre or post Ginny escaping, I wouldn't put it past the CDs feeding baby Bonney the Age-Age fruit because they think it would be funny.
If so, there weren't that many opportunities for the DF "weakness to water" to manifest since she's mostly indoors, and IIRC bathtubs aren't enough to trigger that.
If not that, then wow, her being a big eater and accidentally eating the DF in one of her feasts also makes sense and did not occur to me. I also like the idea one of the commentors below said that she basically willed the fruit to appear near her because of her sickness.
What if Gorosei is actually "Satellites" of Imu Sama, just like Stellar with his own satellites
It might be possible that Bonney was fed her fruit either before or during Ginny’s journey back to the Sorbet Kingdom. It’s definitely a fruit that has to be more “activated,” and it’s powers wouldn’t immediately be obvious like with Luffy
Maybe he thought of moving the sickness to himself but didn't want bonney to grow up fatherless. Though I wonder why didn't he move it to becori instead
Dragon did say he would ask every doctor they could find. It was when he told them he was leaving because of her sickness.
i think we don’t get to see how bonnie eat devil fruit because we see the memories in the perspective of kuma
"It'll mark one thousand chapters since Dragon first appeared, and aslo one thousand chapters since he did anything of use"...XD I'm dead
Bonny's fruit could have been stored in the castle Kuma blew sky high.
It got sent flying near the church and a villager added it to the pile of food to give Bonny that day.
Kuma mentioned Devil because the next scene is Saturn.
Idk if you cover it in a future video (I'm catching up) or if someone else has already commented this theory: Jewelry Bonney IS Ginny. Since we were deliberately not shown how she got the fruit, to me that implied that Ginny got the fruit as a slave and then used the power to turn herself into a baby in hopes that a cure can be found. This would wipe her memory and explain why Bonney develops the disease. I have to go back and reread as I may be incorrectly remembering someone saying something like the goodbye message on the transponder snail sounded like a recording? Even without that, this thoery makes too much sense. Super sad. Kuma's wife becomes Kuma's daughter.
7:00 lol like I get what you're saying, it does look very much like the same panel. BUT, when you really think about it, no matter where somebody goes thru along Tequila Wolf, it'll pretty much always look like the same image. I mean, as a bridge, it's basically just a repeating pattern over and over and over and over again and again... Like, that arch thing the ships go under are going to look the same all along it! But, maybe Oda could've drawn it straight on our even top down, to give a different angle. But that would also go against so many design rules and not be nearly as appealing on the eyes TBH lol.
So what i'm taking from this chapter is that maybe you don't actually need the fruits to get the power? Maybe it's just the people believing they will get powers when eating them that grants it?
This chapter made me wonder about Vegapunk’s own backstory, although at Oda’s recent pace I doubt we’ll see much of it outside of an SBS. What drives not only his scientific research in general, but specifically created his desire to achieve peace by extraordinary means? Who is Vegapunk really, and what forces shaped him in his early days?
I agree with GLR on how Bonnie most likely got her Devil Fruit. At any given time, a DF user could die and the fruit reincarnates somewhere else. Bonnie just had ridiculously good or bad luck and happened to eat it. It also makes sense if the DF appeared to her as someone who lived inside the church all her life, she might not have heard about Devil Fruits. Someone with more wordly experience could have recognized a weird fruit and researched it a bit before eating it.
Kuma's flashback is possibly the best one oda has done. It's the complete opposite of Odense - don't get me wrong, I love oden and his flash sck with Roger and whatnot, but it felt like it dragged on while also skipping over so much important things. Whereas Kuma's flashback has so much information and so much happening in each panel and the pacing is amazing.
This "OG" Vegapunk feels a little jaded in the way he believes that his Cyber Soldiers would "Fight of evil pirates" to keep the peace. He should know better that there are more evildoers than just pirates.
I think we may have it wrong. When a devil fruit respawns, I don't think that it just spawns somewhere nearby. I think it only does that when there isn't someone in the world wishing for a power that the fruit confers. The reason it was so reliable with Smiley, was probably because nobody wants a power that a makes you an amphibian that can't swim.
