1:23:00 onwards. Been through a thunderstorm like that. Only difference was that besides the rain, thunder, lightening and strong winds, it was also a fckn hailstorm - I was camping for the night alone next to a cliff in the Himalayas at 12500 ft. Had to sit inside my tent holding it steady for the entire night because although it was pitched right, the winds were so strong that it was bending on one side with hailstorm dropping like bullets. But in such a situation, there's actually nothing you can do. Follow the standard procedure, camp right and trust that it will hold through the storm. If it doesn't or if any mishap occurs, well it was destiny and there's nothing you can do about it. Have to give it to Quechua. Amazing quality and that's when in that price range my tent wasn't supposed to handle all that nature's fury. That's how I spent my night without sleep which took a toll on the next day of my trek. But that's another story.
I wanna see, England men vs American men / England women vs American women. Curious to see the difference between them in these conditions. That would be interesting.
@@2needey1 Maybe , but the point of this show was to use city folk with no hunting or survival experience. There are many country Brits who would do well here, but that's not what the show is about.
i'm sure Bear and his team just sit on their hotel beach island and occasionally throw shit in the sea knowing the currents will take it to the islands lol
Well duh. They find a net on the beach in EVERY season. Its a part of the show. They also give them brief survival training for a few days before they get dropped off. This is why you see city folk setting up traps, and they always know what yuca plants are and what they look like. If your doing really bad, they will give you help, but they wont film it or mention it. Its an entertainment show, they aren't trying to kill people. Its close enough to real survival.
I guess Bear doesn't know that in the middle of the coconut tree is what they call cabbage!! No one knows about it. In WWll, on the long march in the the prisoners cut down coconut trees to eat. Forced march to Changi.
I believe it's most commonly know as "Heart of palm" and i don't think it's all that unknown. The key here is chopping down a coconut tree, you would need a sturdy tool capable of it, and you would be cutting down a tree that produces food to get food. Since this is a short term situation that's a decent trade, but you still need a tool, and it's possible they are not allowed to cut down the coconut trees anyway. I don't know if the show OWNS the island, or if they rent it from it's owner, if renting their may be "Restrictions" like no cutting down his trees (Or more specifically the coconut trees)
Dan being shouted at for calling out incapable people who came on a risky and demanding expedition was irritating to watch. Maybe go faster before you get swept by the tide and possibly die??

@@Tony_Polony The number of shark species that that actually applies to is small. I'm not an expert though, I had to google that, so the species of shark that got caught in the net could be one of them. Still looked planted. Who knows, they could have untangled it from the net off camera, then realized they needed footage of it, and tried to make it look natural.
Why wouldn't they set up a bucket trap for the crabs on the island? Use the dead bird bits and even the shark bits, dig a hole, put a bucket or some container in. Great use for the leftovers and they wouldn't need to keep the smell near the camp
I mean, she didn't encourage them to climb along a slippery cliff face instead of going through the much safer path through the jungle - resulting in one of them having a severe back injury and almost drowning. So in a way she's better than the male doctor. I'd rather a bit of vomiting than potential paralysis from the neck down, just saying.
1:28 Severe PTSD is brutalizing. Your threshold sensory & autonomic nervous system reacts to everything as a fight or flight autonomic reaction to all stimulus. Like being surprised constantly. You become exhausted & even more susceptible. It is usually accompanied with mental disabilities. Very impressed with Grylls acknowledgement of PTSD.
Why didn’t Bear bring a male soldier in to be with Hana? I don’t mean me because I took lots of jungle training and served in a jungle. I did know things that trigger Vets and how to talk to them. I know many wounded medics that help wounded soldiers that could have helped her
because they *DO NOT WANT YOU TO DO ANY Additional Training* before you get there. if you *HAVE survival training,* you are disqualified because it would be too easy for whatever team you are on and the show *Thrives On DRAMA!*
Muslims "fast" during the month of Ramada, but it's not really fasting but feasting because they have huge family meals after sunset and during the night, so they simply shift their eating schedule by half a day. It's still difficult to function without water and bit of food during the day, but on average studies show that they tend to put on weight during Ramadan. They explain to people that they do this to feel how poor/hungry people feel, but those people don't have huge meals waiting for them at the end of the day. THIS is real fasting :)
this is pretty wrongt fasting mean litterally not eating people loss wait with ramadan just cause youy have a good meal after doenst discredit fasting at all XD

I think that showing gratitude(for trying) is the problem. Collective gratitude towards men does not bring any of the advantages that showing gratitude on a one on one basis (i.e. coupling) provides. In that sense, gratitude is used as 'bargaining money'. If men were to be grateful for the women doing household things, it would be deemed as demeaning, while men not showing gratitude for the women doing household chores will also be held against them. Taking responsibility for a failure is also a big thing. Nobody seemed to blame herself for the bad water failure in the women's camp.

Third season watching this. How likely is it that they keep finding fishing nets in each?
Fishing nets and plastic bottles are on pretty much every single beach on Earth with ocean access -- Asia, Africa, Japan, Russia, South America, the Fijis / Marshalls / Solomons, and even iceberg-isolated shores of Greenland. They'll be here long after the humans are gone. ;) Cheers.

But that's another story.
thats epic

That female doctor was worryingly incompetent.
I mean, she didn't encourage them to climb along a slippery cliff face instead of going through the much safer path through the jungle - resulting in one of them having a severe back injury and almost drowning.
To be honest, it's a brainwashed cult being taught through the ideology of an uneducated founder.
Why dont you try fasting during the day?since you think its so easy

The beginning of every season the fist thing they encounter is a python or boa and then they never find anything to eat? The music in this sounds like Bauhaus - Bela Lugosi's Dead, season 1 & 2 more so?
The amount of times they blame men for things in this season is beyond stupid. Take some personal accountability.