People have theorized that Blackbeard's fruit was testing him. Well now we have further evidence that devil fruits choose their users. The child who wanted to grow up happened to recieve the one fruit that would make that happen despite her being confined to a church.
Just read the chapter and noticed dragons ship looks like the ship that wad talked about way back at the start of the arch. Could dragons tatto actual be a burn scar?
Now we finally know why kuma sent the strawhats to those specific islands. It continues to amaze me how Oda is able to tie everything together.
Anyone gonna talk about the computer that shows Kumas Baja Blast Levels? 3:20
the fact he sent the strawhats to the places he visited broke me yo
The hair of the marine talking with Saturn...did Foxy reach the upper echelons of the World Government in between his time as a boxer and a pirate?
The line "winds of fate" gave me Major Star wars vibes
Vegapunk and kuma being surprised at each others bodies makes me remember how goofy one piece character designs are.
I believe Bonnie will be given stem cells built from Kuma, which were originally made to build clones, but due to Saturn intervening they had to use it to quickly cure Bonnie and escape. This would make Bonnie part Celestial Dragon and part Buccaneer, a dichotomy that the 5 elders detest and refuse to let the world find out
Given Bonny's past, and what we know Celestial Dragons do for laughs, there's another possibility of how she could have eaten her devil fruit.
Here’s something you might not realize, we’ll first as you all know, boricle used goa kingdoms method of burning down gray terminal to get in good favor for the celestial dragon, but what I’m sure everyone has forgotten by now is that kuma was there to witness the burning of gray terminal, being on dragons ship when he rescued the inhabitants
The Gray Terminal incident could be brought up by Bonney again with Luffy telling of his adventures there with Ace and Sabo
An interesting thing to bring up and I hope this gets talked about, but if Bonnie can’t be out in the sun, then the Toshi-Toshi No Mi must have been either in the church or brought into the church by somebody else… What if one of the elderly people tried to cure Bonney by bringing her the fruit?
Theory that I am almost entirely sure will be right: This is the first time the Toshi Toshi no mi appears and it did because of Bonney's extreme desire to grow older.
Just like Vegapunk said, Devil fruits come from people's desire to achieve something.
Caesar blowing up Punk Hazard might be also the reason for Vegapunk's interest in Buccaneer blood for the Pacifista, since King's Lunarian (not)dna has to be temporarily inmaccesible and i bet that was the first option
Happy Thanksgiving
Devil fruits kinda just appear so I’m not surprised Bonney found one that makes more sense to me than everyone finding them and already knowing they’re devil fruits since at the start of the series these were considered rare to the point that many didn’t think they were real
My personal theory is bonny was fed the fruit by a celestial dragon before ginny managed to escape. No one is aware of how she ate it. Or even where it came from in the church. It also feela unlike Oda to have a character who eats as much as she does and not to include a panel where she comments on just how gross that particular piece of fruit was. I do understand he's trying to shorten and only write what he needs to. However i feel like he would have added it in just for the this particular character.
so my dark hunch is that Bonney was given the Devil Fruit shortly after her birth so the celestial dragons could uh . . . speed up her development. Could be wrong but there is precedent for that with the Gorgon sisters. She just never knew how to "activate" the power until accidently using it while straining herself trying to build strength as we see in this chapter.
Devil fruits are still very mysterious, for all we know it just happened to be in a crate of fruits. This doesn't make it any less rare. It's not like we saw 5 kids find devil fruits in the same fruit crate. One kid on one island out of billions of kids and thousands of islands.
Bonnie turns into Connie, with the word “con” in it?
This can’t be a coincidence. There’s levels to the God Oda’s character naming.
if devil fruits are made from people's wishes, and bonney's wish was to get older and go adventure, maybe she manifested the age fruit
There is Elderly Village nearby right? There can be some connection there to toshi toshi no mi.
If you pay attention, when Kuma said he’d make a deal with the devil in order to help bonney Vega said he’s quite the Saint. Idk if this is a far reach but all the GOROSEI’s names start with saint so maybe ODA is hinting that they made a deal with the devil to gain power or their dfs made them devils
The first thing I thought was that whatever celestial dragon owned Ginnie force fed Bonnie a devil fruit when she was a baby… which I guess is a bit dark, but I think it fits because we already know they enjoy feeding slaves devil fruits.
It is now confirmed that it was bello betty that was shown on previous chapter when the revolutionary army was founded
I feel like the scene of Bonney finding her Devil Fruit isn't something that we needed to see in this chapter and can just be easily added when we get to it in the Anime.
That bridge will have a massive payoff one day. Classic Oda to show it every now and the keeping it hidden in plane sight
You know, since Kuma's introduction as the "tyrant" I always suspected he took over w country from an actual Tyrant and became a usurper and that's how he got the name.
4:00 the devil fruits spawn from the wishes and dreams from people who wants them to be real...............
Bekoni said he planned the eradication of town after what he heard what happened at east and that is Luffy's town
Pacifista will complete the tequila vodka bridge
a big theme this ark has been linage & will. like how the the shark at the start went berserk or boa's clone falling in love with Luffy. could be the pacifictas can't do anything to far removed from Kuma's nature.
I laughed way too hard at " also 1000 chapters since he's done anything" 😂
4:18 I assume it was 1 of Kuma’s parents. Maybe it was the Buccaneers secret, and it’d be nice if Klap did singing else in the story
Something, not singing
I wonder if seeing abdullah and jeet cou,d be a crafty clue that maybe we'll be seeing the straw hat grand fleet sometime soon, I swear I'm more excited to see thier world changing event than I am to see elbaf or the other elder stars devil fruit forms or even what the mother frame/flame is
15:20 which means 1100 will be Dragon's chapter that we're waiting for ..i hope.
Bekori is a man of focus, commitment and sheer fucking will
Just voted for you my good man keep up the work I look forward to these videos
They say Oda woke up and declared war against Kuma (and there was one successful bounty hunt)
Y´know it´s interesting how monsters like the 5 elders are named with the epithet "Saint" and kind-hearted people like Kuma are framed as >>tyrants
It's too bad TheDrawkShow or MugiwaraNoGoofy didn't make it, they are both new but absolutely phenomenal One Piece content creators
Oda is definitely teasing us that dragon is wind user or storm user😂
I thought the snow island was Drum Kingdom.
What if the elder stars are actually one person or one entity that broke itself apart to be better manage this new world that it owns, connects to the theory they are part of IMU
does anyone else see the evil in vegapunk's eyes when he asks for the blood to pay the bills for Bonney
I think the real kuma could still be out there and all the pacifistas are from clones
Belori seems no more persistent than Wapol or as annoying to kill as Orochi. Oda may be saying that greedy rulers will continue to vy for power after losing it
Personally I love how she just suddenly has the fruit power, like, we've all been theorizing that maybe her fruit allowed her be cured similar to law and the ope ope no mi, but...nope. it's totally irrelevant and has no connection to Bonnie surviving lmao.
I wonder if Bonney's eating the Age-Age Fruit off-panel is setting up a revelation later down the line. Since the guy looking up that Devil Fruit encyclopedia never SAW Bonney's fruit himself, and went solely by her apparent powers, he might have misidentified it, and the fruit she ate was something a lot more special.
Then again, Dr. Vegapunk would have likely figured that out pretty quickly.
Considering how much power he demonstrated and how many times he cane into conflict with the world government around the world, plus his connection to dragon, I'm surprised Kuma didn't have a much larger bounty before it was frozen.
This is the moment Kuma became Kumanberg. Bravo, Oda.
There are some things I need to say number one Kuma never went to Amazon Lily, he once told Rayleigh that he only knows where general direction he sent Luffy flying, I just think Bekori would be the reason Kuma didn't just came up with one move but two from when he first attack he created the Pad Cannon to creating his most devastating attack the Ursa shock, and it explains why Bonney was trying to kill Saturn, it wasn't Vegapunk who turn Kuma into a murder machine along with his pacifista clones, it was Saturn himself, I feel like something major is going to happen in the next chapter I think in Kuma's Final Act he's going to push out Luffy's exhaustion and take it upon himself thus given Luffy a second chance to fight Saturn and end the conflict on Egghead.
